Chapter 33 - Chapter 33: You Actually Sat Down?

Why did it fail to penetrate the enemy's armor?!

According to Stelle's thinking, shouldn't she have shattered the "Grizzly" with one overwhelming blow, showcasing Stelle's divine power as the main character?

This plot doesn't seem right!

Bang!

The "Grizzly" punched Stelle, sending her flying over ten meters. Her body left a deep human-shaped indentation in the wall.

"Pathetic, haha—"

The "Grizzly" emitted a flat, emotionless electronic voice, as if mocking Stelle.

Since when do robots mock people?!

Stelle struggled to climb out of the indentation, her anger ignited. She refused to believe that as the main character of Honkai: Star Rail, she couldn't defeat a mere elite enemy!

Before transmigrating here, Stelle had long wanted to complain about Stelle's combat prowess being inconsistent. When fighting Cocolia, she was at the front line and took the most damage; she could even hold her own for a while against the Emanator-level Bug King without being instantly killed. This proved that Stelle, as the main character, wasn't weak.

But... sometimes, Stelle would get stuck fighting a few Abundance dogs—even with Welt alongside her.

There were even times when she was evenly matched with elite enemies.

It was just confusing.

In the end, Stelle concluded that the main reason Stelle could exchange blows with anyone was her thick health bar and durability.

Bang!

Stelle was sent flying again by the "Grizzly," leaving a second human-shaped indentation in the wall. But she didn't give up resisting. Soon, a third, fourth, and more indentations appeared on the wall...

The remaining Wildfire members who hadn't escaped yet fell silent at the sight. They had just learned that Stelle wasn't a resident of the Underworld, nor was she even from Belobog. She was completely unrelated to their world—just a passerby.

Yet this stranger, for their sake, kept charging forward again and again, no matter how badly she was beaten, without the slightest intention of retreating.

"Why are you looking at me? Run!"

Stelle struggled to get up from the ground once more and saw the last two remaining Wildfire members staring at her. She immediately grew furious. "Every second you waste is another second I get beaten..."

Before she could finish, the "Grizzly" barged into the cell with brute force, grabbed Stelle, and pinned her firmly against the wall.

"Your damn grandma..."

Stelle tried to pry open the Grizzly's mechanical fingers but still couldn't break free. However, when she saw the last Wildfire member escape, her initially anxious heart finally settled.

The plan was basically accomplished. Now, she just needed to find a way to escape. There was no way she would die at the hands of an elite enemy...

"Suspect has escaped. Requesting execution of the perpetrator..."

The "Grizzly"'s mechanical eyes glowed with a dangerous red light. Its electronic voice made Stelle's recently calmed heart race again.

Wait, this isn't right, is it?

Generally speaking, shouldn't you capture me and then try to extract information from me? If I refuse, you'd use various methods to threaten or coax me?

What do you mean, direct execution?!

"Requesting... Request denied. Execution failed..."

After a few seconds, the "Grizzly" suddenly uttered these words, then tossed Stelle to the Vagrants outside the cell. "Orders received. Take her to see Lord Root. Execute immediately."

...

Cocolia and the others stepped on a red carpet and entered a warm, luxurious room. A desk faced the main door, devoid of messy documents but instead laden with dishes that would be considered top-tier even in the Upperworld.

Behind the desk, a man who appeared to be in his thirties, with a burly build, sat leisurely. Seeing the group enter, he enthusiastically said, "Oh? Everyone's here? Quick, please, have a seat."

The man seemed to be in quite a good mood. He pointed to a nearby sofa, gesturing for Cocolia and the others to sit.

The minister in charge of the peace talks raised his hand, signaling the others to stand still. He tremblingly walked up to the man and bowed his head. "Lord Root, I am..."

"I told you to sit down!"

Root suddenly slammed the table, his attitude doing a complete 180. "Do you not understand what I'm saying, or are you deliberately ignoring me?!"

The minister was startled by Root's sudden outburst. He took two steps back and quickly signaled Cocolia and the others with his eyes to sit down.

As a result, once the peace talk team had all sat down, Root suddenly pulled open a drawer in his desk, took out a golden pistol, and frowned. "You actually sat down?"

Minister: "..."

The minister instinctively tried to stand up but found Root suddenly aiming the gun at him. "No standing! If word got out that my way of hosting guests is to make them stand, how bad would that make me look?"

Cocolia, standing to the side, closed her eyes. By this point, she already wanted to impale this bastard with an ice spear. But considering her responsibilities, she suppressed the impulse.

The minister suddenly understood Root's intention. Now, whether he stood or sat, it wouldn't be right. The other party's meaning was already very clear.

Although he had ten thousand reasons not to want to, thinking about the current chaos in the Upperworld, he forced himself to kneel on one knee, adopting the humblest posture. "Lord Root, I am the military minister in charge of peace talks. On behalf of the Upperworld, I beg you not to go to war."

"Now that's more like it." Root laughed heartily. "So, you agree to my demand for half the autonomy?"

The minister lowered his head. "I am very sorry, Lord Root. Although we cannot agree to that, please believe in our sincerity. We can offer—"

"What did you say?"

Root narrowed his eyes. "You disagree with this, yet still dare to say you came with sincerity? Do you have any idea how much I've already tolerated you? Distracting me while sending people to play tricks behind my back—did you really think I wouldn't notice?"

"W-What do you mean?"

The minister looked bewildered; he genuinely had no idea what Root was talking about.

"Acting ignorant!"

Root sneered and clapped his hands. "Brothers, bring them in!"

"Yes!"

A chorus of responses came from outside the door. Following the sound of footsteps, a group of Vagrants escorted two figures—one pink, one green—into the room. They were none other than March 7th and Dan Heng, who had earlier drawn away most of the firepower.

However, these two hadn't been truly unable to escape. March 7th, worried about Stelle's safety, suggested to Dan Heng: "How about we pretend to be captured and go take a look? Maybe we can even meet up with the Wildfire people directly."

Dan Heng immediately shook his head, saying the idea was too reckless. What if the other side decided to just kill them?

March 7th said, "If they try to kill us, we'll just run! If they don't, then once they take us into the fortress, we'll go straight for the heart and take down that Root!"

Dan Heng thought about it and said, "Alright." So the two of them, in front of a crowd of pursuers, put their hands on their heads, crouched down, and were delivered here.
