"Almost there," Henry whispered as he stared at the system screen.

Moments later, the notification he had been waiting for appeared.

[Your wounds have fully healed]

[HP has been restored]

"Nice." He let out a long breath and began walking out of the forest. The distant sounds of beasts clashing and roaring echoed through the trees, but he paid them no mind. Ten minutes later, he stepped out into the open and hurried toward the village.

Dressed in torn, dirt-stained clothes, Henry reached the merchant shop and found Rufus lounging on his usual chair.

"Well, well. White-haired boy, you actually managed to do it," Rufus said, sounding mildly impressed.

Henry gave a small nod and placed the corpse of the adult wolf on the counter.

"Not bad. You even brought the fangs." Rufus studied the haul for a moment before speaking again. "Since you finished the quest so quickly, I'll give you three hundred and fifty Blue coins for it."

Henry's eyes widened. A smile tugged at his lips as Rufus handed over the reward.

But Henry wasn't done. He set the Alpha wild bear and two swords on the desk. Rufus leaned forward, studying the items in silence before naming his price.

"Five hundred and thirty Blue coins for your reward."

Henry froze, stunned. Just a few coins short of his dream weapon.

'Was it because our relationship improved? I didn't expect this much,' he thought, barely containing his excitement.

Rufus tossed him a pouch. As usual, it vanished into Henry's system.

[Blue Coins: 460-> 990]

'Only ten more… tomorrow, that flintlock will be mine.'

Beaming, Henry stepped out of the shop and glanced at the weapon store. The image of the flintlock burned in his mind.

"I'm coming for you soon," he whispered.

Night had fallen, lanterns flickering to life across the village streets.

"With this money, I could rent an inn…" He trailed off, the smile fading. "No. The coins are for the flintlock. I can't risk it."

After a pause, he sighed. "Maybe Rose… if she accepts me, I don't mind crashing on her couch."

With that, he turned down a quiet street toward her home.

But before he could go far, three figures stepped out of the shadows, blocking his path.

"Well, well. Hello, miss," the one in the middle said, her voice revealing she was female. She raised her chin, a sly smile playing on her lips. "We saw you leaving the merchant's shop. We'd like your rewards."

The two girls at her sides lifted their heads, revealing strikingly similar faces. Pale skin, ponytails, and features so alike they could only be sisters—twins, perhaps.

Henry chuckled softly. "Sorry to disappoint you. I'm a guy."

The girls blinked, momentarily thrown off. They exchanged glances but quickly composed themselves, refusing to let it shake their confidence.

"We don't care," the leader said coldly, stepping closer. "Hand over the coins."

As she advanced, the twins moved their hands in subtle motions. Stones from the ground rose into the air, circling them like predators ready to strike.
