"Hey, Rocket, where am I right now? Why does everything look… weird?"
In Jotunheim, Thor woke up from his hangover, stood up unsteadily, and looked down at Rocket Raccoon. Still groggy, he rubbed his head in confusion—then froze.
"F***k, what the hell happened to me?"
Thor's hand froze midair. The sensation told him instantly—this wasn't his head.
"Hey, easy there, big guy. Don't freak out. Honestly, you look way better than your chubby beer-belly version," Rocket said, grinning as he patted Thor's trousers. He laughed so hard he nearly fell over. "I gotta say, this new look—kinda suits you."
"Damn you, Rocket! Why do I look like this!?"
Thor's face turned grim. He kicked Rocket away, crouched down, and drew a circle on the icy ground with his finger. The frost instantly formed a reflective surface.
He looked into it—and froze again.
Gone was his beer belly. His body now stood a towering 2.5 meters tall, muscles solid and powerful. His chest was broad, his abs sharp, his form radiating pure strength and energy.
But what horrified him was not his body—it was his head.
He had the head of a horse.
A long, narrow muzzle. Sharp teeth. A mane brushing his shoulders.
"Shit… damn cosmic space anomalies!"
Thor punched the ice in frustration, and the shockwave left deep craters across the frozen ground. Even without counting the transformation, his physical strength had doubled.
"Cool! You should totally go by 'Horse-Face Thor' now. It's badass!"
Rocket climbed out of the snow pit, jumped onto Thor's shoulder, and gave him a playful pat. He wanted to pat Thor's head, but even standing on a mound, he couldn't reach.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Before Thor could reply, a patrol of five towering Frost Giants had already spotted them and charged.
"Jotunheim, huh? Perfect. We can take a shortcut to Asgard," Thor muttered.
With a thought, his body was suddenly clad in golden divine armor, his horse-faced head now covered with a perfectly fitted helmet. Lightning crackled around the Stormbreaker in his hand.
BOOM!
He hurled the axe. The Stormbreaker spun through the air, erupting with thunder, and the five Frost Giants were instantly blasted away.
"Hmm, my strength's definitely improved. Not the worst outcome," he said, catching the axe as it flew back to his hand. His hangover gone, Thor stretched his neck, now unfazed by his monstrous reflection.
"Hey, Horse-Face Thor, where we headed?" Rocket asked, stowing away a pile of heavy weapons. In a flash, he scurried up Thor's armor and perched on his shoulder, patting the horse head with satisfaction.
"My brother Loki once found a dimensional rift here. We'll use it to travel," Thor said. Lightning flared around his body as he took flight toward a distant mountain. Oddly enough, controlling the Stormbreaker now felt even more natural.
While soaring forward, Thor's sharp eyes caught sight of several icy crystal-like ships ahead.
"King Laufey? What's that old frost giant up to now?"
Thor frowned, gripping the Stormbreaker tightly. In an instant, he transformed into lightning and crashed onto one of the ships. The axe came down in a blinding arc—BOOM!—and the ship shattered, killing dozens of frost mages.
"Joanna, my daughter, what's going on?" King Laufey demanded from the lead frost ship, frowning.
"My father, it's the aura of Thor," Joanna said, conjuring an ice-crystal scepter in her hand. Her frosty perception allowed her to sense Thor and Rocket's energy immediately.
"That troublesome fool… Wait, didn't Odin strip him of his power?" Laufey muttered, puzzled.
He had been keeping close tabs on the All-Father's decrees. The magic that stripped Thor of his power couldn't possibly go unnoticed. So why now...?
"No… It's Thor's energy, yes—but his head… is that a horse?" Joanna said incredulously.
"Horse-Face Thor? Hah! Come, Joanna. Let's go meet this… Horse-Face Thor," Laufey said with an amused grin. He stood from his icy throne as the frost ship's hatch opened, forming a crystal platform beneath him and his daughter. They descended toward Thor's position.
"Oh, my dear daughter, there's no mistaking it. That's Thor! Hahaha!" Laufey laughed heartily. He remembered well the brash Asgardian prince who once invaded Jotunheim—and barely escaped with his life.
Thor looked up at the frost king. The thunder around him dimmed, replaced by a calm smile. He struck his chest with a fist in Asgardian salute.
"Honored King of Jotunheim, ruler of ice and snow—Thor of the Horse-Face greets you," he said formally.
"Thor… Thor?" Laufey stared in disbelief. The last time they met, Thor was arrogant and battle-hungry, declaring war on Jotunheim. But now—this polite tone was shocking.
"No. I am Horse-Face Thor now. As you can see, for certain reasons, I've… changed. But let's skip the details. Asgard is facing an unprecedented crisis. As the future heir to Odin, I need an army," Thor said calmly.
Rocket blinked. "Thor, are you serious? Asgard and Jotunheim have been enemies forever!"
"I know," Thor said with a faint smile. "But if there's one thing I learned on Earth—it's that there are no eternal enemies. Only eternal interests."
