Chapter 34 - Chapter 34: Please Believe Me

In one room, three groups of people now stood.

Cocolia looked expressionlessly at Dan Heng and March 7th. What was the situation with these two?

Back in the Restricted Zone, she had observed their strength. Although they had some difficulty dealing with Svarog, they shouldn't have been captured by these trash Vagrants, right?

Did something unexpected happen? Or... were they planning something else?

On the other side, March 7th and the other looked at Cocolia in the peace negotiation team. What was this woman's situation?

Why had she also come to the Underworld? And she was actually in the peace negotiation team?

Moreover, judging from the strength she displayed in the Restricted Zone, she was fully capable of dominating everyone in the Vagrant headquarters, right? Why was she now acting subservient like that minister?

Planning something else?

On yet another side, Root looked at the two parties exchanging glances, feeling very pleased with himself.

He thought to himself: "Hah, with your level of strength, you still try to play the feint tactic? Do you even have the capability? My drone soldier army is no joke; no matter how fast you run, we'll catch you."

"Now that your scheme is exposed, let's see what excuse you can use to weasel out."

The minister trembled as he sized up Dan Heng and the other, suddenly slapping his thigh. "Oh my, this, this, this is truly a misunderstanding, a huge misunderstanding!"

Root: ?

The minister, looking utterly dismayed, pointed at Dan Heng and the other. "Lord Root, you might not know this, but these two troublemakers from the Underworld, claiming to be visitors from beyond the sky, went on a rampage of beating, smashing, looting, and plundering in our Upperworld! They are simply capable of any evil!"

"We originally thought they had died inside the Restricted Zone. Who would have thought, who would have thought they would still try every means to sabotage our peace talks!" The minister pointed at the two, his voice trembling. "Don't cause trouble at a time like this!"

He still didn't dare tell Root about the assassination attempt on the Supreme Guardian. Otherwise, if this guy found out, he wouldn't even hesitate to change his attitude.

"When did we go on a rampage of beating, smashing, looting, and plundering?" March 7th snorted coldly, expressing disdain. "If you are going to impose a crime, excuses are not hard to find."

"Wasn't it you who dined and dashed at the bakery?"

That one sentence left March 7th speechless. She felt somewhat embarrassed and turned her head away.

Root looked suspiciously at both parties. "Really?"

The minister almost knelt down right there. "Absolutely true! Lord Root, please kill them! I beg you!"

Hearing this, Dan Heng and the other were ready to resist at any moment. If this Root gave the nod, they would immediately fight back!

After all, within seven steps, let's see if your gun is faster, or my spear (Gleaming Lance) is faster.

Just then, a Vagrant suddenly ran in from outside: "Lord Root, something terrible has happened! The Wildfire people have all escaped!"

"What?!"

Root was greatly shocked and immediately stood up. "How did they escape? I'm asking you how they escaped?! They were all locked in cages in the basement! How did they escape?!"

Vagrant: "Sir, according to our on-site investigation, they dug a tunnel in the ceiling and escaped all the way out of the manor!"

Dug a tunnel in the ceiling? Root was stunned for a moment, then directly aimed his gun at the Vagrant. "I'll give you one chance to rephrase that."

"Lord Root, spare me! We compared it to the fortress's structural diagrams and found that the passage they used to escape indeed doesn't exist above. The only possibility is that they secretly dug it themselves!"

Root was furious. "They all escaped? That Se... whatever her name is, escaped too?"

"E...escaped. Ah, no, we caught one person. Svarog gave the order for us to bring her to see you." The Vagrant replied tremblingly.

"What use is this person to me?!" Root was so angry he slammed the table loudly. "That Se... whatever her name is escaped, and you're not going after her?! What if she finds another beer hall to give speeches? We'll have to fight guerrillas with Wildfire again!"

"Yes, yes!"

The Vagrant was about to run off, but Root added, "First, bring that captured person up too. It's really lively today. Why is everyone running to my place?"

"Yes!"

Under the gaze of the three factions, four Vagrants carried in a tightly bound figure. Stelle looked at the familiar faces on both sides and felt somewhat awkward: "Hi?"

Root looked surprised at the people on both sides. "Are you all together?"

"Who are you saying 'hi' to? Do we know you?" The minister scolded angrily. "Lord Root, this gray-haired person is together with these two next to her. Please kill them!"

"Hey, hey, hey! Sir, that's not what you said before!"

What kind of person was Stelle? With just a few words, she could pretty much guess the general situation on the scene. Her eyes darted, and she suddenly blurted out this sentence.

Root was also confused. He was momentarily silenced by Stelle's "Sir," then slowly looked at the minister. "Is she calling you?"

"Nonsense! I don't know this person at all!" The minister quickly said. "Lord Root, you must see clearly!"

Root raised his hand, signaling him to calm down. He looked at Stelle and asked, "You tell me, who are you?"

"Sir, I am the Silvermane Guards Senior Advisor, Bruhair, genuine and absolutely true!" Stelle said with a sincere face.

Root flew into a rage. "Well, so you Silvermane Guards came here to rescue people, is that it?"

The minister hurriedly explained, "Lord Root, you must not believe her one-sided story. She is absolutely talking nonsense!"

Root thought for a moment and asked again, "Fine, Bruhair, since you say you were sent by this old man, then tell me, what's his name?"

Without even thinking, Stelle immediately said, "His name is John Cena!!!"

This was a person he often used in high school. Whenever he needed to quote a famous saying in an essay, this name would always take a place.

After all, the graders couldn't remember all the famous quotes in the world. If I say it exists, no one can actually check.

The same principle applied here.

"Sir! Every word I say is true, absolutely genuine!" Stelle said with utmost sincerity. "If it is false, then may I, Bruhair·Sampo·Koski, be struck by lightning, work 25 hours a day, and absolutely die a terrible death!"

Hearing this, Dan Heng and March 7th exchanged glances, both looking embarrassed.

Wasn't this the scammer they encountered on the snow plains the other day?

Seeing the situation turning unfavorable, the minister immediately also swore, "I also swear by Qlipoth, if what I say is not true, may I be cut to pieces, lose all my wealth, and be left with nothing after divorce!"

Root looked at the two people in front of him, each oath more severe than the last, and thought seriously. "Alright, now that things have already happened, let's talk about what comes next. As long as you agree to the autonomy I demanded, I won't pursue this matter any further."

"Lord Root, only this one thing is impossible!" The minister said with a pained expression.

Stelle suddenly had an idea and said, "Lord Root, this matter... might not necessarily be impossible."
