Chapter 15 - My construction master

The chief hesitated for a moment before revealing it to us. Although I had helped the tribe solve some of the monsters and cured some cases of horse Plague disease before, more monsters appeared and a large-scale epidemic broke out.

According to the legend, there were two mysterious places to the west of the tribe, where the "Cowhead God" and the "Plague God" lived. Ten years ago, the tribe was unwilling to accept being oppressed and went to war against these two demonic gods. Although they temporarily sealed them in a deep sleep, they also made significant sacrifices. The tribe lost over ten thousand people and has only recovered to a few hundred people up to now. Judging from the current situation, the sealed demonic gods are about to wake up. The chief has already planned to lead the herdsmen to leave this grassland where they have lived for generations.

All of us probably had been drinking quite heavily. When hearing this, we all simultaneously patted our chests and said: "We will definitely help you get rid of those two demonic gods!" With a click, the system whispered in our ears: "You have accepted the 'Sealing Demon Gods' mission."

In the game, one won't lose their own consciousness. Even if the game character is sleeping, the game will play a piece of music or a movie to pass the time, and can be interrupted at any time. Being drunk is different from sleeping. The system automatically simulates the alcohol and anesthesia the player's nerves, but for health and safety reasons, the degree of anesthesia is relatively mild, allowing the player to maintain sufficient consciousness and voluntarily cut off the feeling of being drunk.

Although the feeling of being drunk is quite pleasant, I still quickly cut off this feeling and called up the task bar. It wasn't an illusion. I really accepted this task: "Sealing Demon Gods".

To awaken the tiger kings, the result of the discussion was: "Do it!" After all, it's just one failure, right? The demonic gods, as their names suggest, are very powerful, but the stronger they are, the higher the reward. Even if it can't be completed, there are many good things in the place where the demonic gods stay. Grabbing a few artifacts before death is enough to make it worthwhile!

The chief was deeply moved by us last night. After waking up, he didn't forget our promise and immediately selected the seven best warriors of the tribe to go with us to eliminate the demonic gods. He himself was also one of them. I secretly investigated and found that the chief was a 40-level grassland mage. The two main warriors of the tribe, Cha Ah Hu and Man Muhe, were respectively 37-level archers and 36-level grassland warriors, and the other four were around 30-level archers. But except for the chief wearing the tribal generations-old suit which looked good, the others were all wearing copper-level equipment. Fortunately, I brought seven iron-level weapons as gifts, otherwise this team would have been too shabby.

After seeing their levels, we all felt nervous. You know, they had tens of thousands of tribe members killed by the demonic gods before. How could we, players with lower levels than them, have any ability?

The tiger kings were a bit better. They had an attitude of "dying bravely". I thought of the fact that NPC deaths cannot be revived. If this mission fails, these tribal warriors and their relatives at home...

We can't think any further. I only know that I am carrying a heavy responsibility and constantly comforting myself: The demonic gods haven't awakened yet. Their strength is probably less than one-thousandth of what it was before...

The three tiger kings had already learned riding skills, and the location of the demonic gods wasn't too far. Two hours later, we arrived at the "Confusing Forest", which was the place where the "Cowhead God" was sealed.

The confusing forest was no longer a forest. After the battle with the Cowhead God, all the trees died, and it only took ten years for this place to turn into a desert. In the depths of the desert, there was a huge altar.

Seeing the countless monsters scattered throughout the desert, we all gasped in horror. Without retreating, we charged into this sea of beasts, starting from the 10-level wolves at the edge of the desert, and soon reached the area where 20-level monsters were. But for some reason, each of us felt as if a huge stone was weighing on our hearts, and our hearts contracted violently. Images of death, corpses, and skeletons kept recurring in our minds. Our strength was hard to exert, and we felt that the monsters in front of us had significantly weakened compared to when we were leveling up normally.

The chief gritted his teeth: "This again! It's the 'Great God of the Bull's Head''s spell: 'The Breath of Death'. The abilities of all monsters and humans here have dropped to half of their original strength. I never expected that after all these years, the power of the spell placed here still hasn't diminished!"

Oh my god, a spell! The Great God of the Bull's Head can even cast the legendary spell. If he wakes up, we won't even have time to run for our lives.

Without retreating, we kept charging until we reached the area where 30-level demonic beasts were. Due to the decrease in the strength of the monsters, we still didn't feel difficult.

But the chief was very worried because these monsters clearly sensed the "Breath of Death", yet they still gathered here to guard the altar. It was very likely that they were summoned by the "Great God of the Bull's Head". It seemed that the will of the "Great God of the Bull's Head" had partially recovered.

