Then his memory suddenly jolted as he remembered reading in an ancient script in his last life that there were special kinds of weapons in which spirits could reside. These weapons were vastly different from normal ones, far more powerful even when compared to weapons of the same rank. His eyes widened in disbelief as he looked at the giant sword.
"Camelia, can you tell me a bit more about Soul Weapons?" Victor asked the woman. He felt no malicious intent from her and let his guard down slightly, as he didn't know much about Soul Weapons other than some vague knowledge.
"Hmm, so you've decided to trust me a bit," Camelia chuckled as she floated toward Victor.
"Well, let's see… First of all, Soul Weapons are very different from ordinary weapons. They can be any kind of weapon, or even a grimoire for wizards."
"Soul Weapons can be directly stored inside a person's mindspace and can be summoned by the person they're bonded with, no matter where they are."
"Some Soul Weapons also have special abilities. These abilities are usually sealed and can only be unlocked after fulfilling certain tasks."
Camelia pondered for a moment, then looked at Victor and said, "Soul Weapons only have three ranks: the minimum is SSS rank, then Legendary rank, and the highest is Mythical. They also have the power to overpowerer normal weapons of higher rank. For example, a Legendary-ranked Soul Weapon can destroy a normal Mythical weapon."
Victor nodded at her explanation.
"Hey, Victor, I can see you've already bonded with this sword. Use your Akasha Eye on it. Even though I've been sealed in it for years, I don't know anything about it—not even the weapon's name," Camelia said.
Victor's eyebrows twitched.
'Tsk, she even knows about my skills, damn it,' Victor clicked his tongue as he looked at Camelia, who winked at him.
"Akasha Eye," Victor muttered as he activated his technique, while Camelia's playful look vanished as she began watching him seriously.
'Just what kind of skill is this? I've never heard of something this bizarre—not to mention that tree,' Camelia thought as she glanced at the Akasha Tree. Both had names similar to the Akashic Records, and she concluded it must be related to them or even part of the records. Her eyes widened as she wondered if every Primogenitor had something similar that allowed them to dominate their era.
[Nemesis]
[Type: Soul Weapon]
[Rank: Celestial]
[Ability 1: Can take the form of any kind of weapon]
[Ability 2: ??????]
[Awakening Condition: Kill 1000 A-rank monsters while being Tier 0 and feed the corpses to the Sword]
[Ability 3: ?????]
[Awakening Condition: ?????]
'Celestial Rank?' Victor frowned when he saw the unfamiliar ranking. He looked back at Camelia and noticed her staring at the row of text with wide eyes.
"Hey, do you know about this rank?" Victor asked.
Camelia took a deep breath before answering, causing her already prominent breasts to puff out even more, as though they wanted to break free from the thin, silky fabric that cruelly contained them.
"I have only heard legends of this rank back when I was a high Ranker. From the records of the Dragon Clan, Celestial Rank is above Mythical, and there are rumors that only Primogenitors had been able to wield them and had," Camelia said as she looked at Victor.
"What! Higher than Mythical Rank?" Victor shouted in disbelief as he stared intently at the Sword.
'Could this be fate?' Victor thought as a chill ran down his spine. Him coming here, receiving the mission, and now finding this Sword—it all felt like something was pulling the strings. Victor took a deep breath to calm down, reminding himself that his main priority should be to focus on getting stronger.
Victor was surprised when he saw the first ability. His lips twitched when he looked at the second ability and noticed the awakening condition.
"Hey, Miss High Ranker, isn't this a bit too difficult?" Victor said to Camelia, who just shrugged.
"It's a Soul Weapon ability. What did you expect?" Camelia replied indifferently, though she frowned inwardly. 'But even this condition is a bit too difficult…'
"So, back to the matter—why are you here again in my mind space, and can you please leave?" Victor said bluntly, which caused Camelia's eyebrows to twitch.
"You still want me to leave after I helped you? I thought you trusted me," Camelia pouted, standing beside him and about to embrace Victor, who dodged.
"The reason I'm here is because of the curse," Camelia said.
"Curse?" Victor's eyebrows rose.
"Yes, remember the shadowy figure that the tree over there destroyed? That was the curse," Camelia said as she pointed at the tree. "After the curse was lifted, you bonded with the Sword, and I also got free. Since I'm bonded with the Sword like you, I have to stay wherever the Sword stays," Camelia explained.
"So, you're not leaving," Victor deadpanned.
"What? After countless years, I've finally found someone who can see me, much less have a conversation with me! There's no way I'd leave you alone now. Also, you're the only one I can talk to since you're bound to the Sword. If you want me to leave, you'd have to cancel your connection with the Sword. Do you really want to lose a Soul Weapon just because you don't want me here?" Camelia said with a smirk.
"...Fair enough," Victor said as he rubbed his temples.
"Tsk, shouldn't you be happy to be accompanied by such a beautiful woman? If you want, we can even have sex in our spirit forms, and later, when I get my body back, I'll let you ravish me," Camelia said with a seductive look.
"Are you dragons so lustful?" Victor asked, calming himself down from the temptress's attempt.
"Dragons rank in the top two with the White Tiger Clan," Camelia said with a shrug.
"Also, you forgot—I have a vast amount of knowledge of techniques and spells I can teach you if you let me sta—" Camelia was interrupted before she could continue.
"Accept. I accept," Victor said instantly when he heard this, which caused Camelia's eyebrows to twitch.
