The dark clouds over Washington District churned like a boiling vortex, as Olympus's golden lightning intertwined and collided with Asgard's blue-white electricity in the clouds, each clash exploding with ear-shattering roars.
The entire city trembled in the divine battle; glass curtain walls of skyscrapers shattered in sheets, and car alarms on the streets shrieked like dying cries.
Thor stood atop the ruins of a building, mjolnir trembling in his hand, ancient lightning flowing through the Uru runes on its hammerhead.
His cape whipped wildly in the hurricane, and the battle intent in his eyes was fiercer than any lightning.
A hundred meters away, Zeus stood on a bolt of lightning, the legendary Lightning Spear, which had once defeated the Titans, spitting destructive golden light in his hand.
The King of Gods' snow-white beard floated in the static electricity, his eyes filled with condescending mockery.
"Son of Odin," Zeus's voice was wrapped in thunder, "even your father wouldn't dare face my lightning directly!"
Thor swung Mjolnir in an arc: "Then let the Nine Realms see who is truly worthy to wield lightning!"
mjolnir transformed into a silver-white meteor, heading straight for the King of Gods' face. Zeus merely lightly turned the tip of his spear—
"Boom!"
Golden lightning snakes burst from the spear tip, and Mjolnir flew back even faster, piercing through five steel skyscrapers consecutively.
Thor leaped up to catch the still-trembling weapon, and blood immediately burst from his tiger's mouth.
"A god who relies on external objects," Zeus scoffed, raising the Lightning Spear, and a thousand-meter-diameter thunderstorm vortex immediately condensed in the clouds, "Let me show you true divine retribution!"
A World-destroying golden pillar of light crashed down.
Thor roared, crossing his arms, and mjolnir erupted with unprecedented blue-white lightning.
The moment the two divine powers collided, the Impact leveled Capitol Hill, and the glass of buildings within a ten-mile radius simultaneously turned to dust.
"Bang! Bang! Bang!"
Thor retreated step by step in the thunderstorm, each step leaving a charred footprint on the ground. His armor melted into molten iron, revealing his coiled muscles beneath, but the hand holding the hammer remained motionless.
Zeus raised an eyebrow: "Your body is quite robust."
"This is just the beginning!" Thor spat out a clot of blood, then suddenly spun and threw Mjolnir.
Mjolnir, wreathed in lightning, drew a spiral in the air, its trajectory unpredictable.
Zeus extended his other hand, and a shield already appeared on his forearm—Zeus's Shield, Aegis. The moment the shield and the divine hammer collided—
"Boom!!!"
The entire city trembled violently, and the Impact lifted the ground in a hundred-meter-high wave of earth.
Thor's arm muscles bulged, veins coiling like enraged dragons beneath his skin, while Zeus's robes merely fluttered slightly.
"Your brute strength is passable." Zeus put away his shield, and the tail end of the Lightning Spear heavily struck Thor's chest, "But lightning isn't used like this!"
Thor flew backward like a cannonball, crashing through seven buildings consecutively before stopping.
He knelt in the ruins, discovering a faint crack on mjolnir's hammerhead.
"Watch closely, boy." Zeus inserted the Lightning Spear into his chest; the Lightning Spear flowed into Zeus's body like water. He raised both hands, and golden lightning rushed into the sky, the entire thundercloud above him began to gather towards him, "Divine retribution—"
Billions of golden lightning bolts condensed into a blazing white orb at the spear tip; the energy it contained began to distort space.
Thor's pupils reflected the giant spherical lightning, yet he bared his blood-stained teeth.
"I am not just Asgard's Thor! I am also the Son of Odin!" He roared, swinging mjolnir into a silver-white halo, and a hurricane rose to the sky with him at its center.
Zeus sneered, throwing the Orb of Lightning: "Be annihilated!"
The Orb of Lightning thrown by Zeus descended, and Thor fearlessly charged, but he was like an ant rushing into a flood; the blue-white lightning disintegrated the moment it touched the golden divine retribution.
First, the sound disappeared.
Then came the light.
A wound stretching across the sky was torn open above Washington District; all colors were annihilated in the absolute white light.
The Impact spread in a ring, and the skyscrapers along its path collapsed like building blocks, concrete directly vaporizing in the high temperature. The Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool, kilometers away, instantly evaporated, and the marble columns turned into dust, scattering in the wind.
When the colors between heaven and earth returned, Thor was already embedded in the ruins three blocks away.
