Just as Dominic was about to retort to Tony, a sudden, unique ringtone interrupted him. The ringtone was deep and exaggerated, like his own theme music, with a hint of rousing orchestral flair, ringing out abruptly and harshly through the room.
Dominic calmly took out his phone, answering with a displeased expression, "Hello?" There was a hint of impatience in his tone, as if whoever was calling had to have an earth-shattering reason to interrupt him.
From the other end of the call came Phil Coulson's slightly helpless voice: "Dominic, we found something interesting in New Mexico... Uh, to be precise, it's a hammer. It fell from the sky, and the entire area's magnetic field is in chaos. We were wondering... do you want to come take a look?"
Dominic raised an eyebrow, seemingly intrigued, but still maintained his arrogant attitude. He let out a soft scoff and slowly said, "Of course, but, Phil, I am the Homelander, not some random thug you can summon at will." He cleared his throat dramatically and said with a tone full of narcissism, "If you want me to go, my title cannot be omitted. Please show some respect—'The People's Guardian, the Embodiment of the Homelander, Supreme Power, the World's Only Savior'."
Phil on the other end of the phone rolled his eyes after hearing that, his face full of speechlessness. He couldn't help but rub his temples, replying helplessly, "Alright, 'The People's Guardian', the residents of New Mexico humbly request your presence to see what this hammer is all about... Are you satisfied?"
Dominic smiled smugly, his lips curling in satisfaction, and slowly said, "That's more like it. You know how to handle things, Phil." With that, he snapped the phone shut, adopting a look of 'I have important things to do', turned to Tony, a smirk on his lips, "How about that, Stark? Looks like this World still needs me to save it."
Tony spread his hands, his eyes full of sarcasm, and replied coolly, "Oh, yes, yes, 'Supreme Savior', go save those 'mysterious hammers', and don't forget to bring your narcissistic aura."
Dominic winked and nudged closer to Tony, smiling meaningfully, raising an eyebrow, and asked tentatively, "Hey, Tony, want to go check it out together? It's got to be more interesting than just zoning out here by yourself."
Tony's lips moved, words were on the tip of his tongue, but he swallowed them back. In fact, after getting some new 'revelations' from Fury, he was no longer worried about his life being in danger. However, somehow, the unpleasant 'private chat' he had with Pepper not long ago suddenly popped into his mind—
The scene in his imagination flashed by: Pepper stood before him, looking disappointed, arms crossed, brows furrowed, saying, "Tony, I really thought you'd rein it in a little this time. You always think you can handle everything, but your risky behavior is never just about you..."
Her expression was full of disappointment, her eyes holding a hint of pity and helplessness, as if she saw endless disappointment through him. Tony couldn't help but shiver, snapping back to reality, and confirmed with a slightly guilty tone, "Ah, no, I'm not going. The hammer in New Mexico is all yours, 'Homelander'."
Seeing this, Dominic smirked and threw Tony a teasing look, then lightly shook his head and slowly said, "Oh, Tony, looking at you, you really seem afraid of the 'boss' at home being unhappy! Being afraid of your wife is a 'heroic tradition', isn't it?" He deliberately drew out his words, his eyes full of playfulness, as if implying this was Tony's real 'heroic challenge'.
Seeing Dominic continue to tease with winks and nudges, Tony sighed helplessly and directly pushed him towards the door, saying as he pushed, "Alright, alright, go 'save the World' quickly. I'll stay here and guard the 'family business'." Dominic was half-pushed, half-pulled out of the room, a cynical smile on his face, and he dramatically waved goodbye to Tony before leaving stylishly.
As soon as Dominic left, Tony breathed a sigh of relief. Just as he was about to turn around, he saw Pepper standing at the door with a stack of documents, looking at him with a puzzled expression, "Dominic was here? I thought you'd go with him."
Tony quickly walked up to her, took the documents, and said with a serious expression, "Oh, Pepper, of course I wouldn't go – I'd rather stay by your side and help you 'share' these company matters." He quickly flipped through the documents and signed them, a confident smile on his lips, as if he were the perfect helper.
Pepper looked at his earnest display of loyalty and couldn't help but chuckle, a gentle smile in her eyes, "Alright, Tony, I hope this time you really don't need me to remind you."
Just then, the scene cut to Blonsky on the other side. He and Happy Hogan were swaggering into a luxurious party, surrounded by women dressed to the nines. Blonsky held a drink, smiling like a 'general returning from conquest', toasting the ladies one by one, occasionally whispering jokes to Happy, his face full of pride. Although Happy was a bit shy, he loosened up considerably with Blonsky's encouragement, even managing his 'rare' confident smile. The two raised their glasses in celebration, 'like fish in water' conquering 'new territory' at the party. Clearly, the party was more than just a simple social event for them.
Dominic landed on the deserted ground in New Mexico where Agents had already set up a cordon. Looking around, a desolate atmosphere hit him. Agents were scattered around on guard, and several black SUVs were parked nearby, clearly the entire area was sealed off. Dominic raised an eyebrow, his eyes lighting up, and he murmured, "Looks like there's some 'good stuff' here."
Just as he was about to get closer, he suddenly heard muffled thuds from ahead, followed by several Agents falling to the ground one after another, leaving a trail of messy footprints. Dominic looked in the direction of the sound and saw a blonde man fighting off several Agents with his bare hands. His movements were swift and precise. Although he had no weapon, his moves were vicious, and a flame of anger flickered in his eyes. He was muttering something about a 'hammer', looking relentless, as if everything in front of him had become a stumbling block on his way to his goal.
Dominic smiled slightly, a playful curve on his lips, and muttered, "Tsk tsk, this hammer is like his long-lost wife. Is he looking for it so urgently? He's really persistent." He stood aside, arms crossed, leisurely enjoying the 'Agent vs. Man' match.
