Chapter 6 - Chapter 5: Tch! Adamas Is A Better God Than These Fools Are

For some reason, Adamas had a very bad feeling.

It was not the type of bad feeling that someone was about to do something stupid, nor the type that someone she cared about was about to die. No. What she felt was her 『Poseidonas senses』 going haywire.

Did something happen that pissed him off a lot?

Pondering over as to why Percy was pissed, she almost did not hear a certain familiar centaur calling out her attention.

"Adamas? Are you with us?" asked Chiron. When Adamas arrived at camp with Grover showing her the way, she was welcomed by Mr. Brunner, who introduced himself as Chiron the Camp Director, and Annabeth Chase, a blonde girl who proudly introduced herself as the demigoddess daughter of Athena.

Huh? It looks like there are demigods in this world who are actual half-human half-gods, unlike our previous world, thought Adamas, who was amused at the knowledge.

Adamas responded back to Chiron's question. "Pardon me. I just have a lot to think about."

Chiron nodded at her answer. Noticing the absence of Percy, he asked her, "By the way, where is Percy? From what I have observed back then, you two are always together."

Hearing him casually calling Percy by his nickname, Grover shuddered. He knew that if Percy himself heard him call him that, he won't hesitate to castrate him. Adamas does not take lightly well on Chiron calling her former brother as 『Percy』. She reproached him, "Chiron, please do not call my brother by his nickname. He only allowed his mother, Aunt Sally, to call him that. Poseidonas preferred being called as Perseus by everyone else."

Chiron, Grover, and Annabeth both shivered at the glare she gave them. Grover, being the only one who knows about the importance of their names, tried to calm her down. "C-Calm down, Adamas. They d-did not k-know that."

Reluctantly, she calmed down. Just then, the earth trembled terribly. Another powerful earthquake has occured. The campers around are trying to evacuate out of their respective cabins. Almost everyone started panicking.

"Another earthquake?!"

"D*mn it! We just had a strong one a few days ago!!"

"Are we having another Pseudo Apocalypse round again?!"

"Is this Lord Poseidon's doing?!"

"Are we under attack?!"

While the campers are busy either panicking or trying to help out those who are hurt from the stampede, Adamas sensed her (former) brother's killing intent and divine aura going haywire. Her eyes widen in realization.

Sh*t! Something must have happened to Aunt Sally! I need to calm him down!

Seeing her about to sprint out of the camp, Chiron called out to her. "Adamas, why are you running away?"

Adamas, without turning around to face them, said in an urgent voice, "I need to see my brother. I'm worried for Poseidonas. He might have been hurt." No, he is not but Aunt Sally is. Without waiting for their response, she leaped from the ground and to the air as she hurriedly went towards the source of the earthquake herself.

She jumped down from the air after sensing him. Looking at her surroundings, she discovered that a fight had happened just recently. A few meters away from Percy lies the horn of a Minotaur. She could no longer sense Sally around. Adamas saw Percy's face being murderous.

Knowing that she is the only one left in this world who is capable of calming him down, she hugged him. Putting his head on her shoulder as she patted his back, she gently released her own divine aura and engulfed his, sending out calming waves. Her own divine aura felt like a mother's hug itself. Her actions slowly calmed him down, his killing intent slowly diminished until it was no more. Adamas could feel him trembling slightly. Her shoulders feel wet. Tears? It's been a very long time since I've last saw him cry. Aunt Sally really is important to him for him to break down like this.

"M-Mother is gone. I failed to protect her," lamented he. Adamas continued to pat his back. She also felt sad that Sally was gone. But she knew that her soul is still within this world as ■ F■ ■ C■ ■e h■ ■ v■■n ■ w■ ■e ■ ■ ■ h■ d■■p■■e ■ ■ e■■t■t ■ ■ f■ b■d ■ h■n.

"I'm here, Poseidonas. Sister's here. Aunt Sally won't let you break down." She then pulled away from him and held on to his face, forcing him to face her. "Tell me. Did you feel her soul disperse? Are the protection spells that you had placed on her completely disappear? Let's think of it this way, Poseidonas. Since you placed a lot of protection spells on her, then she has some of your divine aura, does she not? If she's truly dead, then you would have felt your aura returned from her."

Percy understood exactly what she meant. He used his divine senses to sense Sally until he felt an unusual aura surrounding both her and his divine aura. His face immediately turned sour. "She's in this world's Underworld. What does Hades want with her?"

Immediately, at the casual yet aggressive mention of Hades' name, the entire surroundings within 1 km suddenly became darker and drearier despite the coldness of the storm. Seeing and sensing this, both Percy and Adamas quashed Hades' killing intent, all the while Percy sending his own killing intent mixed with his divine aura directed straight at Hades. He made sure not to harm his mother with it while sending a clear message at his (former) brother's parallel self: 『You better have a good reason for kidnapping MY mother, Hades. Or I WILL erase your entire existence in this universe!』

Adamas held on his hand to calm him down. "Come, Poseidonas. Let's go. We'll worry about saving Aunt Sally later. For now, we need to go to camp. They might have information on why she was kidnapped." She then glared at him, "And don't even give me that look. Yes, we can just barge in straight to the Underworld as we're both strong enough for it. But who's to say that this world's Hades won't harm her? There's a great possibility that Hades here is completely different from our own brother."

Her logical reasoning calmed him down. Together and hand in hand, they went to Camp Half-Blood.

[4 days later, at Camp Half-Blood...]

Many things happened within that time frame. First, Percy found out that the camp his mother was talking about is a haven for demigods. He was surprised to know that these demigods are actual half-bloods and not just gods with human hearts, like the Valkyries from his former universe. But then again, from what he had read and researched about the gods of this world, he wasn't exactly that surprise to know that they are as incompetent and incorrigible as he thought they were. His previous conversations with Sally about the gods before the Minotaur incident gave it away.

