Lady Myriah's gaze sank deep into her bones like ice on a battered soul and she swallowed. Something about that look bothered her but her next words made things worse. "Dragons bond to an entity they choose and their formation is anchored by the force of their bond, either summoned or triggered." She said to the court.

Ravenna was likewise aware of Dragon's bond and more aware of the effect of merging two creatures into one. 

Hundreds of years ago, after the Dragons went extinct, scribes gave an account of how about 90% of dragons bonded with Ground Creatures like humans, and the remaining 10% were able to control themselves without the need for one, but their hegemony was short-lived.
