The city was cloaked in darkness, yet the tension in the air was palpable. Le Wai stood at the edge of the plaza, surveying the battlefield. Shadows still lingered, remnants of the previous skirmish, but a new presence made his instincts flare.
From the opposite rooftop, a figure appeared—a woman, tall and lithe, her movements graceful yet precise. Her eyes glowed faintly, reflecting a strength that Le Wai couldn't immediately place. She stepped forward, her voice calm but commanding.
"You must be Le Wai," she said, tilting her head slightly. "I've been looking for you."
Le Wai narrowed his eyes. "And you are?"
"A friend… or a warning," she replied cryptically. "Call me Mei Lin."
Before Le Wai could respond, a chilling roar reverberated through the plaza. From the shadows emerged the true mastermind behind the attacks, taller and more imposing than any shadow they had faced. Cloaked in darkness, the figure radiated power that made the ground beneath tremble.
"So, Le Wai," the enemy said, voice echoing like thunder, "you've survived every test… but can you survive the real trial?"
Shadows surged around the figure, forming weapons, claws, and jagged tendrils that reached for Le Wai and Mei Lin.
Le Wai tightened his grip on his weapon, glancing at Mei Lin. She nodded, as if reading his thoughts. Without a word, they moved together, their movements synchronized, cutting through shadows with deadly precision.