Second, the entire camp was a huge mess. A lot of structure had huge cracks on the walls and pillar columns. Some reduced to rubble. A lot of campers, especially the demigods from Hephaestus Cabin, were working hard to rebuild the fallen buildings and repair the others. Demigods from the Apollo Cabin were working extra hard to help and heal the wounded.

Third, Percy refused to sleep with the Hermes Cabin campers. Annabeth, who was assigned to tour both Adamas and Percy, had shown them about the ins and outs of camp and had shown them where they would be staying temporarily, until they get "determined" on who's their godly parent. Percy, ever the arrogant and apathetic (demi) god, glared at her with contempt and vehemently refused to stay in the Hermes Cabin. He further proved his point by dragging Adamas with him for them to stay in the forest near the lake. Every single being who was near them, all shuddered in fear of the former Tyrant.

Fourth, he found out Mr. Brunner's real name as Chiron, the famous centaur from the myths who was the son of his father's parallel self, Cronos and the Oceanid nymph, Philyra and was both a teacher and tutor of many heroes. He has also officially met his first god in this world and life: Dionysus, the [god of wine, festivities, and pleasures], who was playing pinochle with Chiron.

"I must say, Perseus," Chiron said. "I'm glad to see you alive. It's been a long time since I've made a house call to a potential camper. I'd hate to think I've wasted my time."

Percy raised an eyebrow. "What is this house call you are talking about?"

"My year at York Academy, to instruct you. We have satyrs at most schools, of course, keeping a lookout. But Grover alerted me as soon as he met you. He sensed you were something special, so I decided to come upstate. I convinced the other Latin teacher to ... ah, take a leave of absence."

Percy could only sigh internally. I must calm myself down first. They might know why she's been kidnapped.

Chiron did a double take. "That's it? You don't have any questions?"

"No."

Chiron asked Adamas, who was beside Percy the entire time. "How about you, Adamas?"

"None as well. Our surroundings says enough."

"Grover," Dionysus said impatiently. "Are you playing or not?"

"Yes, sir!" Grover trembled as he took the fourth chair.

"You do know how to play pinochle?" Dionysus eyed the two suspiciously.

"Nah, no thanks," Adamas said. "I'll just watch."

Dionysus continued to look at her before he shrugged and called a random satyr to join, the satyr nearly fainted.

With how he presented himself, what is Percy's first impression on Dionysus? Extremely irritating. He kept babbling on how he was punished by his father, Zeus, just because he was caught lusting over a wood nymph who was off-limits and how he hated being assigned to "watch over some demigod brats", becoming their camp director. He even haughtily told them that the myths they learned about are real and even tried to intimidate them.

Percy, on the other hand, was staring down at Dionysus with indifference and contempt, looking down at him. "Why should I be terrified of a filthy, useless garbage like you?"

This cause Dionysus and Chiron to stop playing. Dionysus glared at Percy, his insult angered him greatly. Chiron wanted to berate Percy but stopped when he felt Dionysus' killing intent leaking out. The two satyrs who were playing with them trembled in fear.

"What did you say to me, you brat?!"

The god of wine's killing intent did nothing to Percy. Instead, he leaked out a small portion of his own killing intent mixed with his divine aura, quashed down Dionysus' own killing intent that was now laced with his own divine aura as well to further intimidate him.

"Do you want me to repeat myself? I said you are nothing more than a filthy, useless garbage. You call yourself a god when you present yourself as less of a god and more of a worthless trash."

The air around them seemed to freeze. Dionysus, although was angry, became terrified when felt his own domain related to 『insanity』slowly crumbling down. He felt his surroundings became darker and darker until they became as dark as the void and as deep as the abyss of the deep sea. Countless stars, planets, and nebulas filled the void.

Suddenly, two large lakes appear right in front of him. It took Dionysus a while to realize that those lakes were eyes. These two eyes then opened and glared at him with so much contempt that he felt his own incarnation body slowly breaking. Cracks appeared on his left cheek and both arms.

On the outside, Chiron, Grover, the random satyr, and Adamas could see Dionysus' body forming cracks. Ichor ran down from his mouth and eyes. The three, bar Adamas, trembled in fear and trepidation at the divine aura and killing intent Percy was leaking. Their fear got worse when they saw that it was his own divine aura that was the cause of Dionysus' body breaking down.

Seeing as how Percy was about to kill Dionysus, Adamas smacked the back of Percy's head hard. This cause the aura to dissipate and for Dionysus to wake up, who was in a half-dead state when he accidentally looked at Percy in the eyes.

Tightening her grip on his arm, Adamas spoke for the both of them instead. "Dionysus, Chiron, the both of us already know about the whole mythos thing. With everything going on around us for years, it is only natural that we learned of this world. Also, sorry for my brother. Poseidonas always has a low opinion of the gods of this world."

She then walked away from them while holding Percy's hand. But before they went further away, Adamas turned to look at them. "Ah. By the way, I'm the same as well. My opinions of the gods of this world is low as well. However, unlike Poseidonas here, I won't just go around threaten anyone. Unless, that is, they did something to anger me."

The three could hear Percy clicked his tongue as they further walked away. "Tch! You really should have let me cripple him completely, Adamas."

Adamas, seeing as they are now far away from any living beings, berated him. "Poseidonas, no. I get that you're angry but for now, calm down. He can't die yet. We still need more information."

Percy turned to look at her in the eyes, his expression soften. He then commented her, causing her to blush. "You're a better god than these fools are, Adamas."
