Chapter 35 - Fantasy Divine Magician

I exclaimed in horror, "I'm not competing with you! I received the same mission to eliminate the vulture too!"

Before I could finish my words, a huge fireball engulfed me completely. My first reaction was to quickly recall my flying pet to its pet space. I felt a strong burning sensation all over my body. This was the first time I had experienced being attacked by someone's fireball, and this one was clearly an expert-level super fireball!

The initial protective shield formed by the Shepherd's outfit was instantly destroyed. The extreme heat overwhelmed me before I could react, causing me to faint from the pain.

Fortunately, my pain was the least severe, and I could force myself to wake up within just a few seconds. Cutting off the pain sensation, I frantically took blood medicine and cast healing spells on myself, but my HP was still dropping linearly!

I shouted again, "I'm working with you. The killing speed will increase. Look, you alone took two days to kill the vulture, but you still haven't completed it."

The previous fireball had not dissipated yet. Another wave of heat rushed towards me. Although I had cut off the pain sensation, I could still sense the "heat" instinctively. My HP was less than half, and it was dangerous!

Instinctively, I dodged to the side. A sudden thought flashed through my mind, and I immediately cast several Rockfall spells on myself.

The earth-based spell's wall of earth originally had good defense, but after becoming the leader of the clan, I didn't learn this spell, so I tried to see if a few more Rockfall spells could achieve the same effect.

A row of large stones blocked in front of me, seemingly blocking the fireball for a moment, but soon they melted, and the heat wave enveloped me. With a desperate mood, I added the "Divine Blessing Spell" to myself and continued taking medicine and healing to save myself.

The heat wave finally disappeared. I was amazed that I was still alive. I touched my body and fortunately, I only got a few burns.

The Shepherd's outfit had a total durability of 3000, and in that moment, it was reduced by 100. The life necklace and the silver shield were also blackened and deformed by the heat.

I was dizzy. If the real battle broke out, even if I could withstand the fireball, my equipment would be completely ruined soon due to the huge gap in levels!

"Fantasy Divine Mage" was then casting the advanced group attack spell "Fire Sea" towards the sky. This group attack spell was available only after level 50, and no one knew where to learn it. I had heard someone selling it for 30 gold coins.

The Fire Sea was cast, surrounding the dozens of evil vultures attacking the phoenix in the sky. With two Fire Seas, several injured evil vultures fell down, and the rest hurriedly scattered. The phoenix immediately pursued them.

The Mage slowly turned his head, his intimidating gaze fixed on me: "Surviving two of my fireballs without dying, you're really not an ordinary player."

My HP had only 50 left at that moment. I was desperately trying to replenish my HP. No one knows when this madman would strike again.

I forced a smile: "My God, buddy, you're so strong. If I didn't have an auxiliary pet that boosts my HP, I would have died long ago."

The Mage looked at me, from his gaze, he had already fully investigated my attributes.

The Mage murmured, "You're only 30 levels. The highest HP I've seen for a 30-level character is a hidden profession 'Orc', who also encountered an adventure and had a HP of only a little over 500, while you, with that pet, have reached a HP of 600. However, without the priest's healing spell and that high-magic-defense outfit on you, you couldn't have survived my two fireballs."

The Mage turned his head away: "Even so, your strength is of no use. I've been here for two days, and the number of evil vultures has increased from 600 to 1,500. This is definitely an impossible task!"

I said, "More people mean more power. If there were more of you like this, the task could be completed quickly."

The Mage snorted coldly: "This task can only be accepted three times. If you don't accept it, there's still a chance. But now, it's impossible." After saying that, although the face of the god of fate showed no expression, from his eyes, there were obvious signs of being "possessed by the power".

I hurriedly shouted, "I understand!"

The god of fate's gaze shot at me, and his eyes were like lightning.

I felt a bit nervous in my heart and blurted out this sentence, just to distract the god of fate from thinking wildly, not allowing him to have any wild thoughts. How could there be any thoughts at all?

I hurriedly said and thought, "Well, usually, the more monsters are killed, the fewer they are. Even if our killing speed is slower than the growth speed, the number of monsters will have a limit. But these evil eagles are killing more and more, which is indeed very abnormal."

