Chapter 18 - Chapter 17 – Between Hunger and Desire

The spacious room of the Gremory mansion remained silent, lit only by the moonlight seeping through the half-open curtains. The cold air mixed with the soft scent of velvet and the faint incense that had burned earlier.

Grayfia had fulfilled her duty. After the collapse on the training field, she entrusted Gasper to Rias, warning that he would awaken within an hour with intense thirst. His body, fragile from the effort, now rested on pale sheets.

Rias had not left. The maid departed with firm words, but the heiress chose to ignore the recommendation to keep her distance. The weight of responsibility, mixed with quiet affection, guided her down another path.

She placed Gasper in her bed, lay down beside him, and, with her body worn from the day, let sleep overtake her. Clothes were left aside, as if she wished to offer warmth and closeness instead of the mansion's cold walls.

Ssshhh…

The fabric slid, the sheet covered them both. Rias's crimson aura faded into the calm of sleep, transforming into nothing but the soft warmth of her body against Gasper's.

Time passed slowly. Silence was broken only by the sound of steady breathing, until Gasper's body stirred.

His eyes opened with difficulty. The first sensation was the dry ache in his throat, a burning that did not beg for water, but for blood. Vampiric thirst seared like embers within, scraping against every fiber of his being.

Huff… Huff…

His ragged breathing escaped his lips. The world around him took shape in fragments: first the crimson shimmer of locks scattered over the pillow, then the delicate line of pale shoulders, and finally the rising and falling of Rias's chest in serene rhythm.

His body froze. The last memory was Grayfia's cold stare, the training ground swallowed in shadows, and the crushing weight of defeat. Now before him, there was warmth. Warmth that pressed uncomfortably against his chest.

'It can't be… this isn't a dream. It's real. I'm in Rias's bed…'

Her softness against his body and the poorly drawn sheet revealing too much made it impossible to ignore. The contrast was suffocating. Grayfia's icy discipline felt distant, erased by the warmth of the crimson-haired heiress.

His heart raced.

Thump. Thump. Thump.

The thirst burned like liquid fire, begging for blood. But there was more. The initial shock gave way to an unsettling pressure, an instinct he didn't want to admit.

'In the anime… I remember… Rias used to sleep naked. But with me? I never thought this could actually happen. I… I didn't expect it. Not like this.'

He shut his eyes tightly, trying to pull himself together. His body, however, betrayed him. His throat burned for blood, while rising arousal left every muscle tense.

'It's not just the thirst. I'm… getting aroused. This can't be happening to me…'

Her breath warmed his chest, her body's heat pressing in on every side, making the moment unbearable. He could no longer stay still.

Huff… Huff…

The silence of the room mocked his weakness. The moonlight traced her body's lines, reminding him each second of what was happening.

'I can't… I need to wake her before I lose control.'

His hands trembled slightly. His gaze wavered between her serene face and the temptation burning in his throat. The choice weighed like a blade at his neck.

Heart pounding, Gasper leaned closer. His voice came weak, hesitant, but clear enough to cut through the stillness.

"Rias-senpai…"

The sound broke her peaceful rest.

Her crimson eyes opened slowly, adjusting to the moonlit haze. Her body shifted, moving even closer to him without the slightest hint of shame. For Rias, being naked held no importance. What mattered was Gasper's state.

Her gaze fixed on his pale face, noting the sweat glistening on his skin and the erratic rhythm of his breath. Concern flickered across her expression.

He, however, could hardly hold her gaze.

'Impossible… she truly doesn't care… so calm, even like this… naked…'

His throat burned with thirst. His body blazed with desire. The truth pressed on him like a weight he couldn't ignore.

'Of course she won't mind. But I… I can't…'

The closeness was suffocating. Every curve of her body lay within sight, silvered by the moonlight. The clash between her composure and his inner chaos made the scene unbearable.

Rias raised her hand gently, brushing away a strand of hair from his forehead. The tender, almost maternal gesture only deepened his turmoil.

'I can't… if this goes on, I'll lose control…'

His heart pounded, breath short and unsteady. But Rias showed no tension. Her crimson eyes locked onto his, calm and firm.

"You woke up, Gasper. Grayfia said when you regained consciousness, you would feel thirst."

Her voice was low, yet carried conviction.

"Thirst for blood."

The word echoed inside him like a trigger. His throat burned, his body shook, and every heartbeat roared as an impossible call.

