Early morning, New York, Kennedy Airport.
A passenger plane from Ohio made an emergency landing here. As the cabin door slowly opened, a pale-skinned man wearing sunglasses walked out with the flow of people.
Amidst the surging crowd disembarking, Sunglasses Man took a deep, almost euphoric breath, feeling as if he were surrounded by a grand feast, enveloped by exquisite delicacies.
But the passengers around him only felt a chill, as if their bodies were being watched by a predator, yet they didn't know where the danger came from.
Sunglasses Man surveyed the "food" around him, then sighed helplessly. Ever since he was forced to sign a contract with the human government, those good old days of drinking a mouthful and then spitting it out were gone forever.
Hopefully, that Hybrid junior of mine can bring me good news this time. Sunglasses Man thought to himself.
It was bright daylight now, and the sunlight directly shone on Sunglasses Man's face, but it was blocked by a thin layer of sunscreen on his skin.
Lightly tightening his black overcoat, the man proceeded towards the city center, unnoticed, with the flow of people.
On the road, the man felt something and glanced to his right.
On another plane arriving from Bangkok, a man with similarly pale skin emerged from the cabin. Their eyes met briefly, and they nodded to each other before moving on.
Like Sunglasses Man, vampires had been arriving from all over the world all day, invited to witness the Blood God's arrival.
In New York City, Matt, just released from the hospital, was undergoing recovery training. Beside him, Punisher was relaying the information he'd gathered over the past few days.
"I've located their gathering place. I don't know why, but their demand for blood has increased dramatically in the last few days. They're definitely preparing something."
"And what do you plan to do?" Matt asked while doing push-ups. "You don't expect me to go with you alone into the vampire's lair, do you?"
"Do you think I'm an idiot?" Punisher could certainly hear the sarcasm in Matt's voice.
With their current street-level hero abilities, they'd struggle to handle a single Vampire with their bare hands. To go into a Vampire nest would be suicide, wouldn't it?
"The situation is beyond our capabilities. I just want to eliminate the evil, and I don't care how it's done," the Punisher said calmly.
"What do you mean?" Matt couldn't help but be slightly taken aback.
"Let's just call the authorities and let them handle this," the Punisher replied.
"You don't mean you want the New York police to handle it, do you?" Matt said, his mouth twitching.
"Of course not. Why would you think that? Relying on the New York police would be worse than trying to solve this ourselves."
"I'm talking about the military and certain secret organizations within the government. If we leak the location of the Vampire gathering place to them, I'm sure they won't just sit idly by," the Punisher said.
Hearing this, Matt considered it and nodded in agreement, thinking the Punisher's suggestion was a good one.
Having discussed the history of Vampires with Blade, who was an expert on the subject, they actually had some understanding of the matter.
Decades ago, these Bloodkin, relying on their superior physical abilities, were arrogant. They looked down on all other races, even within their own ranks, creating a strict hierarchy with purebloods and Hybrids.
But it was also an era of rapid technological advancement, and the Vampires, due to their arrogance, had offended Germany, who were at odds with the Jewish people. Unsurprisingly, the Vampires were added to the list of targets for mass extermination.
Faced with Germany's invention of UV Lamps and Silver Bullets, and with human wave tactics, the German army easily decimated the Vampires, who numbered in the millions, reducing their population to less than one-tenth of its original size. They also drove a large number of Vampires into Concentration Camps for research.
The slaughter was so severe that even the ancient written language of the Bloodkin was lost due to the generational gap.
In the German prisoner-of-war camps at the time, the method for distinguishing between Jews and Vampires was simple: those with a heartbeat were Jews, and those without a heartbeat were Vampires.
Finally, the Vampires, unable to endure the slaughter, were forced to concede. They joined forces with the Allied Nations after signing a non-aggression pact with them to fight against the Fascists.
After the war ended, the Vampires, reduced to less than one percent of their original numbers, naturally lacked the courage to confront humanity. They had been hiding in the shadows, fearing the Germans' brutality.
In Matt's eyes, since these guys could be crushed by the military decades ago, there was no reason for them to fail now, given the current technological advancements. If the government took action, the outcome would definitely be favorable!
Soon, with the combined efforts of the two superheroes, they easily infiltrated the mayor's office.
After shoving a pistol into the mouth of the New York Mayor, who was currently preoccupied with the upcoming election, the Mayor, who highly valued the city's security, immediately forwarded the vampire investigation report. It was then immediately noticed by a department under the United Nations.
Above the waters of the United States, a massive, invisible steel structure was suspended in the sky.
"What are these Vampires up to? Vampires from all over the world are gathering in New York on a large scale. Are they planning to start a war?"
Inside the steel structure, a black man with a single eye covered by an eye patch frowned as he looked at the information delivered by the intelligence personnel. The content displayed was truly terrifying.
Initially, S.H.I.E.L.D., who had noticed the investigation report, didn't pay much attention, thinking it was a minor issue. They only dispatched a small amount of manpower to conduct a thorough investigation.
It turned out that the situation was even more serious than what the Punisher had said. At this moment, New York had at least ten thousand Vampires gathered there.
Facing this group of violent beings, who fed on human blood, riots could break out at any moment. This had already seriously exceeded the initial bottom line.
"Sir, should we send someone to investigate their movements?" Coulson asked from the side, but Nick Fury just shook his head gently.
"No need. These Vampires have crossed the line recently. If we weren't afraid of a desperate last stand, we would have wiped them out long ago. Let General Ross give them a warning."
"Hasn't Ross's biological research project hit a snag because the test subjects escaped? This is a good way to give them something to do."
Nick Fury spoke casually, but the agents present all knew what it meant to have Ross knocking on their door.
Faced with a fully prepared, heavily armed human army looking for trouble, those Vampires, who seemed to have physical qualities beyond humans, were nothing but chickens and dogs.
