Chapter 44 - Once Again

Dreykov's private jet landed at a secret Base on the outskirts of Moscow. The cabin door slowly opened, and Chen Tian, accompanied by 2B, Madara, Dante, and Vergil, slowly walked down the gangway. Dreykov followed behind them like a puppet on strings, his eyes vacant and his steps mechanical.

The core members of the Red Room were already lined up on the tarmac, waiting. When they clearly saw the faces of the arrivals, Alexei and Melina, standing at the very front, simultaneously widened their eyes.

"This... isn't this our neighbors, the Sparta family?" Alexei blurted out, his rugged face filled with shock. He unconsciously stroked his beard, as if to confirm this wasn't an illusion.

Melina's elegant posture wavered for the first time. Her gaze swept back and forth between Chen Tian and 2B, finally settling on the silver-haired girl who always helped her pick up dropped shopping bags. "Yorha?" Her voice carried a hint of uncertainty.

Chen Tian showed a gentle smile, just like when they occasionally met in the neighborhood: "Long time no see, Mr. Alexei, Ms. Melina."

Alexei's muscles tensed under his suit. He looked at the dazed Dreykov, then at the group of neighbors behind Chen Tian.

Melina quickly regained her composure, but her gaze remained sharp: "Who exactly are you people?"

Chen Tian took a step forward, and Dreykov immediately respectfully retreated behind him. This simple action made all the Red Room Agents gasp.

"Just as I said before," Chen Tian's tone was as casual as if he were discussing today's weather, "we are indeed your neighbors. It's just that..." He paused, his smile deepening, "we also happen to be here to take over the Red Room."

— — — —

In the Red Room's conference room, Dreykov sat in the main seat, while Chen Tian stood behind him, his hands resting on his shoulders, his posture casual yet conveying an undeniable sense of control.

"Everyone," Dreykov began, his voice steady, but his tone sounded as if he were reading from a script, "from today onwards, the Red Room's highest decision-making power will be transferred to Comrade Melina."

The conference room instantly erupted.

"What?!" Alexei stood up abruptly, his chair crashing to the floor. "Comrade Dreykov, what nonsense are you spouting?!"

Other high-ranking officials also showed expressions of shock, some even directly pulling out guns and pointing them at Chen Tian: "What did you do to him?!"

Dante whistled, Rebellion spinning in his fingers: "Whoa, are we going to fight?"

Vergil snorted coldly, Yamato slightly unsheathed, a cold glint flashing.

Madara's Sharingan silently rotated, and everyone in the conference room suddenly froze—their movements, breathing, and even thoughts were instantly suppressed by the illusion.

Chen Tian ignored the frozen individuals and looked at Melina, the only one who could still move.

"It seems you are much smarter than them."

Melina's pupils constricted slightly, but her expression remained calm: "Illusion? Mind control?"

"More or less." Chen Tian smiled, "Dreykov is useless now, but the Red Room still has value. And you—"

He slowly walked towards her, his voice carrying a hint of danger.

—you are more suitable to manage it than Dreykov."

Melina was silent for a few seconds, then let out a soft laugh: "Why do you think I'll cooperate?"

"Because you are not a madman like Dreykov." Chen Tian looked directly into her eyes, "You know better than anyone that the Red Room's 'Black Widow Project' is essentially a failure—those girls are brainwashed and controlled, eventually either becoming emotionless killing machines or waiting for an opportunity to completely overthrow the Red Room."

Melina's gaze wavered slightly.

"But you are different." Chen Tian continued, "I can see that your feelings for Natasha and Yelena, after your uterus was removed, you truly treated them as your children."

Melina's breathing hitched slightly.

"So, I'll give you a choice." Chen Tian spread his hands, "Become the new Master of the Red Room, and transform it my way—or, like Dreykov, become my puppet."

The air in the conference room seemed to solidify.

A few seconds later, Melina slowly looked up, "If I agree, what do I get?"

"Freedom." Chen Tian smiled, "True freedom. The Red Room will become your home, not your cage."

Melina stared at him, seemingly judging the truth of his words. Finally, she nodded slightly:

"Deal."

That night, the Red Room's database was completely updated.

— — — —

Dreykov 'voluntarily' signed the power transfer documents, and then he and his loyalists were taken to the deepest execution chamber of the Red Room.

Chen Tian stood outside the one-way glass, indifferently watching everything inside. Dreykov finally woke up from the illusion. He suddenly looked up, his eyes flashing with fear and anger, but it was too late—his throat was slit, and blood splattered on the cold metal floor.

"I don't need puppets, and I certainly don't need hidden dangers." Chen Tian said indifferently, then turned and left.

The new order of the Red Room, from this moment on, completely erased the traces of the old era.

When Alexei learned that Melina had taken over the Red Room, he furiously stormed into the conference room, but upon seeing Madara's Sharingan, he fell silent. Ultimately, he chose to accept reality—after all, compared to Dreykov, Melina at least wouldn't treat him as a guinea pig.

