'What tower is she talking about?' Victor was completely bewildered as he looked at Miss Amanda for an explanation, but all he received was a neutral stare as she began rummaging through her space ring.
"Here, catch," Amanda said as she tossed something toward Victor, which he instinctively caught.
He looked down at the object in his hand—a thin rectangular wooden block with the words "Tower Trial" written on it in glowing red ink.
"What's this, Miss Amanda?" Victor asked in a baffled tone, pointing at the wooden block while staring at her in confusion.
"Hmm. That is your pass to attempt the Tower Trial, which you missed because of your disappearance," Amanda said, ignoring the bewildered look on his face. "The next one will take place in three months."
"Wait, wait, Miss Amanda—what tower? What trial? Could you please explain before saying anything else?" Victor asked quickly.
"Don't tell me you've never heard of the Tower?" Amanda's eyes narrowed as she looked at him again.
"Eh… never?" Victor said, running a hand through his hair before looking back at her with a bitter expression. "Miss Amanda, did you forget I lost my memories?"
'That's true… but even if he lost his memories, it was only recently. How could he have forgotten about the Tower, something everyone learns about from birth?' Amanda looked at him with a pondering look.
"If you hadn't been playing dead for months, you'd already know. If you want to learn about the Tower, go to a public or academy library later. I won't waste my time or energy explaining it to you," Amanda said with a sneer.
'Half-dead? As if I chose to lie half-dead in some unknown, dangerous place…' Victor complained inwardly.
"Also, since you missed your chance, also your entire batch except few that did not qualify has already been promoted to Inner Ring students. You, however, will remain an Outer Ring student. That said, you're exempt from classes if you don't wish to attend," Amanda explained, as Victor blinked at her blankly.
"Outer Ring? Inner Ring? What nonsense is this?" Victor muttered, rubbing his temples.
'This sounds way too much like the Inner Court and Outer Court from cultivation novels. When did the academy even start dividing students like this?' Victor thought. If he had any doubts before, this confirms it—this really is a parallel world. Before his regression, the academy didn't have Outer Ring and Inner Ring students. Everyone was categorized together, and only the top students were ranked. Hearing his complaints, Miss Amanda simply rolled her eyes and didn't bother replying.
"Oh, another thing," Amanda added neutrally. "Since you were presumed dead, all of your belongings were thrown out, and anything valuable was auctioned off."
"Wait—sold off?! All my stuff?!" Victor's eyes widened in disbelief.
"Yes. The academy doesn't waste resources on corpses. What did you expect? That we'd keep your belongings in storage for years out of sentimentality?" Amanda's cold tone carried a sharp edge.
"Wait—SOLD? My stuff?! Don't tell me they even tossed my clothes!" Victor asked, stunned.
"No. Your clothes were actually auctioned off," Amanda said, her tone turning oddly amused. Victor was dumbfounded.
"What?! Who would even buy someone else's clothes? Who would buy my clothes?!" Victor's eyebrow twitched violently.
'Even my clothes… those heartless bastards…' Victor cried inwardly.
"You'd be surprised," Amanda replied in an amused voice. "You were popular for defeating mages despite being a knight. You had plenty of admirers—most of them women. Though… I believe even a man bought some of your clothes."
'What the… how popular am I?!' Victor was dumbfounded by her words. At first, he felt a pang of jealousy toward his own life in this world, then a chill ran down his spine when he realized a man had actually bought his clothes.
"Oh, and your girlfriend—no, let me rephrase that—your ex-girlfriend also became an Inner Ring student along with many of your batchmates after passing the tutorial," Amanda added almost casually.
"Wait… what?" Victor froze. His ears twitched.
'Since when the hell did I have a girlfriend?! When?! Where was I?! What parallel universe romance arc did I miss out on?! And what the hell—before I could even enjoy it, I already broke up?!What the actual hell?!' Victor screamed inwardly.
"Miss Amanda… who was my girlfriend?" Victor asked, swallowing nervously. He secretly hoped she wasn't ugly—even if he no longer had any connection to her.
"It's Olivia," Amanda said casually.
Victor, upon hearing those words, felt his jaw nearly hit the ground.
"O-Olivia… you mean that Olivia?! The goddess of the academy, the dream girl of all the students, the one every guy in class fantasized about?!" Victor's brain completely short-circuited. His mouth opened and closed like a fish.
"I don't know about all this, but yes, that Olivia," Amanda replied coldly.
'In my past life, I couldn't even speak to any girl not mention her! I was a loner, a nobody! And here, not only did I date her, I lost her while in a coma?! What cosmic bastard wrote this script?!' Victor's lips twitched at the absurdity. After the wave of shock passed, he forced himself to calm down and collect his thoughts.
'Even if I dated her, what does it matter now? Sure, it's a little regretful, but I have far more important matters—like figuring out why and how I regressed' Victor shook his head. 'Besides, judging from Amanda's tone, Olivia probably already found someone else. My main focus has to be becoming strong enough to protect myself when my secret as a Primogenitor is exposed'
"Hmm, looks like you don't care much about this," Amanda remarked with a raised eyebrow.
"I lost my memories. I don't care much about this matter," Victor replied with a shrug.
"Good. If you were sulking over a breakup, I would've pummeled you out of your depression," Amanda said with a smile.
Seeing her smile, Victor felt a chill run down his spine.
A few minutes later, Miss Amanda left for some work, and a nurse came to discharge him. Victor's lips twitched as the nurse kept glancing at him like he was some kind of strange creature, amazed by how quickly he had healed. After she left, he got dressed and walked out of the room.
