Kane drove Ryan to the new apartment, Ryan sat in the passenger seat, watching the city pass by outside the window, his mind still turning over everything that had happened in the past twenty-four hours.
When they got to the building, they took the elevator up to the third floor, Kane carrying most of the boxes while Ryan held the lighter bags. When Kane unlocked the door and pushed it open, Ryan stepped inside and took his first real look at the space that was supposed to be his new home.
It was nice. Actually, it was more than nice. Ryan found himself genuinely liking it.
The apartment was small compared to what he was used to, but it was cozy in a way the mansion had never been.
