Quill was immediately annoyed when he saw the collectors' attention shift from them to Dominic. He frowned, suddenly pulled the Orb of Destiny from behind his back, held it high, and struck an exaggerated pose: "Hey, old man! Don't get me wrong, I'm the star of the show today, Star-Lord, and I've brought you what you've been wanting most! Is this thing enough to catch your eye?"
The collector turned his head, his gaze falling on the orb in Quill's hand, a complex emotion flickering in his eyes. A sarcastic smile played on his lips as he slowly spoke: "Star-Lord... well, that name sounds like a lousy nightclub performer. As for that orb—it's certainly interesting, but its value is probably beyond your imagination."
Quill raised an eyebrow, his face full of disdain: "Beyond my imagination? Please, I'm the most imaginative person in the galaxy! This orb is definitely my cash cow, a treasure that can make me rich overnight."
Gamora couldn't help but roll her eyes, and said coldly, "Do you even know what it is, Quill? It's not an ordinary trade item, it's—"
Quill raised his hand to interrupt her: "Wait a minute, Gamora, don't ruin the mood. I know it's important, important enough to make me rich, right? That's the point!"
Rocket Raccoon grinned, clutching his custom-made weapon: "Hey, Quill's right. As long as it fetches a good price, who cares what it is? After all, money is the most reliable partner in the universe."
"I am Groot." Groot nodded slowly, seemingly completely agreeing with Rocket's point of view.
Drax, gripping his twin swords, looked somewhat perplexed. He turned to Gamora and asked in a low voice, "Why are you all arguing about the value of this ball? Can it kill Ronan? If not, then it's just a worthless piece of junk."
Gamora sighed, trying to suppress her patience, and turned to Drax to explain, "It can not only kill Ronan, but it can even destroy an entire planet. If it falls into the hands of Ronan or Thanos, the consequences will be unimaginable."
Quill waved his hand impatiently upon hearing this: "Alright, stop telling those childish stories. Collector, are you going to buy it or not? If not, I'm going to find the next buyer who offers a higher price."
The collector walked slowly toward Quill, his gaze fixed on the orb, a hint of coldness in his voice: "The value of this item far exceeds any wealth you can imagine. The power it contains cannot be measured in any currency."
Dominic leaned against the glass cabinet, silently observing everything, his gaze fixed on the orb in Quill's hand. His eyes were as deep as night, and he suddenly spoke: "That's the Power Stone, isn't it?"
The room fell silent instantly. Gamora whirled around, her eyes filled with suspicion: "How did you know?"
"Power Gem?" Quill looked at the orb in his hand with a blank expression. "It sounds like a powerful name... but what does it mean for my wallet?"
"That means you're holding a nuclear bomb that can blow you and your wallet up." Dominic straightened up and walked towards Quill, his tone laced with mockery. "If you know nothing about its true power, don't flaunt it. Otherwise, you'll either be skinned alive by the collector or sent to meet the King of Hell by Thanos."
Quill paused, then adopted a nonchalant air: "Hey, buddy, that sounds scary. But don't forget, I'm Star-Lord, I never—"
Dominic suddenly reached out and gently touched the orb. A subtle ripple of energy spread out along the orb, plunging the entire room into a deathly silence. Quill froze, staring at the light emanating from the orb, his expression becoming complex: "Uh... what is this?"
"That's just the surface," Dominic said in a low voice, his tone carrying an undeniable authority. "Do you want to continue joking?"
Rocket blinked and raised his weapon: "So, this gem can really blow us all up?"
"I am Groot." Groot nodded, seemingly prepared for the worst.
Drax gripped his twin swords, a glint of fighting spirit flashing in his eyes: "In that case, why don't we just use them against Ronan? Let's use their power to destroy him."
Gamora's expression grew increasingly serious: "This is no ordinary weapon, it is—"
Dominic waved his hand, interrupting her: "No need to explain. They won't understand. Just decide quickly, this gem will only cause endless trouble if it stays in your hands."
Quill hesitated for a moment, then suddenly raised the spirit orb and looked at the collector with a big smile: "Hey, old man, I think we can renegotiate the price. After all, this isn't just an ordinary spirit orb."
