Chapter 14 - Chapter 14: Deadly Intent in Snow Ridge

Chen Tang's explanation was somewhat weak, even he didn't believe it.

The woman said nothing, still watching him warily, her eyes showing a touch of iciness and distrust.

Forget it.

Chen Tang couldn't be bothered to explain.

After all, a rugged life...

Moreover, he hadn't done anything; the two were merely passing acquaintances. In the vast ocean of people, they might never meet again.

Chen Tang asked, "Where are you from, Miss? What are you doing at the Three Thousand Snow Ridges?"

The Three Thousand Snow Ridges was a treacherous place rarely visited by humans, even the most experienced hunters dared not venture too far.

The woman was silent for a moment, then said, "I wanted to go up the mountains to gather ginseng, but accidentally fell into an icy cave and got hurt. It was this Old Ape who rescued me."

Chen Tang let out a sigh of relief.

So it was the Old Ape who saved her.

He thought the old creature had a lustful nature and had kidnapped a decent woman from outside.

Chen Tang asked, "Can you still walk, Miss? I'll escort you out of the Snow Ridge."

The Three Thousand Snow Ridges stretched endlessly, with steep terrain and occasional icy cave cracks. Without guidance, one could easily get lost.

The woman struggled to stand up, one of her ankles seemed sprained, and as soon as she put pressure on it, a painful expression appeared on her face.

But she didn't make a sound, just pursed her lips tightly and said, "I can still walk, thank you for your guidance, sir."

Although Chen Tang saw her ankle was injured, he didn't step forward to help.

The woman was clearly wary of him, rushing to help would only bring on trouble.

Chen Tang led the way, taking the woman out of the cave.

The walls of the cave were quite steep, so Chen Tang asked the Old Ape to bring some vines, tied them around the woman's waist, and slowly lowered her down.

Chen Tang roughly determined the direction and walked ahead.

The woman quietly followed behind, keeping a distance, looking at the tall figure in front of her, still not letting down her guard.

She had lost her weapon for self-defense, her ankle was injured, and this man of unknown origin in front of her forced her to be cautious.

Who is this person?

Is he with that group of people?

How did he appear in the Three Thousand Snow Ridges?

He didn't make any excessive moves just now; could it be intentional to make me let my guard down?

The woman endured the stabbing pain from her ankle, with countless thoughts flashing through her mind.

"I am Li Junqing, I have yet to ask where you're from, sir, and how you may be addressed?"

After a long silence, the woman couldn't hold back and asked.

"Chen Tang, just a rustic villager," Chen Tang replied flatly.

Li Junqing frowned secretly.

How could a rustic villager appear in the Three Thousand Snow Ridges?

Moreover, this person didn't have a bow and arrow, nor any weapons, appearing in the Snow Ridge empty-handed, was rather suspicious.

The two passed through a forest and hadn't gone far when Chen Tang suddenly stopped.

"Hmm?"

Li Junqing's heart tensed, and she quickly stopped, looking somewhat nervously at Chen Tang.

"Is there anyone coming to meet you?"

Chen Tang suddenly asked a puzzling question.

"No, no," Li Junqing was startled by the question and answered instinctively.

Chen Tang said calmly, "Then they're here to cause trouble for you."

Upon hearing this, Li Junqing quickly realized something, and looked around nervously.

In her sight, only vast, white snow, nothing unusual, eerily silent.

The originally peaceful Snow Ridge was suddenly filled with killing intent!

Five figures burst through the snow ahead, full of murderous intent, one person wielding a long knife, locked onto Li Junqing at first sight!

"I'll capture her, kill the man!"

This person shouted in a low voice.

Li Junqing was shocked, quickly saying, "This matter has nothing to do with him, whatever it is, come at me!"

"Indeed."

Chen Tang also waved his hand and said, "I don't know her, your trouble don't involve me."

The two were just chance acquaintances, sending Li Junqing to the foot of the hill was already going above and beyond.

The leading man sneered, "Whether there's a relation or not, it's not for you to decide! To prevent any eventuality, we have to kill you to eliminate future troubles!"

The other four were dressed as hunters, and upon hearing this, they all drew their bows and aimed at Chen Tang.