When we reached the area of 40-level monsters, the seven warriors of the tribe, except for the chief, were already struggling in the battle. The four players and the chief were in a much better situation because although our abilities had also dropped by half, the power of our equipment didn't decrease, and various skills were still effective. So, the Bloodthirsty Lion King could even single-handedly defeat the 47-level monster "Double-Tailed Lion" that he had previously been afraid of.

But our pace seemed to have reached its limit here. Ahead were large groups of 50-level and above monsters! It seems that we started this task too early. This task should be done by players at 50-level and above.

Monsters are currently very terrifying enemies for us. If their abilities hadn't dropped by half, we wouldn't have even considered fleeing. Monsters basically have group attack skills, and siege is no longer applicable to them. Moreover, the archers couldn't break through their defense. To be honest, we had no confidence in ten people attacking a single monster, let alone thousands? And more terrifying is that monsters have a relatively high intelligence. If they detect someone attacking their kind within their line of sight, they will immediately come to help. With the current density of monsters, attacking one monster is equivalent to attacking hundreds of the same kind of monsters...

I and the Bloodthirsty Lion King meant that it was impossible to reach the altar today. We should go back and train for ten or fifteen days before finding some experts to come with us. But the chief firmly shook his head: "No, from the situation of the monsters today, the Great God of the Bull's Head has regained considerable strength. Eight days ago, some members of our tribe came to observe, and at that time, the highest level of monsters here was only 20-level. It can be seen that every two or three days, he gathers higher-level monsters. Tomorrow, there may be a spirit beast here!"

Spirit beast? A beast with intelligence close to that of humans above 60 levels? Oh my god, this is really an impossible task. If I had known this, I would have come alone to kill them three days ago, or even six days ago. Then, there might have been a chance to complete it.

Looking at the sea of beasts in front of us with frustration, some strange beasts on both sides began to approach us. We had no choice but to act first and kill these monsters.

To tell the truth, I was actually fighting against monsters that were 20 levels higher than me (of course, mainly relying on the strength of the Bloodthirsty Lion King, Honey, and the chief). As we watched, our experience was skyrocketing, and in no time, we had leveled up to 29 levels.

At this moment, I suddenly felt that the little yin xuan turtle in the pet box seemed to have hatched. Open the pet window, and there you can see a tiny white turtle huddled there, with a layer of membrane covering its eyes. It is trying hard to open its eyes and look at this world. It looks extremely adorable. Thinking of the cute little creature whose mother was killed by me, I couldn't help feeling a pang of sadness. Subconsciously, I took out some medicinal herbs and meat from my pocket and placed them near its mouth to observe its reaction. If the little turtle didn't like what was near its mouth, I would take it back. If it liked it, I would put it in its mouth and let it eat it one bite at a time. Soon, the little turtle was full and peacefully fell asleep on its back.

Looking at the attributes of this little creature: Mystic Turtle, an auxiliary pet, Boss type II, can be attached to the owner's armor or shield to enhance the owner's life and defense.

Level 0, after armorization, it can increase the player's HP by 100, MP by 10, physical defense by 20, and water resistance by 30%.

At level 0, it can add 100 HP. Such a pet, I wonder, would be something that many players would dream of. However, I was determined not to use it to help me fight.

Perhaps it's ridiculous, but I really can't forget the look of that Boss Mystic Turtle before it died. I have already made the little Mystic Turtle lose its mother. How could I use it to protect me from those swords and magic attacks? If the enemy's attack is powerful, the Mystic Turtle might be the first to be broken. I can't let it take such a risk. Just treat it as a decorative pet...

At this time, the Tiger King and his team cleared the nearby monsters. Everyone was so tired that they sat down on the ground. The Tiger King loudly called me to wake me up to clean the battlefield. Throughout this journey, it was I who was responsible for cutting up the monster corpses because they couldn't perform the hunter's cutting technique. There were too few cut items, so my bag was already filled with various materials.

On these high-level monsters, there are many strange things. Like the "Six-Headed Deer" with its head connected to six others. If it existed in reality, it would probably be a very expensive item at auction. "Stinger" has spines on its body, and in the center of each spine there is a tendon. First, pull the tendon, then release it, and the front end of the spine shoots out rapidly. "Ming Meng" skin, when peeled off, is actually transparent and very easy to break, almost like a membrane. I don't know if I can use the leather-making technique in the future when dealing with it. There is also a "Big Belly Demon", and I actually pulled out a large piece of oil from its stomach...
