Amanda rolled her eyes at the nervous look on Victor's face and continued,
"Yes, other than the Knight, Mage, and Dual Bloodlines, there is a fourth kind—the Primogenitor Bloodline," she said, causing Victor to frown.
"Then why is there no mention of this in the book?" Victor asked, pointing at the one in his hand.
"Heh, do you think information this unique would be written in such an ordinary book? Not even the rarest books contain details about this bloodline. Only a few ancient families and powerful people with strong backgrounds know about it," Amanda explained, making Victor swallow hard before asking nervously,
"Miss Amanda, is it really okay for you to tell me something this sensitive?"
"Hmm, of course not. If people learned that someone weak and without any background like you had come across this taboo information—or worse, that you possessed this bloodline—you'd be hunted down like a dog before you had the chance to grow. For your own sake, I hope you keep your mouth shut," Miss Amanda said with a cold smile, sending a shiver down Victor's spine.
'Fuck…' Victor cursed inwardly, wiping the sweat from his forehead. He wanted to cry, but no tears would come.
"Miss Amanda, what if someone finds out that I have this Primogenitor Bloodline? What should I do?" Victor asked nervously, hoping she would have a solution. After all, even though she was cold most of the time, she had helped him countless times in his past life. Amanda raised an eyebrow at his question, her eyes studying him carefully.
"Well, according to history, those who possessed the Primogenitor Bloodline were always mistaken for Dual Bloodline users, since the two are very similar. As long as you don't reveal the unique powers of your bloodline, no one will know. Moreover, most orbs cannot even detect the Primogenitor Bloodline. The one I used is a rare treasure that can only be found in extremely dangerous dungeons," Miss Amanda explained, easing Victor's worries slightly.
"But what if I get exposed?" Victor asked cautiously, causing Amanda to look at him indifferently.
"Well, if that happens, you can only do what your predecessors did—run away from your home, hide your identity, and travel the world until you're strong enough that your pursuers think twice before coming after you. And besides, isn't it better that you know in advance, since you also carry a similar bloodline?" Amanda said neutrally, making Victor's eyebrow twitch.
'Hah… looks like I'll have to hide my bloodline for as long as I can,' Victor thought inwardly.
"Now, let me tell you why Primogenitors are feared—and what exactly they are," Miss Amanda said, causing Victor to look at her intently.
"First of all, Primogenitors are beings of immense power, and perhaps only one or two are born after thousands—or even millions—of years. They possess unique abilities exclusive to them, abilities that can easily crush groups of mages or even Dual Bloodline users with just a flick of their hand. For example, there was once a Primogenitor whose unique bloodline allowed him to create special ores. He forged powerful weapons from them and used his creations to dominate his era. Even now, his weapons are still sought after and could spark wars between powerful factions," Amanda explained before asking.
"I don't think such an extreme situation—being hunted just for dominating an era—is reasonable," Victor said with a frown. Before his regression, there had been no history of such events in his world. Hearing this made him feel the people of this world were far too unreasonable. He had been bullied and had seen commoners abused by nobles, but this… this was on another level.
"Reasonable?" Amanda sneered. "If I didn't know you personally, I too would want to kill you for having this bloodline."
Gulp.
Victor swallowed nervously at her words. Seeing his expression, Amanda sighed and continued in a neutral tone.
"Mainly, the reason lies in people's inherent jealousy and hostility toward Primogenitors, or in families who fear their power and influence being threatened. But the deepest root of such hostility comes from an event that took place millions of years ago," Amanda said.
"An event?" Victor asked with a frown. He had already accepted her reasoning, and now he was thinking that if someone with a Primogenitor Bloodline had existed in his last world, they likely would have been hunted down as well.
"Yes. Long ago, a dangerous Primogenitor awakened a bloodline power tied to darkness. Every time he killed someone, he could absorb their soul to grow stronger. This ability led him to cause countless massacres. Many knights and mages joined forces to kill him, but they all perished. In the end, it was the other Primogenitors—who were normally indifferent to the suffering of others—who killed him, because his wanton killing spree had harmed their people as well. After that, the reputation of Primogenitors was ruined. Since then, a few Primogenitors who were exposed before they could grow were hunted down and killed," Miss Amanda explained.
"I see…" Victor muttered, finally understanding why Primogenitors were hunted so relentlessly.
"You don't need to worry. It's true that after that event, many Primogenitors were killed by those who held grudges, but many survived and grew powerful. One of them who grew strong by surviving the relentless assaults even managed to ease the hostility, since the new Primogenitors who were hunted down and gained strength chose not to retaliate. Because of that, people might target you discreetly, but not openly," Amanda added before continuing.
"Honestly, you are the first Primogenitor in eons. I didn't expect the your reawakening to birth a Primogenitor type bloodline. Thanks to the long passage of time since the last Primogenitor, the hostility has lessened greatly. If someone were to find out, they might even try to recruit you. Still, you should wait until you're much stronger before revealing yourself, if that's what you want," Miss Amanda advised.
'She knows so much… I wonder what her background really is,' Victor thought inwardly. Even before his regression, he had never been able to uncover her mysterious origins.
"By the way, Miss Amanda, are there any living Primogenitors still around?" Victor asked.
"There are a few, but you won't meet them on the lower floors. You'll need to climb the Tower. Along the way, you might also encounter families who are descendants of Primogenitors. Though their bloodlines are only weakened versions of their ancestors, they could still use the weakend version and also be hostile toward you—they won't want another Primogenitor rising," Amanda explained, leaving Victor staring at her in bewilderment.
"Wait a minute… what Tower are you talking about?" Victor asked, stunned.
