On learning of the truth behind the entire situation, Leavis' mouth dropped ajar at Stanley's betrayal and Martin's play along. "If one's friends are capable of a small betrayal, they can do more." The thought of it brought a great pain to his Heart but was he not betraying them too? Thus, he brushed it off and turned to the dazzling twins, tracing the marks on their skins to their faces and spoke.
"I am the third one, and thus want the power of Eternal youth!" he got to one knee as he lowered his head, not in reverence but to hide the grin on his face." There be no need for such formality with us!" The twins spoke in unison creating a melody. Then the brother spoke coldly "Are you prepared, to die in the trials is to die in all known realms, by agreeing to..."
"I accept all conditions" He interrupted him, the twin was bewildered "Well then... Begin your first trial! Rise to your feet." The twin extended an arm to Leavis, he ignored him and rose by his own effort "Thanks for the sentiment, but I'm not that old". There was no response but everything froze in place, "The hell is..." before Leavis could finish his comment he turned around and saw it.
At the entrance of the cave, a bright white light shone and the two silhouettes before it begun to turn into a black sand that swirled beneath Leavis' feet, he jumped around frightened by this, but it didn't stop their, soon every thing in the cave disintegrated into the black sand and swirled around Leavis "The hell's going on!" he panicked and tried to run but it was of no use.
Soon, Leavis was absorbed by the sand, shivering in it's cold but comforting dark embrace "Is this the trial?" he questioned himself, and then it stopped a strange silence befell, silence calling him. Leavis heard the voice of silence. "Who... who is that calling me!" he panicked and covered his ears with his fits, so tight that his nose begun to bleed, then the sand fell away around him. And he was standing before something that made his eyes widen in fear.
The figure and Leavis were not so far it was about 15 feet from him, it was a giant, curvaceous woman with mature bosoms, dressed in a white robe and veil befalling her curly long golden hair in a voice firm and loud she addressed the shivering Leavis "Young man! Leavis, how long I've awaited you!" 'Is she blind, I'm no young man! And how does she know my name??'. He hadn't yet realised his transformation.
As he studied her tentatively, he noticed that she was hovering above the reflective floor, it was so reflective the image of her hovering body on it was indistinguishable from her true form 'if only her dress was shorter, wait, what am I thinking!' he shifted his gaze to the floor beneath him, and there he saw himself 'This is madness!' he was overjoyed when he saw that he was young again, with youthful green eyes, healthy skin and his short white hair with his short braid to the right. 'Finally! no more wrinkles... Freedom!'
He was feeling his tender face 'But wait! How does she know me?' he stopped, composed himself and looked at her "How do you know me?" she giggled, "don't you recall? You promised to love me..." the ground begun to quake, Leavis straggled to remain standing as the white sky, in a flash turned red, then the woman started to split into different giant women, all speaking with deep raging voices "FOREVER!!!"
His eyes widened as he observed the figures encircle, hovering around him 'These are all the women I womanized!!' he begun to shiver, they halted, their heads glitching to the right, then left then their mouths dropped to the floor, revealing tall razor-sharp teeth. 'This must be Karma!', and yes, yes it was.
They crept closer, the red sky begun to flicker on and off, black and red, again and again, Leavis was running mad 'make it stop! Make it stop!!!' the sky flickered for long, on turning back red Leavis' body was bloodied, surrounded by many women who were feasting and tearing him apart, some fighting and trampling over others... just to get a taste.
He never had the time to scream... he watched them gnarl and wolf him, feeling their cold fingers smudging in his flesh, touch his bones and rip him apart. 'Why! Why! Why! Why!! WHY!!!' he screamed in his mind, then his mind wandered and behind them he saw a hazy woman, dressed in a royal blue dress, illuminated by a ray of light bursting from the sky, her orange hair dancing in the petite hands of a baby cradled in her embrace.
His eyes widened "Genevive!" he called out, but she couldn't hear, she spun around and giggled with her baby, he heard the child giggle mischievously and a stream of tears burst from his eyes and mixed with his blood as the women continued to devour him and smear him in blood. "I'm sorry!!! Please don't leave!!!" he cried out as the image of Genevive and the child retreated into the distance, fading away. Leaving him to suffer at the hands of those he wronged.
Abruptly they stopped and moved away with their hair covering their faces, their bodies covered in blood spatters, he struggled to remain standing, his robes were torn through and smeared in blood, his skeleton exposed loose flesh attached, covered in blood gasping for air crying and screaming hoarsely, one before him moved closer. "Did you like our masterpiece?" their heads glitched to the right this to Leavis was disturbing.
His tearing eyes widened in shock, shaking, disabled, helpless. In all his life, Leavis only felt like this once in his entire life apart from now "I'm sorry! I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry IM SORRYY!!!!!" he screamed out shaking, with all his might, they smiled "yay! You liked it --- now die!", "what is wrong with you!"
