"Cough!!"
Shuo nearly choked on Xenovia's bombshell. His face twitched; even Grayfia, usually unflappable, was left blushing and speechless. Shuo jumped in to smooth things over, finally defusing the chaos.
Soon after, everyone boarded the dimensional train back to the human world. Peaceful days returned—at least, on the surface.
But a few days later, someone Shuo had dreamed of for ages suddenly appeared before him.
"Lord Shuo! It's been so long!"
Gabriel didn't hesitate. The moment she saw him, she dove straight into his arms, voice brimming with longing.
WHUMP.
Shuo took the full force of Gabriel's "tackle"—and nearly blacked out. After all, Gabriel's heavenly assets were the stuff of legend, and this "face-washing" was almost too much to handle.
Not that Shuo minded. Opportunities like this didn't come often, and he was in no rush to let go.
Only when he was genuinely struggling to breathe did he finally gasp,
"Gabriel, thanks for the warm welcome, but… could you let go? I can barely breathe!"
Gabriel blinked, suddenly realizing the situation. Her cheeks flushed a deep pink as she hurriedly released him.
Once he'd caught his breath, Shuo managed a smile.
"Gabriel, I thought you'd forgotten me. I even asked Michael to pass along a message last time—didn't expect you to show up in person."
Gabriel clasped her hands to her chest, her voice urgent yet sincere.
"Lord Shuo, Heaven's been busy—so many things needed my attention. I'm truly sorry I couldn't come sooner!"
She looked up at him, guilt in her eyes, about to bow in apology.
Shuo hadn't expected her to take his teasing so seriously. Flustered, he grabbed her hands with an awkward grin.
"You don't need to be so formal, Gabriel. I was just joking—I could never be mad at you. And you don't have to call me so formally, either!"
Gabriel paused, then nodded softly, her eyes gentle.
Shuo squeezed her hand, smiling.
"So, Gabriel, aside from seeing me, is there another reason for your visit?"
Gabriel blinked her innocent eyes and replied,
"My mission this time is to become the health teacher for your household, Shuo-kun. Please take care of me from now on!"
"Wait, what?!"
Shuo froze. Health teacher?
He vaguely remembered joking about this before—asking the little Saint if Gabriel could be "gifted" to him as a health teacher. At the time, he'd only gotten eye-rolls and snark in return.
Heh… so the Bible's loli god really did have a tsundere streak.
"In that case, Gabriel, I look forward to working together!"
He pulled her closer, beaming.
"Mmm…"
Gabriel blushed at the closeness, her body reacting in ways she clearly didn't understand. Her shy, pure innocence only made Shuo's heart pound harder.
He had to admit: Gabriel's reputation as Heaven's greatest beauty was no exaggeration. Even gods and devils from all three realms coveted her. Now, holding her hand, Shuo finally understood why.
Still, he forced himself to hold back. Kissing her now would be dangerous—if an angel's heart wavered, their pure white wings would flicker with black. Lose control, and they'd fall.
Gabriel was the very image of purity. She deserved to keep those golden wings.
Shuo didn't have the ability to forcibly prevent an angel's fall—at least, not yet. Better to play it safe. He'd wait for the right moment, and then take her to that special "room" Michael had invented in the original story—a place where angels and humans could be together without risking a fall.
When Shuo had traveled through worlds, he'd specifically asked the little Saint for one of those "rooms." She'd only looked at him with utter disdain, but for the sake of "exploring the meaning of life," Shuo had no shame.
Ding! Congratulations, host—sign-in mission complete. Black-tier reward granted!
The system's voice snapped him out of his reverie. Shuo grinned, finally letting go of Gabriel.
"Let's go home! I'll introduce you to the rest of the family."
"I understand, Shuo-kun!"
Gabriel's eyes curved into cheerful crescents, her smile radiating pure innocence and joy.
Back home, the girls were initially shocked to see Gabriel, but quickly regained their composure. After all, their man had been eyeing Gabriel for ages—this was hardly a surprise.
Still, their silent judgment of Shuo reached new heights.
That night, the household threw a rare welcome party for Gabriel. Laughter and music filled the halls, but in the shadows, Kuroka was already hatching her own plans.
The festivities ran late, giving Kuroka just the opportunity she needed.
Once everyone else was asleep, Kuroka flashed a victorious grin and crept toward Shuo's room.
Tonight, Shuo was alone. Not by choice—his monstrous stamina meant the girls couldn't keep up, so they'd all agreed: "life exploration" needed moderation. Most nights, teamwork was a must. Going solo was just too much.
So, for once, Shuo was left to his own devices.
But he wasn't sleeping. He lay on his bed, staring at the ceiling, energy to burn.
Ding! Black-tier reward opened—Congratulations, host, you have obtained [The Everdistant Utopia].
Wait… wasn't that the scabbard of Excalibur?
Shuo's eyes widened in surprise.
In the Type-Moon world, The Everdistant Utopia—Avalon—was legendary. Immortality, instant healing, agelessness, and "absolute defense" that could reflect any magic or physical attack. Even the EX-rank Anti-World Noble Phantasm Enuma Elish, at full power, couldn't pierce Avalon's protection.
A perfect match for his Sword of Promised Victory. A defensive treasure beyond compare.
Shuo grinned, feeling the weight of destiny settle comfortably in his palm.