"Still want to kill me?"

Chen Tang's face turned grim, without wasting words, he said, "Let's rely on our skills!"

Whoosh whoosh whoosh!

The bow was drawn into a full moon, arrows like meteors.

This group said nothing, four arrows aimed straight at the vital spots on Chen Tang, with no intention of holding back!

As soon as the bowstring twanged, Chen Tang was prepared, and his body crouched, pouncing out like a Fierce Tiger, incredibly fast!

Originally, he was merely walking on the snow.

This move was truly like a Fierce Tiger coming out of its cage, with an extraordinary momentum!

All four arrows missed!

Chen Tang crouched low, sprinting wildly.

In the view of a hunter, there was no human silhouette, only rolling snowwaves, as if a bloodthirsty Fierce Tiger was pouncing forward!

Before he came close, a gust of evil wind rushed at him, and this hunter seemed to smell a hint of a bloody scent!

This hunter quickly stabilized his spirit, and once again bent his bow and nocked arrow.

Whoosh whoosh whoosh!

The sharp arrow sliced through the air, its sound piercing!

Hidden within the heavy snow, Chen Tang heard the rustle but didn't slow his forward dash. His legs exerted strength, and he leapt high into the air!

The three arrows on his side missed again!

But the hunter directly in front of him had already regained his cool, seeing this scene, he smirked slightly.

He was well-prepared.

The four of them had been hunting in the Snow Ridge for many years and coordinated seamlessly.

It seemed that the three arrows missed, but in reality, they were creating this opportunity for him.

Once airborne, finding a point of leverage is difficult, leaving little room for maneuverability.

He was poised to strike, and this arrow was guaranteed to hit!

Even if the person in front of him managed to block it, his momentum would be halted, allowing the remaining three hunters' arrows to come raining down!

Continuous assault would leave the opponent with no chance to catch their breath.

Whoosh!

He released the bowstring, and the long arrow shot towards Chen Tang in the air.

In mid-air, Chen Tang calmly watched the arrow come, dodging swiftly by tilting his head to the side!

Clink!

The arrowhead grazed past Chen Tang's cheek.

Strangely, no blood was drawn; instead, a metallic clang was heard.

Chen Tang's cheek was left with only a white mark.

A month of grueling training, battling beasts day and night, countless brushes with death polished his abilities to a formidable effect!

The distance between was less than thirty feet.

Now, with the missed arrow, Chen Tang did not diminish his speed, leaping forward like a fierce tiger descending a mountain, majestic and overbearing, reaching close in an instant!

The hunter attempted to nock another arrow but was too late.

"Ah!"

The hunter exclaimed in shock, calling out.

Strike terror to paralyze the opponent's will.

The fear weakened his courage, stripping him of any resistance.

Chen Tang leapt down with a roar, deploying the Tiger Form Splitting Fist like a Mountain-opening Giant Axe, hacking down on the head!

Crack!

The sound of bones breaking echoed!

The hunter's face caved in from Chen Tang's fist, beyond recognition!

In an instant, blood splattered everywhere.

After a brief pause, the hunter was knocked several yards away, tumbling a few times in the snow, dead on the spot!

Two months of grinding had long released Chen Tang from past constraints, shedding his former simplicity. When he took action, it was like a thunderstorm, decisive and lethal!

Regardless of the enmity between these people, since they wanted to kill him, there was no reason for him to hold back!

The bows and arrows of the four hunters posed a great threat.

The One-Stone Bow, when fully drawn, was powerful enough to pierce even a Ninth Grade Martial Artist within a hundred paces!

Only by quickly eliminating one hunter and retreating into the forest, using the terrain, did he have a chance to escape danger.

Whoosh!

The sound of the arrow arose again.

Chen Tang leapt away from his original spot, dodging the long arrows behind him, while grabbing the bow and arrow of the fallen hunter.

Li Junqing was retreating towards the forest, while the knife-wielding man was closely pursuing.

Chen Tang continued his stride, also charging towards the forest.

Once inside the forest, using the trees for cover, the threat from the hunters' bows and arrows would be minimized.

Since they wanted to kill him, then none of them should leave!
