"So you want to play along?" Daniel asked, one brow lifting when Anna explained her intention—letting Fiona continue believing the ridiculous 'two-timing' narrative.
Someone like Fiona—so self-absorbed, so desperate for his attention—would go to any extent to degrade Anna publicly, especially now that her attempt to get Anna kicked out of the film had failed so spectacularly.
But that didn't mean she would stop.
"If that's what you want," Daniel said, his seriousness melting into a teasing smirk, "then I won't say anything."
He trusted Anna. She was sharp enough to handle Fiona on her own. But still—he intended to be her shield whenever she needed him. No one would lay a finger on his wife again. Not like today.
Anna blinked, surprised at how calmly he accepted her plan. She expected resistance, a lecture—something. But the shift in his mood came too quickly.
And then he moved.
"Now… let's get back to what we left in the morning," Daniel announced.