His body plowed a deep ditch in the ruins, Mjolnir rolled thirty meters away, the indestructible Mjolnir was already covered in cracks, fragments of his cape were still burning, his armor was shattered, blood stained his beard, and the lightning in his eyes was as faint as a candle in the wind.
He struggled to his feet, looking at the confused Hulk, "Hulk...be careful—"
Before he finished speaking, golden lightning struck Thor from the sky.
The divine power in the lightning made the already powerless Thor let out a painful roar.
Zeus's mocking voice drifted through the air.
"Little brat, are you the God of Hammers or the God of Thunder? Didn't Odin teach you not to rely on external objects?"
Hulk's eyes widened in anger, and faint golden light seeped from the cracks in the Taurus Cloth, like dying embers.
He heard the crisp sound of Thor's bones shattering in the lightning and smelled the scent of charred flesh.
"Don't! Hurt! Hulk's! Friend!"
Hulk's roar attracted Zeus's attention, "Even a Beast has friends?"
Hulk roared again, and the golden patterns of the Cloth suddenly surged, but then dimmed the moment they reached their brightest—Hulk's physical and mental strength had reached their limit after the bitter battle with Ares.
But this did not prevent Hulk from shooting into the sky like a cannonball, the ground beneath his feet collapsing into a crater from the recoil.
Zeus didn't even move his feet. He merely lightly raised his left index finger.
"Bang!"
A golden lightning bolt, only as thick as an arm, precisely struck Hulk's chest. The Hulk flew backward faster than he charged, penetrating twelve buildings consecutively before crashing into the Potomac River, raising a hundred-meter-high wall of Water.
"A pathetic monster." Zeus spun the Lightning Spear, its tip pointing at the churning vortex on the river, "Your anger can't even please me."
A body floated up in the river's current, no longer Hulk, but Banner's scrawny physique. Zeus's strike had completely submerged the exhausted Hulk, who had been in a bitter battle with the God of War, into the water.
Zeus turned his gaze back to Thor, who was kneeling on the scorched earth, golden lightning coiling around his limbs like chains. With each lightning strike, the muffled sound of flesh bursting could be heard.
"Look at you now." Zeus said disdainfully, "After all this time, your father hasn't even made a move to save his own child. It seems Odin is old, so old that..."
"Shut up!"
Upon hearing Zeus's contemptuous words, Thor's eyes were about to split open, the lightning chains wrapped around his body shattered inch by inch, and blue-white electric light gushed from every pore.
"I won't allow—" Thor staggered to his feet, his shattered armor clanking as it fell, "you to insult—" With each word he spoke, the lightning in his eyes grew fiercer, "my father!"
Zeus saw the blue-white electric light erupting from Thor's body undergoing a qualitative change—the lightning was no longer conducted from mjolnir, but gushing directly from Thor's body.
A hint of interest flashed in Zeus's eyes: "Interesting..."
Thor's fists had already condensed two masses of liquid lightning, and the scorched earth beneath his feet melted into lava under the surge of divine power. Just as he was about to leap, he suddenly froze in place.
A wisp of black smoke seeped from a crack in the ground, coiling around his ankle like a venomous snake.
"What—?"
The black smoke spread at an alarming rate, covering Thor's entire body in an instant. The smoke, as if alive, burrowed into his nostrils, ear canals, and even seeped from the corners of his eyes. Thor was horrified to find that his newly awakened divine power was being rapidly eroded.
"Underworld Power?!" He turned his head with difficulty to look at Zeus.
Before he finished speaking, the black smoke suddenly surged. Thick, inky mist completely enveloped Thor, forming a writhing cocoon. A muffled thud came from within the cocoon, followed by silence.
After Thor fainted, the black smoke receded from him like a tide, then quickly condensed into a mass and began to spin like a whirlwind, and Hades's figure appeared in the whirlwind.
Lightning churned in Zeus's eyes, about to furiously rebuke Hades for meddling, but then he saw the King of the Underworld's pale finger slowly pointing into the distance.
"Brother, your attention is entirely on a little brat who just awakened his divine power..." Hades's voice was deep, as if coming from the depths of the Underworld, "But you haven't noticed that your child is about to die?"
Suddenly, a dazzling golden light erupted from the distant horizon; the fluctuation of Sun divine power caused the ruins in the distant district to begin to burn. Zeus's pupils constricted—that was Apollo's aura, but mixed with the decay of near-Death.
"Boom!"
The King of Olympus transformed into a lightning bolt that pierced heaven and earth, leaving a golden trail in the air wherever he passed.