"There are something that can't be fixed with mere apologies" their voices cold as the words echoed, goosebumps rising on Leavis' skin, they smiled, exposing sharp jiggered teeth and slowly marched towards him, he spun around but saw no escape "no! Not this way! Not this way!" he searched eagerly, barely able to stand but vainly struggling to, in his mind, he knew he was done for, fell to his feet, bowed and scram "PLEASEEE! FORGIVE MEE!!!".
But they only quickened in pace, falling atop him, one by one, sinking their teeth deep into his back, neck and other parts, they fell endlessly, Leavis felt them all, getting heavier one by one, his remaining flesh and robe being stripped away feeling as though ants were biting away his flesh mercilessly, he cried out, lost his voice again.
He saw them face by face in his mind, Abigail, Ada, Adeline, Agnes, Alice, Amelia, Anna the list kept growing Ava, Bea, Billie, Catherine, Camila, Camille, Caroline, Cecilia, Celine, charlotte. I could go on and on... his brain boiled from overload of name by name, face by face, lie by lie, memory by memory, word by word, day by day, voice by voice, scent by scent, hour by hour, smile by smile... all unravelled before him as he slowly plucked the hairs from his head, in grief, in regret, in his mind repeating to himself, screaming 'IM SORRY! IM SORRY! IM SORRY! IM SORRY! IM SORRY! IM SORRY! IM SORRY! IM SORRY! IM SORRY! IM SORRY! IM SORRY! IM SORRY! IM SORRY! IM SORRY! IM SORRY! IM SORRY! IM SORRY! IM SORRY! IM SORRY!!!!!!!!'
"What Trial is this? This can't be real! Mockery, that's what this all is, MOCKERY!!!", he raged as he threw his bloody skeleton fists at the women, they passed through them as though holograms. By then, his face was but a thin fabric hanging onto his face barely, covered in blood, his head scarce of hair, he felt hazy, and as the women stretched their hands to his face and pulled flesh from it, he fell to the ground on his face.
The moment his face made impact with the cold reflective floor it rippled as though a still lake, and he fell through it, emersed, floating in a night sky blue lake, cold gripping him, his torn skin and robes releasing blood into it.
He awoke 'so cold!' panic struck his being when he realised where he was, he gasped desperately for oxygen, but instead filled his lungs with water and begun to choke, squirming, he waved his bones but couldn't get anywhere, then before him shone a pair of wide yellow eyes shrouded in the distance by the darkness 'what now!' he spoke to himself hoping for the best... but as fate would have it, it was something he, was not prepared for.
The eyes got wider and soon were revealed as those of a woman, yes, a giant head underwater 'please be merciful! I've already been though hell!' its skin pale, cracked and eyes dead and widely and inattentive, glaring at Leavis with a wide grin on her face, exposing her razor-sharp teeth, her golden hair dancing in the waves underneath.
Instantaneously, her attention locked on to the frightful Leavis, her grin vanished, eyes wide but now filled with scorn and hate, she dashed forth, her mouth ajar exposing an endless array of sharp pointed long vicious teeth, Leavis spun around opposing the viscosity and struggling to swim away, "Shit! Why is this happening! Is this how every other person's trial goes!?" questions built up in his mind as he tried but failed but kept pushing.
She was now a snap away his lower body placed directly under her upper teeth, at that instance, all hope left him, she snapped her mouth shut and split what was left of his lower body in half, and smiled, happy.
Leavis' eyes couldn't stay open, he was drifting away, and they finally shut.
Hearing the chirping of birds and humming of a sweet voice, Leavis felt the sun's warm rays provide warmth to his drenched torso 'is this... heaven, no it can't be, otherwise I'm in the wrong place' so he opened what was left of his eyes and lo and behold.
Before him was the bright hazy sun, a gust of wind blew the fragrance of flowers on him, beneath his torso was short trimmed meadow grass and his head lay resting upon something soft 'what am I laying on?' he decided, like every normal guy, to feel it, the moment he did he heard a giggle. 'da hell!' he tilted his head and saw her.
Genevie was smiling from ear to ear, her soft, luxurious flower-scented orange hair strands dancing above Leavis' shocked eyes, he burst into tears "don't cry you big baby! What will our son think of you!" her soft virgin voice uttered and she chuckled.
Then, the sky turned red and the meadow was set ablaze, Leavis' eyes widened with fear he struggled to seat up, but it was no use, he had no lower body, Genevie was holding her face, crying and muttering "You left us! You left us!" she chanted repeatedly she was covered with wounds and her lovely royal blue dress burnt; skin covered in splattered blood. "IM SORRY! IM SORRYY!!" his scream was absorbed by something, she didn't hear him.
Suddenly vines burst from the ground beneath him and pulled him away from her as his arm was stretched out to touch her face. He was pulled to a distance where he could see her seated, crying in the burning meadow "no! Please don't take me away from her!" he raged. It was as though that's what the vines were waiting for to start pulling him into the ground.
Slowly, his torso was emerged in the sand that split as though desiring his down fall "please! Please don't... DON'T TAKE ME AWAY FROM HERR!!!", before he knew it, he was buried in the sand, suffocating and struggling. 'This... this must be the trial... of regrets'. Then something strange happened...
