"That's right," Matt said. He leaned forward, his expression intense. "Your father Corvin was working with someone named Jensen. And I'm sure that Marcus's father, Owen Jensen, was somehow connected to your parents' death."
It was as if the words had punched straight through him, he felt his whole body go cold, his mind suddenly racing to catch up with what Matt was saying. "What?" he managed to get out, his voice sounding strange even to his own ears.
Matt started explaining, he told Ryan about the argument he'd overheard twenty years ago between Corvin and Jasper, about how Corvin had been furious that Jasper was still working with Jensen after Corvin had decided to cut ties.
He told Ryan about how the massacre had happened the very next day, how Jasper had betrayed them and killed Corvin just hours after that argument.