The collector raised his eyes and gave a cold smile: "Indeed, this is no ordinary spirit orb. But you haven't realized that trouble has already come knocking on your door."
"Trouble?" Quill raised an eyebrow, a confident smile playing on his lips. "Old man, with me, Star-Lord, around here, trouble usually just turns into a joke."
The collector narrowed his eyes slightly, clasped his hands in front of him, and swept his cold gaze over the crowd: "A joke? You'll soon find out that the trouble here can't be solved with 'jokes'."
Dominic leaned against the glass display case, arms crossed, and casually remarked, "I bet one of your business partners has decided to collect a 'debt,' right? Or maybe one of Thanos's minions just tracked you down here?"
Gamora's expression turned cold upon hearing the word "Thanos," and she gripped her weapon tightly: "If Thanos sent someone, we must leave immediately."
Quill, however, seemed not to hear, still engrossed in his performance: "Thanos? Who's afraid of who! Even if it's trouble, I, Star-Lord, have always been a hero who faces challenges head-on. Rocket, prepare for battle!"
Rocket Raccoon glared at Quill, then leaped onto the counter with his weapon in hand: "Prepare for battle? Wait a minute, I'm not sure if we should get involved in this kind of 'heroic act.' Who knows if we're facing a bunch of guys who could blow me to bits?"
"I am Groot." Groot nodded, clearly agreeing with Rocket's opinion.
Drax drew his twin swords and said without hesitation, "If enemies attack, it's a golden opportunity. I can't wait to tear them to shreds with these blades!"
The collector gave them a cold look, his tone tinged with disdain: "Ignorant adventurers... do you really think you can withstand any real power?"
"Old man, don't look down on us." Quill scoffed. "We're not ordinary people you've seen. We are—"
Dominic interrupted Quill: "—A bunch of small fry who think too highly of themselves." He snatched the orb from Quill's hand, his fingers twirling it gently as it rolled between his fingers, emitting a faint glow. "The problem is, the enemies this thing attracts are no ordinary people."
Just then, the collector's communicator suddenly flashed. He glanced at the screen, his sneer deepening: "See, they're here."
Heavy footsteps echoed outside the room, followed by the screeching sound of metal scraping against the floor. Quill quickly pulled down his mask, Rocket adjusted his weapon's aim, and Gamora stood at the front of the group, her eyes fixed on the door.
"Who's here?" Quill asked in a low voice.
"They must be old friends of yours," the collector said unhurriedly, as if watching a playful drama unfold. "Ronan's men."
"Ronan?" Gamora's face darkened further. "He knows we've brought the Orb?"
"Perhaps." The collector turned and walked to a sofa, elegantly picking up a glass of red wine. "In any case, this battle is directly related to your stupidity. Please leave; I won't get involved."
The door was flung open with a loud bang, and several Kree soldiers in heavy armor burst in, their energy weapons flashing with blinding light, and the atmosphere in the room instantly froze.
"Hand over the Spirit Orb!" the leading soldier growled in a low voice, his gaze sweeping fiercely over everyone.
Quill, feigning composure, raised his hands: "Alright, everyone, we can discuss this—"
Dominic kicked over the glass cabinet in front of him, shards flying everywhere. He walked toward the soldiers with a sneer: "Negotiation? I'd like to see if they can negotiate to survive."
Upon seeing this, the Kree soldiers quickly raised their weapons and aimed at Dominic. They clearly hadn't expected this ordinary-looking human to have such audacity.
"Final warning—"
Before he could finish speaking, a dazzling light suddenly erupted from Dominic's hand—energy emanating from the Spirit Orb. He held the Spirit Orb high, his tone cold: "Want this? Come and take it yourself."
Just as the Kree soldiers were about to charge forward, a crimson energy wave erupted from the sphere, blasting the first few soldiers away. Quill, watching this, couldn't help but mutter, "Hey, buddy, aren't you going a little overboard?"
Dominic turned to look at Quill, a slight smile playing on his lips: "Didn't you say you wanted to get a good price? Now you know why it's valuable, right?"