Hades looked in the direction his brother had departed, a cold smile playing at the corner of his mouth beneath his black robe. He leaned down to examine the unconscious Thor, and black smoke again seeped from his fingertips.
"Son of Odin..." The King of the Underworld smiled sinisterly, "Let's see what you can bring to the Underworld..."
Hades extended his hand, wreathed in black smoke, towards Thor's head, but it was suddenly firmly clamped by a pale yet scarred large hand.
The King of the Underworld looked up in astonishment, meeting a pair of cold eyes.
It was a man as burly as a mountain, his gray-white skin covered in ancient battle scars, chains wrapped around his forearms, a full beard, and beneath a vertical scar that ran through his right eye, his left face bore a red striped tattoo extending from behind his head.
"You—" The souls under Hades's black robe began to shriek.
The man's other hand tightly gripped a battle-axe, and a cold icy aura slowly seeped from the axe blade.
The man slowly opened his mouth, his voice like steel ground against gravel. His words were simple:
"Leave, or die."
Fear appeared in Hades's eyes; he saw the mountains of corpses and seas of blood appearing behind this man—that was an epic of countless slain gods, a monstrous blood-fire that even the World could hardly contain.
The King of the Underworld's figure burst into thousands of black smoke, and when he re-condensed a hundred meters away, his black robe was largely torn. He took one last look at the unconscious Thor, then gazed deeply at the unfamiliar man, transforming into black mist and escaping into a crack in the ground.
The moment Hades disappeared, 2B's figure suddenly appeared. She was carrying a soaking wet Banner in her right hand, and water droplets on her white short hair refracted tiny glints of light in the sunlight.
"Injury assessment: severe." She knelt on one knee, her tactical visor quickly scanning Thor's charred wounds, and took out a nano-medical spray from her waist pouch.
The blue repair mist sizzled as soon as it touched the wound.
The man heavily planted his ice battle-axe into the ground, crossing his hands to rest them on the top of the axe handle.
He made no other movements, simply standing quietly beside 2B, like a statue.
2B glanced up at him, her fingers constantly operating on the medical panel: "Master required you to act in a crisis."
"I'm tired of war." The man's voice was deep like muffled thunder, his gaze fixed on Ares, half-submerged in the pool in the distant ruins, "Especially war against gods."
2B's brow furrowed almost imperceptibly. She said no more, turning instead to inject Banner with adrenaline, and the nano-medical robots began to repair Banner's broken ribs.
The man silently gazed at the sky, where the golden trail of Zeus's departure was dissipating.
His rough fingers unconsciously stroked the ancient runes on the axe handle, and the chains made a faint clinking sound.
"But you must participate.
If Stark and the Arbitrators die, Master will be very angry."
2B didn't even raise her head, focused on healing Thor and Banner.
The man's tightly furrowed brow deepened again.
After a moment of thought, he sighed, "I will go, but once I make a move, there will only be Death and destruction."
2B didn't reply, and the man said no more.
Instead, he walked into the distance, and as he passed Ares, he stopped, then raised his battle-axe.
The battle-axe, imbued with red fury, struck down, and Ares's head rolled to the ground.
In an instant, a crimson blood-light shot into the sky, like a volcanic eruption, piercing straight through the clouds.
Countless wailing battle-souls were faintly visible within the blood-light, dyeing the entire sky blood-red.
"Another God of War…" the man murmured, the frost on the axe-blade freezing Ares's blood into crimson crystals.
He no longer looked at the red light, but slowly walked towards another battlefield.
Meanwhile, on another battlefield—
Zeus's Thunder Spear simultaneously parried the Winged Dragon of Ra's claws and Apollo's fist.
The King of Gods' beard wildly swayed in the energy storm, as thunder and the Sun intertwined around him, forming a dazzling energy storm.
"Enough!" Zeus's voice overpowered the energy roar, and the Thunder Spear erupted with blinding golden light.
"I didn't expect even the gods of Egypt to join the fun!"
The Winged Dragon of Ra spread its wings, each feather shimmering with the Sun's light.
The scorching radiance even caused Zeus's thunder to dim.
"False god of Egypt!" Zeus roared, the Thunder Spear pressing down forcefully, golden lightning coiling around the Winged Dragon of Ra's body like a rampant dragon.
"Your flames are nothing before true divine retribution!"
The Winged Dragon of Ra let out an earth-shshattering roar.
Its eyes burned with the runes of the Eye of Horus, and from its mouth, a thousand-meter diameter Sun fireball condensed, its core temperature sufficient to vaporize steel.
