Chapter 7 - The Judgment of Cyclops

The night was thick, moonlight filtered through the clouds and cast down upon the city. The neon lights of Rose Nightclub were particularly glaring in the darkness, as if proclaiming that this was a den of sin. Tonight, the air seemed to be filled with an imperceptible killing intent, a dangerous aura subtly flowing in the darkness, like a poisonous snake lurking in the shadows, waiting for the right moment to strike. The streets were still filled with noise, the lights of cars flashing across the road, accompanied by the low murmur of the wind. Tonight's moonlight was even more threatening than the noise, as if foreshadowing an unavoidable battle that was about to begin.

Dominic walked casually towards the nightclub, humming an indifferent tune. Bang! He suddenly kicked open the nightclub doors. The sound of the doors hitting the walls echoed like a death knell. The entire nightclub hall instantly fell into a brief silence. Everyone stopped what they were doing, and their eyes all fell on this uninvited guest.

Bella stood in the center of the hall, her thugs behind her like they were facing a formidable enemy. Her eyes burned with anger and killing intent, but her face still wore that professional sneer, a malicious glint in her eyes. She knew that the situation today was irreversible, and she had absolute confidence – tonight was Dominic's death day.

"Kingpin has issued your death day," Bella said coldly, her voice filled with undeniable ruthlessness. Her eyes were full of contempt and anger. Then she lightly waved her hand, as if summoning something that had been arranged long ago. The thugs immediately responded. Their firearms were simultaneously aimed at Dominic, the black muzzles like executioners pronouncing a death sentence, cold and merciless.

Dominic stood where he was, a slow smile spreading across his face, his expression beginning to twist and become bizarre. It was an unfathomable smile, the curve of his lips slightly wider than a normal person's, revealing a set of clean white teeth, but the smile was full of unease and danger. His eyes held a cold madness, slightly narrowed, with a hint of cunning at the corners, as if he knew the situation before him perfectly, and even enjoyed it.

He raised a finger, pointing at Bella, and said slowly, "You know, how does that saying go? 'Death is just a joke, what matters is how you play the game.'" He pretended to ponder for a moment, then let out a scoff. "Honestly, I've never cared about other people's 'death days,' because – I never die."

His eyebrows lifted slightly, his eyes devoid of any warmth, instead flickering with a playful and sarcastic light. His expression was both mocking his opponent's overestimation of themselves and also seemed to be enjoying the entire chaotic process. The smile on his lips grew wider and wider, twisting in a way that sent shivers down one's spine, like a hunter playing with a dying prey.

That smiling face was strange and unsettling, as if the next second, along with that smile, destructive disaster would descend.

Bella's face changed, and the anger in her eyes burned even more fiercely. She could no longer tolerate this man's arrogance. She suddenly waved her hand: "Shoot! Kill him!"

The thugs' firearms were raised almost at the same moment, their black muzzles all aimed at Dominic. Then, accompanied by the sound of "bang bang bang," bullets rained down on him like crazy. The entire nightclub hall instantly echoed with gunshots and the crisp sound of bullet casings falling on the floor. Fire flashed, the air was filled with the smell of gunpowder, and the entire scene was like a hellish storm.

However, Dominic's expression didn't change at all. He still stood there, that playful and contemptuous smile on his lips. Just as the bullets were about to hit him, his eyes suddenly erupted with two dazzling red beams – Cyclops! The beams were like a death judgment, instantly slicing through the air and shooting directly at the bullets. Only the sound of "hiss hiss hiss" was heard. All the bullets, upon contact with the red beams, seemed to have met iron in fire, instantly melting and turning into smoking metal slag, scattered on the ground. The entire room was illuminated crimson by the light of Cyclops.

Not only the bullets, but even the thugs holding the guns couldn't escape their fate. Cyclops was like the grim reaper's scythe, easily sweeping across their bodies. Instantly, a "sizzle" sound was heard. The thugs' bodies were instantly cut, and blood gushed out. The high temperature melted their flesh and skin, and the air was filled with a burnt smell. They didn't even have time to let out a painful groan, falling down like puppets, becoming charred corpses cut in half.

Dominic slowly retracted Cyclops, the smile on his face still present, but even more unrestrained. He lightly clapped his hands, as if he had just finished a simple "cleaning" job. Then he raised his head and said in a sarcastic tone, "You are truly pathetic. Did you really think a few bullets could finish me? Heh, it seems you are all too naive."

He put his hands in his pockets and slowly walked towards Bella, his tone becoming cold and filled with a sarcastic smile: "Do you think you're amazing, holding these 'scrap metal' and thinking you can kill a... god who shouldn't exist?" He paused, his gaze sweeping over the corpses on the ground, and continued, "Poor mortals, you have no idea what you are facing."

Bella's face had long lost its composure and calmness. Fear had completely taken over her heart. Her eyes were filled with terror and despair, and her body trembled uncontrollably, as if the man before her was not human at all, but some kind of incomprehensible monster.

She no longer bothered to maintain a calm demeanor, turning and running frantically towards the back door, as if one second later, her fate would be the same as the fallen thugs. Her steps were chaotic, her legs so weak they could barely support her body, and her escape was clumsy and awkward.

Dominic stood where he was, watching Bella's panicked retreating figure, his smile becoming even more twisted. He raised a hand, pointing at Bella, his voice full of playfulness and coldness: "Bella, Bella, where do you think you can run to? Tonight is your death day." His voice carried a certain irresistible power, as if announcing the end of fate.

He took a step, slowly following behind Bella, his pace light and leisurely, as if all of this was just a game. And he was the master of this game.

"You know, Bella, I always feel that some people don't die interestingly enough. Look, like those thugs, they were too stupid. They died before they even had time to understand what they were facing, and they didn't even taste enough fear." A slight smile played on his lips, his voice low and filled with a cold amusement, "But you are different. You are very smart, so you should understand that I never kill too quickly. I prefer... watching the prey slowly struggle, despair, until they understand that they cannot escape from me."

Bella's steps became faster and faster, her breathing more and more rapid. She could feel death approaching step by step, as if the terrifying man would end her life with his own hands the next second.

A hint of excitement flashed in Dominic's eyes. His voice was still full of cold amusement: "Bella, do you know what death is? It's not a bullet, not an exploding flame, it's a long game. And you, are honored to be the protagonist of this game."

After he finished speaking, he revealed that familiar evil smile, his eyes flickering with dangerous red light, as if the next second, destruction would descend.
