Chapter 20 - Tang San's Surprise and the Douluo Continent Plane Consciousness

"I recall that Yaohang seemed to have a bit of interest in this Xu Jiujiu. It just so happens their ages are similar, so Ruiying's idea seems feasible." Dai Dianchen's thoughts raced, feeling that it might actually work.

As soon as Dai Dianchen said this, it immediately touched a few of the Dai Clan elders.

In contrast, the faces of the Zhu Clan members, especially Zhu Changming, subtly changed. However, his expression was concealed by the dim lighting, so no one else noticed.

The Duchess gave Zhu Changming a look, a faint smile on her face. She then slowly said, "I'll ask Yaohang about this first. If he's not happy, we can't force the issue, can we?"

"That's true." Dai Dianchen and several of the elders nodded in agreement.

Zhu Changming and the Zhu Clan breathed a collective sigh of relief.

If the White Tiger Clan really formed an alliance with the royal family through marriage, their situation would become even worse.

"Tonight, Third Brother and Fourth Brother, you will rest at the Duke's mansion. I've already instructed people to prepare the guest rooms for you. You can return tomorrow," the Duchess said, standing up. "We'll continue discussing today's matters later, let's first observe the royal family's actions."

Zhu Changming smiled and nodded, but his expression was still a little anxious.

"Old Chen, Yuhao, I'll head back first."

At the entrance of Maplefall Courtyard, Dai Luoli greeted Old Chen and Huo Yuhao with a smile.

The Duchess glanced at Dai Luoli with fondness, then quickly turned her gaze to Huo Yuhao. However, she didn't ask anything. After a brief chat with Old Chen to find out if Dai Luoli had worked hard in his training today, she left with Dai Luoli.

Watching the two of them leave, Huo Yuhao felt a touch of envy. He was really unlucky; in both his previous life and this one, he was alone.

"Alright, Luoli's training is over, but yours isn't. I'll test your knowledge of soul beasts later. If you can't answer, don't blame me if I make you eat bamboo shoots with meat," Old Chen closed the gate and teased Huo Yuhao.

"I definitely won't eat bamboo shoots with meat, but Luoli is different." Huo Yuhao was very confident.

In the living room.

"What are the attributes, habits, weaknesses, and age identification methods of Red Bulls?"

"Red Bulls are a relatively strong type of soul beast among the bovine species. They are earth-attribute, with the characteristic of being fearless. They enjoy fighting their opponents to the death. They prefer to live in relatively flat terrains. Their food requirements are not high, but they usually live alone, except during mating and breeding periods."

"Their weaknesses lie in..."

"What are the attributes of the Iron-Eating Beasts..."

"What are the attributes of the Eastern Peng..."

For almost forty minutes, Old Chen asked Huo Yuhao questions about nearly seventeen different soul beasts.

Huo Yuhao didn't disappoint Old Chen; he had truly memorized them all.

"Bang." Old Chen closed the book and nodded in satisfaction, "Not bad, it seems you haven't been slacking off."

Huo Yuhao had a smile on his lips, but he didn't say anything.

Old Chen said, "Over the next few days, you should memorize the classification of various metals. It will be very useful when you go to Shrek City to apprentice in a Soul Tool workshop."

Huo Yuhao nodded, "Okay."

"Go and rest," Old Chen waved his hand.

Seeing this, Huo Yuhao respectfully stood up and went to his bedroom.

The bedroom was quite dark, but Huo Yuhao didn't turn on the light. He went straight to the window.

Looking up at the sky, he saw a scene of a bright moon and sparse stars. The bright moonlight was exceptionally gentle. Looking out, everything within the Maplefall Courtyard seemed to be covered in a layer of silvery-white, soft light.

The gentle, cool evening breeze, seemingly from nowhere, ruffled his hair.

Huo Yuhao lowered his head, calculating when he should go to the Star Dou Great Forest. In this life, he had replaced the original Huo Yuhao, making the encounter with the Big Bug and Electrolux in the Star Dou Great Forest uncertain.

If there was a deviation, it would be a big problem.