"Divine Retribution—" Zeus raised his Thunder Spear high, and the thunderclouds in the sky instantly collapsed, condensing into a golden pillar of light that pierced through heaven and earth, colliding head-on with the Winged Dragon of Ra's Sun fireball.
"Boom—!!"
The Impact from the explosion swept across the entire city, completely leveling the remains of half of Washington District.
Zeus's thunder and the Winged Dragon of Ra's flames intertwined, forming a brilliant White sphere of light, which then suddenly collapsed, transforming into a black hole-like vortex, devouring everything.
When the light dissipated, the Winged Dragon of Ra's golden wings were tattered, its body pierced by thunder, and golden blood flowed like lava.
Zeus stood at the center of the storm, his Thunder Spear still shining, but his long beard was scorched, and his robes were damaged, clearly not unscathed.
"It's over." Zeus said coldly, raising his Thunder Spear again, its tip condensing an attack capable of destroying a god.
However, just as the thunder was about to fall, the Winged Dragon of Ra's body suddenly ignited with strange black flames.
Its golden shell peeled off inch by inch, revealing the crimson flesh within, and then—
"Screech—!!"
A mournful cry pierced the sky, and the Winged Dragon of Ra's broken body restructured in the flames, transforming into a giant bird engulfed in undying Fire.
Its wings were no longer golden, but scorching flames, each feather like flowing Sun lava.
"Phoenix?…" Zeus's pupils slightly contracted, and the Thunder Spear in his hand trembled slightly.
The Phoenix form of the Winged Dragon of Ra flapped its wings, and flames poured down like a waterfall.
Wherever it passed, ruins turned into a sea of lava.
Its body was like pure Sun Fire, immortal and indestructible, burning everything to ashes.
Zeus snorted coldly, and suddenly plunged his Thunder Spear into his own chest, golden lightning merging into his body like liquid.
His muscles swelled, thunder runes appeared on his skin, and his eyes completely transformed into eyes of a thunder-storm.
"Since you wish to witness true divine power…" Zeus's voice became deep and grand, as if the entire sky was resonating, "Then let me show you what it means to rule the sky and the earth!"
In his hand, starlight gathered, forming a brilliant scepter—the universal scepter, the ultimate weapon symbolizing Zeus's supreme divine authority.
At the tip of the scepter, a star-like core rotated, releasing energy fluctuations capable of distorting space-time.
"Divine Retribution · Thunder of the End!"
The universal scepter swung down, and a dimension-piercing lightning bolt struck the Phoenix.
The Phoenix shrieked, meeting the attack, and flames and thunder collided again, but this time—
"Boom—!!"
Space was torn apart, and the boundary between reality and void blurred for an instant.
The Phoenix's flames were pierced by the lightning, and its body disintegrated in the destructive energy, turning into countless burning fragments.
However, just as Zeus thought victory was assured, those fragments actually reassembled, and the Phoenix was reborn in the raging flames, its power even greater than before!
"Immortal and indestructible…" Zeus frowned deeply, "A troublesome thing."
The battle between Zeus and the Phoenix almost destroyed the entire Washington District.
The former political center of the United States was erupting with Fire and thunder everywhere, the ground collapsing, and molten steel lava constantly dripping.
However, neither could defeat the other.
The Phoenix could not defeat Zeus, and Zeus could not completely kill the Phoenix.
After defeating the Phoenix once again, Zeus's White beard was already scorched and curled, his divine robes tattered, but the fighting spirit in his eyes was even more intense than at the beginning.
And the defeated Phoenix Fire once again reassembled, flying over the sea of molten lava, each flap of its wings stirring up towering flames, the battlefield of the two had long turned into a boiling lake of magma.
"Your flames are indeed surprising." Zeus's voice boomed through the thunder, a new thunder-storm vortex condensing at the tip of his scepter, "But Olympus's thunder is endless!"
The Phoenix let out a clear, long cry, and its fiery wings suddenly retracted, transforming into a brilliant White Sun core.
The light was so intense that Zeus couldn't help but squint his eyes.
Just as the King of Gods prepared to face a new round of battle, the Phoenix made an unexpected move—
It didn't attack.
Golden flames rained down, and the Phoenix's body began to decompose into countless specks of light.
"Hmm? Disappeared?" Zeus didn't understand the Phoenix's action.
Judging by the trend of their battle, the two sides would fight until the small planet shattered, and still no victor would be decided.
