CHAPTER 2 :Curious Akirion
Akirion ran back to the house, his face pale and scared. He tried to hide his fear with a fake smile, but his father, Eriolth, noticed something was wrong.
"Akie, are you okay?" Eriolth asked, concern etched on his face.
Akirion forced a smile. "Of course, Dad, just... I'm feeling thirsty, that's all." He drank some water, trying to calm himself.
During dinner, Akirion's parents chatted about rumors of demon monsters. Eriolth's voice was laced with worry. "There are crazy demon monster rumors nowadays; I wonder if they are real."
Mirabel, Akirion's mother, reassured him. "Ohh, that? Yeah, maybe, but I think it's only part of the crazy stories."
As they prepared for bed, Akirion went to his room, his mind racing. "What was that? Scary. Was it a wise idea not to tell Mom and Dad?"
Meanwhile, Eriolth and Mirabel discussed their son's future. "I don't want anything to happen to my only son," Eriolth said, his voice filled with concern.
Mirabel smiled. "Yeah, he's got a bright future ahead, and I hope he will change his mind about the knight stuff, because that's the most dangerous work ever."
Eriolth chuckled. "Yeah, it's risky, and the good part is that he doesn't know that I was a..."
Mirabel whispered, "Shh, what if he overhears you?"
As Akirion lay in bed, he couldn't shake off the image of the scary red eyes. "Was I dreaming? Should I tell Dad? No, they will say I've started seeing things at a young age."
The next morning, Akirion woke up to an empty house. He stretched and yawned, "Ahh, it's morning already." The memory of the previous day's events flooded back.
Akirion spotted a scabbard in his parents' room and his curiosity got the better of him. "Whoa, is that a scabbard? Wow, it looks like it fits a big sword in it." He touched the scabbard and saw a shiny silver metal sword.
Just then, Mirabel appeared, looking disturbed. "Akie, what are you doing here? That sword..."
Akirion asked, "Whose sword is this one?"
Mirabel hesitated. "Ahh, no one really... It's for... ummm... decorations. Yeah, it's for decorating the house."
Akirion wasn't convinced. "Such a good sword for decoration?"
Later, Akirion asked his father about the sword. Eriolth dodged the question, "Could you please pick up that log for me, please?"
Akirion's curiosity grew. "Why did Mom react the same way you did?"
As the day passed, Eriolth and Mirabel discussed telling Akirion the truth. "So, how long are you going to hide your identity from your son?" Mirabel asked.
Eriolth replied, "I feel like he's old enough to know. I can't believe that he saw that sword today."
Mirabel warned, "Don't play with my curious Akirion; he is a good detective. You wouldn't tell him, he will find the truth."
Eriolth decided, "It will be better to tell him; tomorrow will be the day to tell him."