And Melina stood in the Red Room's command center, looking at the new directives flashing on the screen—

[Red Room Reorganization Plan]

1. Terminate all underage Agent training, convert to regular education

2. Existing Black Widow Agents to be released from mind control, with voluntary choice to stay or leave

3. Red Room to transform into an independent intelligence organization. Goal—Protect the World.

She gently exhaled, then turned to look at Chen Tian, who was standing in the shadows: "Are you sure this will work?"

"Of course." Chen Tian smiled, "After all, from now on, the Red Room has only one enemy—"

—everyone who wants to destroy World peace."

— — — —

Three days later, Natasha and Yelena were sent to a safe house in Norway.

When Melina personally appeared and told them, "The Red Room will never hunt you again," Natasha's expression changed from wary to incredulous.

"Why?" she asked.

Melina looked at her for a long time, then finally said softly: "Because someone made me understand—some things are more important than control."

Yelena tilted her head: "What is it?"

Melina ruffled her hair, a rare smile appearing:

"Feelings."

— — — —

Chen Tian stood on the roof of the Red Room, overlooking this vast Agent empire.

2B walked up to him: "Master, the plan is going smoothly. All the brainwashing programs jointly developed by HYDRA and the Red Room have been cracked."

"It's just the beginning." Chen Tian chuckled, "The Red Room is just the first step, next—"

His gaze stretched into the distance, as if piercing through the clouds, looking directly at some larger Shadow.

—it's time for HYDRA to taste what it's like to be bitten by the monster it created."

— — — —

Siberia HYDRA Secret Base

The moment the heavy blast door was blown open, HYDRA Commander Klaus Schneider was still leisurely drinking coffee.

"Alarm! Red Room Agents attacking!" a heart-wrenching shout came from the intercom.

Schneider sneered, putting down his coffee cup: "What's the panic? The Red Room is our ally."

The next second, the remnants of the blast door crashed down, and a woman in a red combat suit emerged from the dust—Melina Vostokoff.

Schneider's expression froze.

"Ally?" Melina sneered, her twin pistols simultaneously cocking, "No, from today on, the Red Room is HYDRA's gravedigger."

— — — —

New York Wall Street Underground Vault

HYDRA Financial Director Hank was counting piles of U.S. dollars when he suddenly heard a rhythmic knocking sound from the vault door.

"Who?" He cautiously reached for the submachine gun under the table.

"Room service." A sweet female voice came from outside the door.

Just as Hank breathed a sigh of relief, the door was kicked open. A silver-haired girl holding a White katana slowly walked in, followed by a dozen fully armed former Black Widow Agents.

"Yorha, on behalf of the Red Room, liquidate HYDRA's assets." The girl's mechanical eyes flickered with blue light. "Friendly reminder: Resistance is futile. P.S., you are also about to become useless."

Hank watched the Black Widows, once brainwashed by HYDRA, now with eyes burning with the fire of revenge.

He suddenly understood—HYDRA's doom had arrived.

New York · HYDRA Asia Headquarters

When Dante kicked open the door to the top-floor conference room, HYDRA's Asian leader was burning documents.

"Yo, busy destroying evidence?" His red trench coat flapped, and Rebellion spun at his fingertips. "Need a hand?"

Vergil stepped out from behind him, Yamato flashing with cold light, and all the filing cabinets and the leader were instantly sliced into neat fragments.

"This is faster," the blue-clad warrior said coldly.

"Big bro, can't you let me finish my cool line?" Dante spread his hands helplessly.

— — — —

Melina walked quickly through the central hall, where screens flickered, and data streams flowed through her fingertips. She suddenly paused in front of a giant tactical screen, where 57% of HYDRA strongholds had changed from red to blue. But just then, a golden emblem popped up on the edge of the screen—the World Security Council's symbol.

"Chen Tian," her voice carried a hint of gravity. "The situation has changed."

Chen Tian slowly emerged from the shadows, the hem of his trench coat gently swaying: "The Council finally couldn't sit still?"

Melina quickly pulled up an emergency communication record. The screen showed representatives from the five permanent member states of the World Security Council holding an emergency meeting. "They just passed a special resolution, defining the Red Room as a 'global threat,'" she pointed to a section of text, "demanding S.H.I.E.L.D. take immediate action."

Chen Tian stood in front of the floor-to-ceiling window, gently stroking his chin. Suddenly, he chuckled softly: "Notify all field teams to activate 'Hibernation Protocol.'"

Melina raised an eyebrow: "Full stealth?"

"Only on the surface," Chen Tian turned. "Let the snakeheads controlling the Council think they've won this psychological battle."

A profound light flashed in Chen Tian's eyes: "I need to go to an important place." He pressed his wristband. "Tell Shadow, I need him to temporarily take my place."

With that, he turned and left the command hall. Before stepping out of the hall's door, Chen Tian stopped and turned to look at Melina.

"I heard Natasha and Yelena are taking Agent courses?"

Melina nodded helplessly, "Yes, I couldn't stop them. They said they hoped they could help."

