"DXD: Multiverse Journey"Chapter 258: Tohka's Mortifying Social Death

Night had fallen, the moon veiled behind a misty gauze that blurred the edges of the sky.

The moment Shuo and Origami stepped through the door, they were met with a barrage of curious stares from every girl in the house. It was the sort of scrutiny that sent chills down Shuo's spine; he managed a sheepish smile.

"Why are you all looking at me like that? You're making me blush here."

"..."

How can he say that with a straight face?!

"Hehe, we're just dying to know what went down between you and little Origami," Nia drawled from the center of the living room, sprawled across the sofa like a tipsy empress, nursing a bottle. "Yesterday, Origami even came asking me for tips about our dates—hic!"

Shuo flopped onto the couch, head tilted, a teasing grin tugging at his lips. "You want the details? Sure… but you'll have to ask Origami. I just followed her lead."

A chorus of exasperated sighs and rolled eyes swept through the room.

Origami, for her part, hadn't planned on sharing the specifics of her date with Shuo. But, for the sake of her one and only disciple, Yuzuru, she relented and began recounting her experience—calm, clinical, and utterly unfiltered. As she described the love hotel in meticulous detail, Shuo's composure cracked. This—this—she's actually saying all that out loud?!

"And finally… I did things with Shuo that only married couples are supposed to do! I'm very satisfied with our date."

Silence. A heavy, absolute hush descended on the villa, as if time itself had frozen.

"Toh-Tobiichi Origami, you—you—!" Tohka's face flared bright red, her finger trembling as she tried to find the words. She'd thought Origami ditched their group just to avoid interruptions, not to… do that. And now she was shamelessly broadcasting it to everyone!

Tobiichi Origami, you really are my greatest rival. I can't let my guard down for a second!

Origami blinked. "What? Didn't you get drunk once and join me and Shuo—"

"Kyaa! Stop talking!" Tohka squeaked, memories of the King's Game flashing through her mind. She lunged forward, clapping her hand over Origami's mouth before she could spill any more.

The other girls exchanged sly glances, their eyes full of mischief. So that's the real Tohka, huh?

The pure, innocent Tohka's cheeks blushed a furious crimson, and she bolted for her room, mortified.

Kurumi and the others glared daggers at Shuo, their expressions full of wounded jealousy. Only Yuzuru, Origami's disciple, looked positively starstruck.

"Amazing. Master Origami accomplished what Yuzuru only dreams of."

Origami and Yuzuru immediately launched into a passionate discussion, leaving the rest of the group helplessly exasperated.

The next morning, Shuo was up early, ready for his date. To his surprise, Tohka had arrived at the meeting spot even earlier.

She tucked away her mirror, then broke into a radiant smile, arms wide open. "You're here, Shuo!"

Up close, Tohka was a vision: a pure white dress under a pale blue jacket, midnight-black hair flowing down her back, a red butterfly bow perched on her head. Her beauty was luminous, her joy infectious.

"You look gorgeous today, Tohka," Shuo said, sincere.

"R-really? Thank you, Shuo." Flustered but delighted, Tohka mimicked Origami and pressed a sweet kiss to his cheek. Then she latched onto his arm, bubbling with excitement.

"Date, date! Shuo, let's start our date!"

"Alright, I'm all yours today, Tohka." Shuo squeezed her hand, his voice soft with affection.

Hand in hand, they made their way to the bustling snack street.

"Two extra-large crepes, please!" Tohka ordered.

Moments later, each held a golden, crispy crepe stuffed with clouds of whipped cream, fresh fruit, and ribbons of jam. The first bite was a revelation—crunchy, sweet, and impossibly light. No matter how much sugar was packed inside, it was addictive.

The crepe shop was supposed to be just the first stop, but Shuo found himself genuinely impressed.

He'd barely finished his first crepe when he noticed Tohka eyeing him, her own treat long gone. The look in her eyes was unmistakable: she wanted more.

Shuo couldn't help but laugh. He picked up a piece slathered in cream and waved it temptingly in front of her. "This one's loaded with cream. Wanna try?"

Tohka's mouth practically watered. She opened wide to bite, but Shuo playfully pulled the crepe back at the last second.

"Chomp!" She bit air.

Tohka pouted, glaring at him. Shuo grinned, teasing. "I thought little Tohka didn't want any…"

She said nothing, grabbing his arm and lunging for another bite—still just short.

"Chomp." Another miss.

"You big meanie!" Frustrated, Tohka balled her fists and landed a flurry of soft punches on Shuo's shoulder.

He burst out laughing, unable to resist her adorable attacks. Then, with a flourish, he bit one end of the crepe and held it out to her.

Tohka, usually the picture of innocence, didn't hesitate—she bit down on the other end.

They tugged at the crepe from opposite sides, lips inevitably meeting in the middle. Sparks flew—a jolt of electricity ran through Tohka, her cheeks blooming with color.

"Pretty good, right? This cream crepe is amazing," Shuo said, gently brushing her flushed cheek.

Tohka, overcome with embarrassment, buried her face in his chest.

Their playful flirting didn't go unnoticed. Passersby on the street stopped and stared, their morning instantly soured by an overdose of "couple cuteness."

Damn! Getting force-fed dog food first thing in the morning—no wonder they all turned into jealous lemons, silently wishing these lovebirds would end up as siblings.
