"Since his magic answer sheet could be questioned and might broaden the perspectives of aspiring mages, it will be displayed on the academy board."
Professor Joseph's words left the prospective students of the Magic Department speechless.
It was already insulting that a student from the Knight Department, who had mistakenly taken the magic exam, scored higher than the actual magic students. Yet, the academy decided to display his answer sheet on the academy board so others could gain wisdom from it.
How revolting.
The prospective students of the Magic Department openly showed their indignation.
However, since the top scorer of their department remained silent, they didn't push further. They just glared at Gray with hostility.
On the other hand, the prospective students of the Knight Department weren't doubtful of Gray's results, rather, they were in awe.
As Gray had displayed overwhelming techniques that far surpassed those of the usual applicants, it was plausible that, if the professors were saying so, he might really have scored full marks.
Yet, it was still hard to believe.
They looked at Gray with confusion, unable to comprehend how he could excel in two completely different fields.
The professors also showed a variety of emotions. Some were proud, some happy, some eager to teach such a talent, while others were hostile.
Normally, Gray's magic answer sheet would have been dismantled, since he was a Knight Department prospective student and had mistakenly taken the magic exam.
However, since Professor Eva showed interest and examined it, she proposed displaying the answer sheet to the academy, and the dean supported her proposal. Though Gray would still be put on trial to verify the authenticity of his exam.
Meanwhile, Gray was frozen in his seat. He had expected a decent score, but full marks were a bit too much—on not just the Knight exam, but the Magic exam as well.
"...."
He then looked at a system window in front of him.
[Heavenly Authority: "God's Gaze"]
[Description: The Gaze of the Primordial Being… (Restricted)]
Gray's eyes glimmered with intrigue. The reason he had received full marks on both written exams was because of this Authority.
God's Gaze.
This skill had visually explained the answers in such detail that it would have taken many days just to write them. So, Gray wrote only a summary of the answers, yet he still got full marks, and the answer sheet would be showcased to the academy.
Gray felt awkward.
Then he looked at Soren Valerian, who was sitting next to him, praising him and saying this and that.
It seemed he was clearly happy for Gray.
Gray smiled at him and was about to say something, but…
Rumble! Crash! Plash... Drash...
With the loud thunder, a downpour began.
Right then, some prospective students sitting close to the windows started shouting in horror.
"Aaaaaaaa!"
"Aakkkkkkk! Blooooooood!"
Their screams felt as if they had seen a monster. Right then, another group of students, seated on the opposite side of the auditorium, began shouting.
Confused, the professors rushed toward them; however, as soon as they reached them, they froze in terror.
Gray stood up, feeling something ominous. As the auditorium was massive and he was sitting in the middle, he couldn't see outside the window. Thus, he was about to infuse mana into his eyes.
Right then,
Creak! Creak! Crash!
The auditorium's massive roof was ripped apart, spiraling upward as if a tornado were sucking it.
Dust and debris swirled in the air, and with the roof gone, the downpour poured inside, revealing the sky above.
!?
However, as soon as everyone present saw the sky above, their expressions hardened.
The sky had turned crimson, and cracks had formed, as if the sky were breaking like a mirror.
Crack! Crack!
Moreover, the rain that everyone had assumed was normal turned out to be blood.
Blood was pouring from the sky, resembling rain.
A science professor hurriedly bent down and checked the blood that had fallen on the floor.
"This is human blood!" the professor said, horrified.
Everyone was shocked to hear his words, but before they could react, the cracks in the sky began emitting a loud noise.
Kkkkkkkkkkkkkk
Everyone looked up and saw that the cracks had grown wider, and a portal was forming within them.
Right then, many grotesque tentacles emerged from the portal, covering the sky in darkness.
Tremble… Tremble…
The prospective students were so scared of this monstrous being that they fell to their knees.
Their tears and snot mixed together, making their expressions hard to look at.
Gray, on the other hand, didn't show much expression. He stood still, looking at the monstrous being with intrigued.
Similar to him, some students showed interest in the creature, including Soren Valerian, Kalsa Bakiraga.
Just then,
A voice rang in everyone's head:
- What a disgusting sight.
'Hexagram voice transmission.' Gray recognized the technique. It was the technique that the Dean of the academy had used earlier.
Ding
[Activating Heavenly Authority "God's Gaze"]
Shiiii
Gray activated his authority and traced the voice. The source was coming from the top of the tentacle creature.
A man was standing on the creature, wearing a black hood that hid his face.
With him were several masked men, similar to the masked man Gray had fought on his way here in the capital.
Then, the hooded man who had sent the hexagram voice transmission slowly descended from the tentacle creature and floated to a level where people could see him.
He scorned, looking down on everyone as if they were trash and then opened his mouth
"Where is your…"
Before the hooded man could complete his words, someone appeared before him in an instant, as if he had teleported.
"Dean!" The prospective students shouted.
The man who appeared before the hooded man was the dean of this academy, William Ivan Goodfella.
"How are you alive?" the dean asked the hooded man with perplexed eyes.
"Ah… I'm sad. Is that what you should ask your fellow disciple?" the masked man said.
"How dare you say that after killing Master?" The dean burst into anger and unleashed deadly killing intent.
Shooosh
The killing intent was so strong that it created wind pressure, blowing the hooded man's hood away, revealing his face covered in bandages.
"You!!" The dean's eyes shook violently. "That eye!"
The hooded man's whole face was covered in bandages that had weird markings, and only his eyes were visible. However, instead of having two eyes, he had three—two ordinary human eyes and one monstrous eye on his forehead.
"You have abandoned your humanity!!"