Rias lifted her body slightly, her face drawing close to his. Her crimson hair fell like a soft curtain over her bare shoulders.

"Then… drink from me."

She tilted her head, exposing the pale line of her neck. No hesitation. Only offering.

Gasper's mouth opened, his eyes wide. Instinct surged, silencing thought.

Ssshhk…

In a sudden motion, he lunged, his fangs sinking into her exposed flesh.

Chhhhk!

Hot blood gushed instantly, flooding his mouth with its intense metallic taste. The liquid coursed down with each gulp, searing his throat as though it were the only cure for unbearable hunger.

Rias let out a soft, muffled laugh.

"Nnhhh…"

The sound slipped out between low breaths, strange and almost provocative, her body arching faintly from the bite's impact.

"Ahh…"

Her breathing quickened, each pull from Gasper making the blood surge hotter through her veins. Yet her eyes remained open, fixed on the ceiling, accepting without resistance.

Gasper drank desperately, fingers digging into the sheets for balance. The heat of the blood dulled his throat's agony and ignited his entire body.

Sluurp… Slurp…

The wet sounds filled the room, contrasting with Rias's increasingly erratic breathing.

"That's it, Gasper… drink as much as you need…"

Her voice came broken, mingled with low laughs and involuntary moans.

His body trembled, no longer from hunger but from ecstasy. The blood flowed hot through his mouth, each gulp more addictive than the last.

Rias's nails scraped the sheets lightly.

"Nhhaahh…"

Her breath raced, but her eyes did not close. Between each sigh and muffled laugh, her mind stayed clear, calculating silently.

'He has thirst and ferocity. If refined, that strength will be a weapon for me. Gasper doesn't understand it yet, but by relying on me, he's helping me break free from a destiny I despise.'

Her lips curved briefly into a smile, even as his fangs remained in her skin.

'Good piece, Gasper. You'll be useful. You'll grow by my side. And I'll be the master to mold you.'

Sluuurp…

The wet sound echoed again. Gasper drank hungrily, each pull deeper than before. His body pressed against hers carried not just hunger, but raw, primal intensity.

The blood, hot and dense, ran down his throat, igniting every inch of his flesh.

'This feeling… it's addictive. I can't lose control like this every time… it can't happen again like this.'

Reason began to return, slow and heavy. His body still trembled, but no longer from hunger alone. Primitive instincts clawed at his mind, threatening to break through his fragile restraint.

With effort, Gasper pulled back. His fangs left her neck, leaving only the red trace and lingering warmth. His breathing was ragged, chest heaving, his body feverish from the blood.

His eyes met hers briefly, and shame flared inside him.

'If this goes on, I'll lose more than just control… I can't. Not now.'

He shifted his hips back, putting enough distance so Rias wouldn't feel the other impulse rising within him.

A heavy silence lingered for several seconds.

Then Rias rose slowly, her bare body leaving the warmth of the sheets. Her crimson hair flowed over her shoulders as she walked to the chair nearby. Movements firm, unhurried, as if nothing was unexpected.

Fabric slid over her skin as she put on her underwear. Soon after, she clasped her bra, fingers quick with practiced ease.

She turned slightly, crimson eyes fixing on Gasper still seated on the bed, breathless.

"Tomorrow Grayfia will return to continue your training."

Her voice was serene, firm, like a simple order carrying destiny.

Gasper's gaze stayed on her, unable to move. His body still pulsed with the blood, but his mind fought to steady itself amidst the chaos.

"Thank you for the blood, Rias-senpai."

His words came low, but clear, tinged with timid sincerity.

Rias stood still for a few seconds. Her crimson eyes held his, calm yet firm. The silence weighed until she spoke, her voice low but resolute.

"There's no need to thank me, Gasper. It is my duty as King to care for my servants."

She then rose, taking the hem of her uniform skirt from the chair and slipping it on, adjusting it with steady hands.

Her steps echoed softly across the room as she headed for the door.

Clack.

The knob turned gently, and faint corridor light spilled inside.

Gasper stayed motionless, following her only with his eyes. His heart beat fast, but no longer from hunger. Something else, deeper, impossible to define.

Rias left the room, closing the door behind her.

Clack.

Silence returned, heavy and absolute, while Gasper remained seated, breathing deeply, still tasting her burning blood in his mouth.
