"What are you planning to do to me?" Anna asked, her voice small and trembling. She looked up at him like a cornered kitten, blinking in innocent confusion.
Daniel's slow, dangerous smirk made her stomach twist.
"Lie down," he ordered, his tone low and commanding. "Arms above your head."
He shifted back, giving her room—giving her a choice.
Anna swallowed, heat pooling in her chest. Despite her nerves, she obeyed. She eased herself onto the bed, raising her arms above her head just as he told her.
Her robe fell open again, parting down the center—revealing the soft valley of her chest, the line of her stomach, the feminine vulnerability she tried to hide by pressing her legs tightly together.
Daniel's eyes darkened.
