(~Kevo POV~)
I waited for him to get here. What would I say? What would we talk about? No, I couldn't keep worrying like this, but I had to make a good first impression.
The time seemed to move so slow because of my anticipation.
I suddenly heard the front door open.
"Kevo I'm home!" I heard my mother shout from the bottom of the steps.
"Hello Mother," I responded.
Then I heard some muffled voices coming downstairs. Oh! Sol must be here now. I hopped out of bed and ran downstairs. I saw my mother talking to him. Sol waved at me Then my mother.
"Kevo, you didn't tell me you had made friends at school! I usually only see Mia" she exclaimed refering to my only friend who couldn't go to school yesterday because she was sick.
"O-oh, I guess I, umm... forgot to tell you,"
She raised an eyebrow clearly not believing what I had said.
"Well, have fun. I have to work an extra shift today, the rent went up, again." she said with a sigh. I felt sorry for my mother. She hadn't been able to keep a job and the ones she was able to get hired didn't pay much better then minimum wage.
"Ok, I have to go now, I'll be back around 9pm" my mother said before leaving.
"Hi," I said.
"Hey," he responded
"So, umm, what do you want to do?" I asked.
"Oh! Well, I brought a few movies that I thought we could maybe watch, but we don't have to, umm, if you don't want to."
"Sure! We could do that!" I said. "Which ones did you bring?"
"Well, I hope you're into horror because that's all I really have at my house." said Sol.
Oh no! I hated horror movies; I could never fall asleep after watching them. But I couldn't say know, that would be such a bad first impression.
"Y-yeah, I love horror movies, they're the best," I said.
"Great, do you have a TV or something in your house?" he asked.
I only had a TV in my room. My mother wouldn't but one for the living room, she insisted that all they were good for was ruining her brain.
"Y-yeah! It's upstairs." I said.
(~Sol POV~)
I found myself unable to stop looking at Kevos face as he was talking to me. Shit, what the hell was wrong with me. My parents told me I better not turn out to be one of "those people" they told me in their words.
So I forced myself to look away as we went upstairs to Kevos room. His room was small, but cozy. He had books all over the place, mostly contemporary. The bookshelf was filled so books were piled anywhere they might fit.
"Ok, so what movies did you bring?" Kevo asked me.
"Oh! I brought Insidious, The Conjuring, The Exorcist, and..." his face looked kinda scared if I was being honest.
"Do you... not like horror?" I asked.
"N-no! it's like... one of my favorite genres!"
It was kind of obvious he was lying, but I went along with it.
I ended up picking the Conjuring which is probably one of my favorite movies.
Kevo seemed to hate the movie and kept jumping at all the jump-scares.
(~Kevo POV~)
I fucking hated the movie. It was terrifying and it had too many jump-scares. It was too much for me when there was this terribly gory killing scene. I buried my head into his shoulder. I froze and promptly moved my head. He seemed to blush. Was he?! Or was I just imagining this
"S-sorry, that scene was just umm... really creepy,"
He chuckled.
"It's fine, I used to be terrified of them, but the more you watch them the less scared you'll be," he told me.
(~Sol POV~)
He looked so scared; I grabbed his hand in mine. He looked up at me and I realized his face was awfully close to mine. I could clearly see his midnight black fur and
bright orange eyes. But I didn't want to pull back. He moved even closer to me. I felt his muzzle barely graze mine.
No, NO, this couldn't be happening.
"I... I have to, umm, go home, I have to do..." I didn't get to finish my sentence, I was panicking as I ran out of his house, tears welling in my eyes.