It wasn't an exaggeration to say that the Big Bug was the single most important person in changing Huo Yuhao's life.

Without the Big Bug, he wouldn't have met Electrolux. Without the Big Bug, he wouldn't have had a second martial soul. Without the Big Bug… well, there were too many things.

Although he had read the original novel, he wasn't entirely sure about the exact timeline. He knew that the Big Bug usually met Huo Yuhao about five days before the new semester started at Shrek Academy.

Of course, there was still about a year before the main plot of the original story began, so he had plenty of time.

"Time to cultivate."

He glanced at the moon one last time. Huo Yuhao quickly washed up and then sat cross-legged on the bed.

Almost instantly, Huo Yuhao entered a slow yet peaceful meditation. Fine strands of light swirled around him, dancing as if caught in the breeze.

A large amount of soul power permeated the air and was absorbed into his body. It circulated from his dantian in his abdomen, then flowed through the meridians of his limbs and bones.

Before long, a sharp stinging sensation surged into his heart. Huo Yuhao's eyelids fluttered, but he persevered. Perhaps due to the passage of time, he gradually became accustomed to the needle-like pain within his body.

Yet, beneath this scene of utter tranquility, a sudden change occurred within the bedroom.

The world around Huo Yuhao seemed like a calm water surface disturbed by ripples, constantly swaying. This caused his figure to appear somewhat blurry amidst the changes.

Huo Yuhao, who was in the midst of his meditation, seemed to react. He tried to open his eyes, but was surprised to find himself unable to do so, as if trapped by some strange force.

"What's going on? Has 'the path to death' come early?" Huo Yuhao was startled, but there was no one to answer his doubts.

A faint, invisible light surged from the void, gathering at Huo Yuhao's brow, as if embedding a gem. After a few seconds, everything gradually returned to calm.

The changes in the bedroom instantly vanished, and everything returned to normal.

"Whoosh."

At that very moment, Huo Yuhao suddenly opened his eyes, his gaze becoming incredibly sharp. He continuously scanned his surroundings, but he didn't find anything unusual.

Immediately, Huo Yuhao hurriedly checked himself, but he also found no problems. Everything that had just happened felt like an illusion.

What exactly was that feeling just now? It didn't seem to have any malicious intent towards me, which means it definitely wasn't Tang San.

Huo Yuhao murmured to himself, his expression grim.

"The Plane Consciousness of Douluo Continent has moved. It's interfering with my perception of New Star."

In the vast cosmos, within a special space, lay a world of breathtaking beauty, where the clouds swirled, imbued with a rainbow of colors.

A colossal palace stood amidst the clouds, its grandeur resembling a divine miracle. On a flat viewing platform within,

a young man, holding a trident, gazed intently at the void before him, his expression a mixture of seriousness and surprise. His body was enveloped in a sea-blue light.

"Damn it, daring to disrupt my plans. I'll obliterate you eventually," the young man muttered inwardly, his eyes filled with depth. "Everything was progressing according to my perception, without a single deviation. The New Star would inevitably come into contact with my Tang Sect, and I would seize control of it in the future. But now, the New Star's development has been interfered with, and I fear significant changes will arise."

"What exactly happened? How could the Plane Consciousness take the initiative to assist?" After a moment of silence, the young man still couldn't fathom it.

The Plane Consciousness of the Douluo Continent was extremely weak, having only existed for a mere ten thousand years. Logically, it shouldn't possess any self-acting capabilities.

"Third brother."

Suddenly, a gentle female voice echoed.

The young man's furrowed brow immediately relaxed, and a gentle smile reappeared on his face, a complete contrast to his previous gloomy expression.

A woman with an extremely beautiful face slowly walked over. She wore a light pink long dress, and her long hair was braided into a scorpion braid. Her small hands, like smooth jade, gently brushed across the hair on her forehead before she came to the young man's side.

Smelling the faint and elegant fragrance that wafted over, the young man subconsciously embraced the woman, "Xiao Wu is asleep?"

"Yes." The woman leaned against the young man's embrace, a smile in her beautiful eyes.

The young man and the woman were none other than Tang San and Xiao Wu.