I paused for a moment, and seeing that the god of fate's expression was not impressed, I quickly continued to explain: "This indicates that the growth pattern of these evil eagles is different from that of ordinary monsters. Um..."

At this moment, a bolt of lightning flashed through my mind, and an idea formed.

The eagle mayor had said that the appearance of these evil eagles was due to the fact that players slaughtered the eagles in large numbers, causing the ordinary eagle species to mutate.

Recalling the words of the angel by the purification pool: "Human evil thoughts are the main cause of forming evil demons. The stronger the human power, the more evil thoughts there will be, and the stronger the evil demons will become."

I blurted out, "So, the increase of these evil eagles is caused by the continuous slaughter of ordinary eagle species by players!"

The god of fate frowned, his gaze concentrated as he began to think. I then spoke out the words of the angel.

The god of fate suddenly looked up: "I understand."

The god of fate blew a whistle, and the phoenix landed. The god of fate mounted the phoenix and flew towards the town.

I didn't know if the god of fate really understood, nor did I know what he was going to do. I continued to think.

If the previous inference was correct, then why didn't the monsters in other places have such a strong abnormal change?

Perhaps it was because other monsters would actively attack players, and the killing of monsters by players was in line with the principles of justice, while eagles originally did not attack humans, so being slaughtered by players, the resistance would be even more intense?

Or because the species of monsters in this area were all eagles, the resentment was concentrated in this single species, and it was more likely to take effect?

Perhaps there were such reasons, but they were not very reasonable.

I rode my horse towards the bottom of the mountain, wanting to see what the god of fate was going to do. Suddenly, I heard a mournful cry in the sky, and looking up, I saw an evil eagle biting the neck of another large eagle, then carrying the body of the large eagle towards the mountain.

I stared blankly, my heart jumped, eagles would also attack each other. Why?

Then I noticed something wrong. The old eagles ate snakes, rats, rabbits, and birds. But for such a long time, I hadn't even seen a snake, a rat, a bird, or a rabbit!

Perhaps the eagle flock lost its food and had to attack players, which was the main reason for such a large abnormal change.

But where did all those small animals go? Suddenly, I remembered that I had traveled such a long distance and had seen very little grass!

All the small animals ate grass. When the grass was eaten up, they would migrate. That's it. It seems that the game console also uses this point to achieve the transfer of monsters in the game, making the environment of each village constantly change. This is really a very ingenious design.

Now the most important thing is to find a way to make the eagle flock also migrate. The grassland of the Eagle Town has disappeared, and these eagles still refuse to migrate. There seems to be a special reason here. I decided to go back to the mayor of the town to ask.

Seeing the fantasy god of fate and that huge phoenix, the god of fate was having an intense argument with the deputy chief of the Eagle Slayer Sect, Wanli Xiaoxie. The followers of the Eagle Slayer Sect gathered behind Wanli Xiaoxie, seemingly with a tense atmosphere.

I hurriedly urged my horse to come closer, and I heard the god of fate say coldly, "Alright, if you don't want to stop, then do as you like."

After the god of fate finished speaking, he mounted the phoenix and flew towards the town.

Wanli Xiaoxie's face became serious. Some of the players behind him glanced at me sideways, saying strangely, "Coming to our Eagle Slayer Sect to be bold and fierce, haha, really blind."

I knew that the god of fate must have been trying to persuade the members of the Eagle Slayer Guild to stop leveling up. This was simply impossible, unless they could be given several hundred gold coins. Moreover, these one hundred people were only a small part of the Eagle Slayer Guild. There must be many other players scattered in other directions.

I didn't speak to them and galloped towards the town.

When I returned to the town, I saw the god of fate emerging from a pharmacy. Just as I was about to greet him, he had already mounted a phoenix and left the town.

I sighed. This god of fate truly was the most arrogant player I had ever met. He was somewhat similar to me back then, but he didn't have to be so cool, right? I wondered how such a person could survive in the real world. Probably he had no friends at all.

Just a few steps away, I heard a voice: "With the gods, ha, finally seeing you!"

I exclaimed excitedly, "Tiger King, you guys finally arrived."