Chen Tian chuckled, "Alright, tell them to work hard. Oh, and Shadow will take over next. You can appropriately listen to his opinions; as long as he's not with Dante, his intelligence is still very much online. Of course, you're still the boss."

— — — —

Chen Tian stood in front of the Shiva Temple in Durbar Square, the twilight sun casting a long shadow behind him. For three days, he had walked through every dark alley of this ancient city—Kamar-Taj seemed not to exist in this dimension at all.

"Master, no discoveries so far," 2B's voice came through the earpiece. She was controlling three invisible drones patrolling the city.

Chen Tian had just turned when he was suddenly stopped by a small boy in an orange monastic robe. "Sir, would you like to buy an amulet?" The child held up a string of bone ornaments, one copper coin engraved with the pattern of a mystic ring.

His pupils contracted slightly; this was clearly an entry-level magical artifact from Kamar-Taj. Just as he was about to ask, the little boy gave a sly smile: "Twenty dollars, and a complimentary afternoon tea with the Sorcerer Supreme."

Chen Tian followed the boy through a dark alley. When he stepped into the building with the dilapidated sign 'Himalayan Teahouse,' the entire space suddenly twisted and deformed like paper crumpled by an invisible hand. Before the space could fully reassemble, his figure had already transformed into an afterimage.

"Ancient One! What timeline am I on now?!" Chen Tian instantly teleported in front of Ancient One, who was brewing tea, and slapped his palm heavily on the tea table. The cups and saucers on the sandalwood tea tray trembled violently, and the Nebula-like tea mist was torn apart by the strong wind.

Cracks spread across the sandalwood tea tray like a spiderweb. Ancient One slowly looked up. Chen Tian's palm froze in mid-air—that bald head, once smooth as porcelain, was now covered with fine wrinkles, and even her iconic serene smile bore the marks of time's erosion.

"What... happened to you?" Chen Tian frowned. Ancient One shouldn't be like this. The Ancient One of 1996 should still look eternally youthful.

The golden magical array at Ancient One's fingertips was disintegrating, and tea mist condensed into ice crystals in her wrinkles. "Very curious?" She pushed the boiling teapot towards Chen Tian. "Didn't Diablo tell you?"

Chen Tian stared at her branch-like fingers: "He didn't say that much."

"To mend the dimensional collapse caused by Diablo's power and the self-destruction of the three Dimension Demon Gods, I had to use the power of the Time Stone." Ancient One suddenly coughed violently, and black blood appeared in the tea. "Dormammu's dark energy can only delay my Death now; it cannot reverse it."

"That's not right. Strange used the power of time, and he wasn't like this," Chen Tian sat beside Ancient One.

"Haha, he could only use a small portion of it. If he used all of it, he would be like me," Ancient One laughed.

Chen Tian sighed, "What should I do next?"

Ancient One smiled and waved her hand, and the blood-stained tea returned to its original state. "The me of this time is still the same, but the me of 2010 will probably die."

"That fast? So Strange now..." Chen Tian asked in shock.

Ancient One looked at him and shook her head, "My estimate is that if I no longer use my power and use my remaining strength to maintain my body, I can still hold on until Strange comes to find me."

"Then... who will protect the World from Dimension Demon God invasion?"

"Do you think the World is safe from Dimension Demon Gods because I exist? Did you forget Thor's father?"

"True, but it should be because both of you are here, right?"

"Mm, so next, the World will suffer a lot of hardships. Nothing major, but there will be many minor ones. For example, there will be many more Dimension Demon God cultists."

"That's good. How is Tony doing now?"

"Not well. He's been looking for you. Especially his attitude towards Steve Rogers, Bucky Barnes, and those twins is extremely bad."

"Then can you help me notify him?"

"Emm, yes, anyway, I'm like this now, and I can't stop people from messing with the timeline, so I might as well just let it be. What message do you want me to take back?"

"Just say I'm doing well, protect the World, eliminate all the troublemakers, and remember to buy me every new 3A masterpiece."

"You, is that all? Aren't you going to leave anything behind? You control the Red Room now. You just need to tell Tony to go to the Red Room, and he can get the information you left."

"It doesn't matter. He doesn't need the Red Room's intelligence, and I don't know what to leave him. It feels a bit sentimental."

"Alright, then I'll convey your words to him. Oh, what was I supposed to tell you when I came here?"

"Hmm? Didn't I come to find you? Why did you come?"

As Chen Tian finished speaking, his body began to glow with a Emerald Green light.

Ancient One saw the light and suddenly realized, "That's right! Your body still has residual energy from the Time Stone. You might be occasionally teleported to different time nodes."

At this moment, Chen Tian's mouth was wide open, looking back and forth between his blurring figure and Ancient One's face.

"You... why didn't you say so earlier? You should have said it earlier!" Chen Tian shouted angrily.

"I'm old, I don't remember things very clearly," Ancient One picked up a teacup and took a sip.

"You..." Chen Tian's words were cut short as his figure vanished into thin air.

Ancient One looked at the vanished Chen Tian, tilted her head, "What was I here for?"
