Chapter 11 - Dungeonbound II

At the entrance to the dungeon, we joined with Menos, the rogue. He still seems to be put off by me. He could have objected when the party had their discussion, but it seems he didn't Was he outvoted?

"I'll scout ahead. Don't try to keep up with me." And like that, Menos is gone again.

We steadily made our way through the first floor of the dungeon. Jord, the barbarian, stood in front with his club to face any threats. I proceeded behind him to support the front line and defend the rear. Marcus, the magician, followed, his eyes glued to a map of the dungeon.

The first several corridors were uneventful. We didn't have to worry about traps because Menos would have long disarmed them. Suddenly, a pebble lands near us.

"That's Menos's signal. We have enemies ahead!"

Not long after, a pack of five zombies engages us. Jord rushes in to bash them. I join him in the front line, ramming one of the zombies with my body weight. I then recite the prayer.

A subtle light envelops the zombies, and their aggression vanishes. After a few moments, the light floats away, leaving only some pieces of colored glass behind.

"Turn undead is making this easy!" We collect the glass to turn in at the guild, and continue.

After some more exploring, another pebble strikes the ground near us.

"Get ready!" Jord steps in front again.

A band of twelve skeletons chatter toward us.

"Hang back, I've got this!" Marcus extends two tongues of flame from his hands and scorches the skeletons. The recoil a bit, then they continue toward us.

Jord runs toward them, and I join him. With a great swing, Jord shatters on of the skeletons into loose bones. I take position to block the skeletons from approaching Marcus, and recite the prayer.

A gentle light surrounds the skeletons, and they seem to be at peace. After a moment, the lights move on, taking impressions of the skeletons with them. Twelve piles of ashes remain, each with a single colored crystal.

I feel like I did in the forest. We're being watched.