And in the safe zone outside Washington District, Tony stared blankly at the Winged Dragon of Ra card that had reformed in his hand, muttering, "How… did it just turn back?"
He flipped the card over to check, and the three divine blood markers on the back had disappeared by one segment.
He immediately understood, had the energy run out?
Tony gripped the card again, intending to summon the Winged Dragon of Ra once more, when 2B's voice sounded in his communicator, "Mr. Stark, do not use the Winged Dragon of Ra anymore.
If you continue to use it, your body will collapse."
Tony frowned, looking at the card.
The card felt slightly hot in his palm, seemingly responding to his inner anxiety.
"No," he said through gritted teeth, his voice resolute, "Even if I collapse, I will summon it.
Zeus's power is something we cannot withstand, only the Winged Dragon of Ra can—"
"Mr. Stark." 2B's voice was no longer through the earpiece, but directly in front of Tony.
Tony looked up and saw 2B, carrying Banner in one hand and Thor in the other, slowly walking towards him.
"Master left a contingency."
Tony was stunned: "What contingency?"
2B didn't answer immediately, but turned her head to look at the distant battlefield shrouded in thunder and flames.
There, thunder and firelight illuminated the sky.
"A true Godslayer." 2B said softly.
Zeus hovered beneath the shattered sky, the universal scepter erupting with blinding golden light.
His White beard wildly swayed in the energy storm, and thunder surged in his eyes.
"Foolish, lowly humans." The King of Gods' voice boomed like thunder, "Do you think summoning the false gods of Egypt can stop my wrath? No!
Only by destroying you can I erase your sin of feeding hellish Beasts with Olympus's divine power!!"
A new thunder-storm vortex condensed at the tip of the scepter, and billions of golden lightning bolts intertwined in the clouds.
Just as Zeus was about to unleash divine retribution, his movements suddenly froze.
Zeus frowned deeply, looking into the depths of the ruins, where a burly figure was slowly approaching.
It was a gray-skinned man, covered in ancient battle scars.
Chains wrapped around his arms, and a hideous vertical scar ran through his right eye socket.
He held a blood-stained frost battle-axe in his left hand, Ares's divine blood still lingering on the axe-blade.
Zeus's divine pupils slightly constricted.
He didn't recognize this mortal, but the aura emanating from him instinctively made him feel… danger.
It was a pure, undisguised intent to slay gods, as if even the air trembled before it.
"Who are you?" Zeus asked in a deep voice, the thunder on his scepter flickering restlessly.
The man didn't answer.
He just continued walking forward, his chains clanking coldly with each step.
When he looked up, Zeus saw a pair of cold eyes—there was no fear, no reverence in them.
Zeus suddenly felt an inexplicable chill crawl up his spine.
This mortal seemed to carry a blood debt that even gods could hardly imagine.
Zeus waved his scepter, and golden lightning struck in front of the man.
The man stopped and looked at Zeus.
Zeus angrily rebuked: "You killed Ares?
State your name! Then kneel and die!"
The man slowly raised his head, the hideous scar on his right eye faintly visible in the blood-red flames.
He took a deep breath, and suddenly, a towering blood-red aura erupted from his body.
Countless wailing souls were faintly visible within the flames.
"Some call me the Ghost of Sparta…" Every word he uttered made the air tremble.
Within the blood-red flames, a phantom of Olympus collapsing appeared, with the corpses of gods falling like rain.
"Others call me the Godslayer…" He took a step forward, and the ground beneath his feet cracked into a spiderweb pattern.
The flame illusion shifted, revealing the Sun God's chariot plunging into an abyss, Apollo's head torn off by him, and the burning Sun extinguished in the darkness.
"The Fates call me the Curse…" With the second step, the chains wrapped around his arms vibrated, emitting a harsh metallic scraping sound.
In the illusion, Poseidon's eyes were pierced by his own trident, his head shattered by a heavy blow; Hades's soul was torn from his body by the Blades of Chaos.
The sea submerged the land, and the dead escaped the Underworld.
"The Gods of Olympus call me the Nightmare…" On the third step, he gripped his battle-axe tightly, cold air drifting from its blade.
Within the blood-red flames, the scene of Ares being impaled by a great sword and pinned to the Athenian temple flashed by.
With the final step, he stood before Zeus, looking up at Zeus in the sky.
Blood-red flames condensed behind him, and a figure strikingly similar to Zeus was repeatedly beaten by the flames of chaos, finally burning to ashes.
"My name is Kratos."
