Chapter 44 - Sacrifice Ritual

At seven in the evening, a full moon hung in the clouds. Camilla, annoyed, was squatting outside, applying sunscreen. It was the first time she'd been out in over ten days.

Not far from her, Bai Ye, in a casual outfit with a hand in his pocket, lightly pressed the doorbell.

With a gentle ding-dong of the bell, the door immediately opened.

Gwen, dressed in a neat, bright yellow hooded top and light blue straight-leg pants, opened the door and waved happily at Bai Ye. "Perfect timing! I'm ready. Let's go out."

"Yeah, let's go eat first. I remember a Chinese restaurant nearby that's pretty good. I wonder if you'll like it," Bai Ye said with a smile, taking the girl's soft hand in his own.

Surprised by Bai Ye's initiative today, Gwen's face flushed slightly. "Y-yeah, sure, I can try it."

"Let's try it then. After dinner, we can walk around and then go to the movies. I still don't know which movie you're taking me to see today,"

Bai Ye said with a smile, then gently took Gwen's arm, leading her toward the Chinese restaurant. At the same time, he subtly waved his left hand behind his back, signaling Camilla to follow.

"Sigh…" Camilla sighed in exasperation, getting up like a sycophant, trailing at a distance of two hundred meters from Bai Ye, not daring to leave his control.

Two hundred meters, this was Bai Ye's current set safety distance.

With his current movement speed, within this range, as long as he wanted to, he could strike any target within that area in three seconds. This was also the basis for his lack of fear that Camilla would escape.

"By the way, I invited you out today, won't Chief George be angry?" Holding Gwen's hand, Bai Ye asked with a smile, tilting his head.

His handsome face coupled with a gentle smile made Gwen's heart skip a beat, and her gaze nervously shifted away from Bai Ye's face, "No, Dad said I just need to come back early after watching the movie."

"The security in New York City has been a bit bad recently. It makes sense to go back early. I heard there was a murderer who slaughtered a gang a while ago. Did the Chief catch him?" Bai Ye asked, keeping a straight face.

According to psychological research, a large portion of murderers will return to the scene after killing to observe their masterpiece, and Bai Ye's psychology seemed to be the same at this moment.

Hearing Bai Ye ask about the case, Gwen gently shook her head, "That Murderer disappeared after appearing for two days and hasn't been heard from in a long time. Maybe he's hiding."

"So that's how it is?" Bai Ye nodded thoughtfully. It seemed the police hadn't connected him to the case, which was understandable. Who would link him with a bald, disfigured man covered in scars?

Of course, as time passed, Bai Ye wasn't worried about the murder case anymore. The speed at which his strength was increasing far exceeded his expectations.

Someone like him, who could punch with 20 tons of force and move at 100 meters per second, could cause extreme destruction in the city.

Unless the US government was willing to drop a nuclear bomb on New York City, conventional personal weapons wouldn't be able to target him if he had time to react.

Even if someone tried to ambush him, Bai Ye had 0.2 free attribute points, so any injuries could be instantly healed by adding points.

That was also why he dared to pursue the police chief's daughter directly.

In the heart of New York City, at the base of a giant building made of white marble, twelve massive stone pillars carved with ancient patterns stood in all directions.

Countless pale-skinned men and women gathered here, all gazing at the man in the center.

"Fellow kin, our race has endured the oppression of humans for far too long. I am weary of the various negative effects that come with being a vampire. But after today, we will no longer have to suffer." Diken, the vampire, declared, opening his arms to the gathered Vampires.

"According to deciphered ancient texts, the original Vampires possessed no weaknesses."

"As long as we perform a sacrifice on the night of the full moon, with twelve pure-blood Vampires, combined with the blood of a Daywalker, we can summon the Blood God to bestow a blessing upon us. From then on, we will be able to walk in the sunlight without harm."

"And I, as the progenitor of a new lineage of Vampires, will Embrace you, erasing the flaws in your genes that make you vulnerable to sunlight and silver."

As Diken laid out this vision of the future, the breathing of the numerous men and women in the crowd began to quicken.

The reason they were suppressed by humans was because of their fatal weaknesses. But if what Diken said was true, and they became transcendent beings without any weaknesses, the Vampires would once again stand at the top of the food chain.

Of course, the most important thing was, if this sacrifice method was correct, it wouldn't just create a new lineage of Vampires. It would also replicate the ritual repeatedly, resulting in countless main branches of Vampires.

Watching the Vampires he'd stirred up, Diken laughed maniacally in his heart. These people had no idea that the sacrifice could not only be repeated in terms of quantity, but also that the same Vampire could participate multiple times.

12 Pureblood Vampires + Daywalker = A New Vampire Lineage

What would happen if this were replicated again?

According to the ancient texts, similar sacrifices could be repeated almost indefinitely.

In his eyes, those present were not his kin, but merely resources for his advancement. This was why he risked being discovered to gather vampires from around the world.

To fight against the human government, at least five Purification Rituals must be performed tonight, with a minimum of 60 Pureblood Vampires. These here should be enough, Diken thought.

With a wave of his hand, twelve selected Pureblood Vampires, stripped of their ability to resist, were placed beneath the ritual pillars. The ceremony began under the gaze of all the vampires present.

Above this space, Blade, who had been imprisoned for many days, had his wrists cut open with a blade, and a large amount of blood flowed through the pipes toward the sacrificial ritual.

"So this is the gathering place of those vampire bastards?"

At the same time, outside the building, a man in a U.S. military uniform, a cigarette dangling from his mouth, stared at the ancient architecture and murmured. Behind him stood thousands of heavily armed U.S. soldiers.

"Don't talk once you're inside. Knock out all the Vampires with the tranquilizer guns," Ross said. Immediately, a large group of soldiers began marching inside.
