Chapter 30 - Chapter 30: Investigation, Part 1

A few days earlier, before the cats and Aevum incident. Lilith is lying on the couch, groaning in annoyance. Dai'chi walks into the room and sees her lying down on the couch. "God, this damn Church of the Supreme or whatever they call themselves. Not only are they trying to take over Yehn Pohs, but they are also taking over Salence," Lilith says out loud.

Dai'chi hears her and walks up to her. "What are you doing, Lily?" Dai'chi says. Lilith spins around on the couch, and she sits up. She sighs loudly.

"The Church of Eternal Chaos is trying to take over Yehn Pohs. They managed to replace most of the members of the committee. They also started converting most of the royalty to their religion too. Not only that, but they also started doing it in Salence. The annoying thing is that their king isn't the best at managing a kingdom, and he hasn't been there for a while," Lilith says.

Dai'chi looks at her, concerned. "Isn't that quite a big problem. If they have corrupted enough high-ranking people, then they should be able to overthrow you and Jesse, along with the king of Salence. Then they would be completely outmatching everyone in terms of numbers," He says.

Lilith sighs. "It's not as that. In Yehn Pohs, the current religion is very integral to most of the lower class. None of them would follow Yehn Pohs, and they would all rebel under a new religion. Plus, there are many Ex-criminal organizations that are all being controlled. The moment the person who restrained them is thrown out of power, they will easily destroy the rest of the kingdom. Also, anyone powerful in Yehn Pohs decided to swear their loyalty to me and Jesse, rather than the kingdom. It's a similar situation in Salence too. Anyone other than people who weren't alive during the founding has no actual power, but I still have to investigate," Lilith says

Dai'chi gets excited. "Well, Lily, do you need any help when it comes to this investigation?" Dai'chi says. Lilith nods her head. She stands up and puts her hands in her pockets. Lilith and Dai'chi walk down into the basement. They enter the room where the teleporter is. Lilith walks up to the control panel and inputs the coordinates. She types in 'Realm---2… Territory---Shared_Pohs+Sal… Multiverse---KingSal5 … Universe--- KingSalBorder12… Location---KingsCastle… Portal=Hidden_AccessTrue' and hits enter. She and Dai'chi walk into the teleporter and disappear.

They appear in a hidden portal under a castle, "I never expected that this portal would be used. I guess Jesse was correct when he said to build a portal at this outpost castle," Lilith says. They slowly make their way through the corridors before the exit from behind a painting in the castle. They walk out of the castle. As they do, a soldier holds up a sword to question where they came from. A different soldier stops him. Recognizing Lilith as the queen and saying that the king said not to stop them.

Dai'chi looks back at the soldier. "It's weird how Jesse can somehow predict that some of these things will happen. This is why I never question his intelligence; it's just too far past my comprehension. Though it is odd that the soldier didn't recognize you immediately. So, where are we going anyway?" Dai'chi says.

Lilith responds," Even I question where his intelligence comes from sometimes, and the reason why they didn't recognize me is that the last time I was here was in a previous life. Hence, I probably looked considerably different from what I do now. But to answer your question, we are heading to the Adventurers' guild. It is in a city that is on the border of Salence. It's an important place to get information, so they would want to stop us from going there. Since there are no monsters that can spawn and plenty of credible freelance adventurers hang around in this universe, there is a treaty that only minimal police and soldiers are allowed to be kept near the border and in this Universe. The only way for it to be guarded is for an outside organization, like the church, to guard it," She says.

They leave the city they are in, heading to where the Adventurers' guild is in. "So basically, if there are assassins there, then it is proof that the church is involved. Couldn't Salence just hire people to attack?" Dai'chi says.

"They could, but Salence used to a Kingdom that expanded at a fast rate through war. Any official that isn't corrupt would rather start a full-on war than try to sneak around like that; they have too much pride," Lilith says. They head into the city and quickly head towards the Adventurers' guild. As they walk through the town, Lilith notices a shop. "They have a grimoire shop here, I forgot about that here," She says.

"They probably don't have anything that good," Dai'chi says. "If this area is only guarded by adventurers, then I doubt anyone trusts this place enough to store something that valuable here," he says.

"Normally that would be the case, but this city is near a dungeon, so there tend to be good books around here," she says. They enter the shop. Lilith and Dai'chi look around the shop a bit, even though they know most spells that could be found in magic books. After a bit, they leave the shop. They quickly head towards the Adventurers' guild. The moment they walk in, they notice that something is off. "Like I said, the adventures guild would be the quickest place to prove it." On the upper floor, multiple people hide behind the bookshelves, staring at them. The people start pulling out weapons, preparing to attack.

They both rest their hands on their swords. "Well, let the battle begin, if it will even be able to be called that," Dai'chi says. Someone with a spear at one of the tables watches them.
