Ten minutes earlier, in New York City.
Camilla stared at the television screen, tugging helplessly at the corner of her mouth.
How had things escalated so quickly? One moment she'd agreed to grab dinner with friends, and the next, it looked like World War III was breaking out.
Before she could even process it, her villa was surrounded by dozens of heavily armed agents.
At the lead officer's command, the front door was blown apart, and waves of agents stormed inside.
Hearing the commotion, Camilla rolled her eyes, stood up, and casually grabbed a fruit knife from the kitchen before walking toward the noise.
The instant she met the agents at the door, her figure moved like lightning—in the blink of an eye, the throats of more than ten agents were slashed open.
Holding the blood-stained fruit knife, Camilla sneered at the fallen men."If I can't even protect myself after two months of feeding, that blood would've been wasted."
Inside the Fisk Tower, Kingpin—his body ninety percent muscle and strengthened further by the "White Night Everyone Trains 2.0" technique—took bullets as if they were nothing. With one motion, he tore a soldier apart.
"Mayor of New York?" Kingpin grinned wickedly. "I've lost interest in that title.Following Mr. Bai, I might as well aim for Vice President."
Nearby, his lieutenants like Tombstone were fighting as well.
In their minds, a shared fantasy had taken shape—one even echoing a certain "Mr. Li" from another world:When we storm the White House, take the throne, Brother Bai becomes President, Boss Kingpin becomes Vice President, and each of us gets a government post… how perfect would that be?
Meanwhile, in the city center, Gwen trembled as she looked down at several fallen, bloodied agents.
Beside her, a woman radiating inner power smiled softly."Don't be afraid. We're acting under Mr. Bai's orders to protect you, Miss Gwen.Just stay calm for a few minutes—everything will be fine soon."
At the nuclear blast site outside New York, Bai Ye floated effortlessly in midair, sustained by his inner force, quietly waiting for the next attack.
Two minutes later, he raised his head.
From the heavens, a tungsten rod—thirty centimeters thick, ten meters long, weighing thirteen tons—fell toward him at terrifying speed, accelerated by gravity.
"A kinetic bombardment weapon? People still use such inefficient toys?" Bai Ye chuckled. Then he remembered: S.H.I.E.L.D. had anti-gravity tech. Launching tungsten rods into orbit wouldn't be hard for them.
Not that it mattered.
He raised his right hand and caught the descending rod head-on.
At the moment of impact, the energy equivalent of more than thirty tons of TNT exploded on his arm—like an intercontinental missile detonating.
His right arm sank under the immense force, bones groaning and cracking—yet he still stopped the tungsten rod cold.
Moments later, as his arm regenerated, all that remained in his hand was a metal sphere no larger than a fist.
"Boom!"
Without hesitation, Bai Ye locked onto the satellite that had fired the weapon. After a ten-second burst of acceleration, he pierced through the atmosphere, reaching space.
Facing the orbital platform, he hurled the tungsten sphere. The sheer kinetic force shattered the satellite from kilometers away, blowing it apart instantly.
Back on Earth, the monitoring room went silent again. In the White House, President Ellis was at a loss for words after hearing that Bai Ye had survived even that.
"Mr. President, the plane is ready," an agent reminded him. Bai Ye would reach Washington soon.
Ellis looked up, bloodshot eyes meeting those of Vice President Rodriguez."Tell me—how did it come to this?"
Rodriguez only sighed, speechless.
"You're not running?" Ellis pressed.
Rodriguez hesitated, then said, "Why don't we surrender? If even a hydrogen bomb couldn't kill him, what could possibly defeat him?"
Surrender…? Ellis looked down, silent. His pride as President made the thought unbearable.
After a long pause, he asked quietly, "Do you think he'll let us live?"
"If we surrender, probably," Rodriguez replied. "I sent a friendly message to him through Kingpin just yesterday."
Ellis turned to him with a strange look.
Rodriguez spread his hands innocently. "As you always say—hedging your bets on both sides is just smart politics. You all underestimated him. I just took him a little more seriously, that's all."
"So, are you leaving?" Rodriguez asked again.
"…I'm tired. Let it all end."
Pushing away the agents who tried to support him, Ellis sighed wearily."If he wants to rule, let him. It's not like we're the only country that'll suffer."
"Damn these so-called superhumans," Ellis muttered bitterly, his composure as President gone."Since when can a carbon-based life form survive a nuke? Damn it all."
Looking up at the sky, Bai Ye checked the time."Fifty-five minutes. It should be about time.Hopefully they make the right choice," he said quietly, before vanishing in a flash—heading straight for Washington.
At ten times the speed of sound, the shockwave of his flight tore through the air, the turbulence alone shredding metal in a hundred-meter radius.
Without slowing, he plunged into Washington.Windows shattered across the city as he passed.
Then, at the fifty-ninth minute—a thunderous boom echoed as Bai Ye came to a stop before the White House gates.
Through the lingering smoke, his gaze locked on the President and Vice President waiting ahead.
"Oh?" Bai Ye smiled, stepping out of the haze."Looks like you've made your decision."
"Well, heroes truly do rise young," Rodriguez said cheerfully as he approached."From now on, whatever Mr. Bai says, we will obey completely."
"Smart men adapt," Bai Ye said with a faint smile. "So—you've chosen surrender?"
Even the Secret Service agents nearby couldn't hide their tension. The pressure in the air was suffocating.
"Of course, Mr. Bai," Rodriguez said quickly. "You remember me, right? I sent word through Kingpin yesterday—"
Before he could finish, Bai Ye brushed past him."This doesn't concern you."
He stopped in front of Ellis."And you? I haven't heard your answer."
"I… I surrender too," Ellis said hoarsely, face ashen.
Still reluctant, I see, Bai Ye thought. He smiled faintly. "In that case… kneel."
"…What?" Everyone froze.
"I said—kneel when you speak to me." Bai Ye's voice turned cold."Losers kneel before the victor. Is there a problem with that?"
