Chapter 44

Unfounded Worries

The old man, "Mai Na," spoke with a small, calm smile upon his face as he looked at the princess with eyes full of tenderness and reassurance:

"Why are you so worried about Einver, my lady? He is a good man."

The princess slowly raised her head, her eyes reflecting a mixture of confusion and deep contemplation:

"I know he is a good man… He saved you, he saved me, and he saved the entire city. Because of him, my mother and brother were spared. Although they now lie bedridden, I know that with proper treatment, one day they will recover their full strength. Because of him, we were all saved. And yet…"

Her words faltered for a moment as she stared at her empty hands, then slowly lifted her head again, looking at the old man with cautious thoughtfulness:

"I just cannot help but wonder… who is he really? And how can he be this strong? I saw with my own eyes how he broke the magical chains so effortlessly, how he dispelled the barrier as if it were nothing… and he is only in the Realm of Earth – the Upper Division."

She ended her words, sinking deeper into thought, trying to find an answer to the riddle that consumed her mind.

Old Mai Na replied softly, his eyes full of understanding:

"My lady, did you know…"

He continued, his voice quiet yet clear:

"When Einver first came to the City of Sunlight, he was nothing but an ordinary human—no knowledge of realms, no knowledge of strength, no attributes, nothing at all. And in just two days, he was able to enter the Realm of Earth – Upper Division."

The princess leapt to her feet in shock, her body trembling slightly:

"What… what you're saying—is it true? How could a human ascend from mortal to the Realm of Earth – First Division, and then just two days later to the Upper Division? There is no such thing… I've never heard of such a thing, not even in legends. Who is he really? I must know."

She calmed herself slightly and sat back down, but her worries had only deepened, her mind consumed by the enigma of Einver.

Mai Na went on in a quiet tone:

"My lady, I truly do not know who he is. But there are things I know about him. He is a good young man, brave, and he saved us all from the tyrant Sin Ka. He is truly strong."

The princess replied tensely:

"I already know all this… why are you repeating yourself?"

Mai Na gave a faint, helpless smile, then spoke firmly:

"Listen carefully, my lady… when you were under your uncle's control, something happened—something I still cannot believe. Had I not seen and heard it with my own eyes, I never would have believed it."

The princess' eyes widened in shock, her heart racing with eagerness to know:

"What happened? I don't remember anything while I was under control… tell me."

The old man's brow dampened with sweat as he recalled what he had witnessed:

"Einver… he tortured four men for two whole months. Because they tried to harm his mother. Because of them, his mother died. He tortured them with absolute brutality."

The princess responded softly, though beads of sweat had formed on her own brow:

"Well… those animals deserved it…"

Mai Na's voice dropped, trembling as he continued:

"But what he did afterward is what chilled my spine. It made me question… is he truly human, or is he a demon?"

The princess shuddered, her voice shaking:

"What did he do?"

The old man replied:

"He killed a thousand people because of it. He killed young and old, women and men. Those who were involved even in the slightest way… and those who had done nothing at all, who bore no blame. He killed them all without distinction. He erased an entire city from existence."

The princess was stunned into silence, sweat streaming down her temples, her mind clouded and chaotic, unable to process it.

She finally asked:

"How do you know this?"

The old man answered:

"He told me. He told your uncle as well. I was behind the door of the council chamber when I heard everything."

The princess tried to steady herself, whispering:

"Perhaps he was lying."

Mai Na shook his head firmly:

"I do not think so. He was under Sin Ka's control—and you, more than anyone, know what that means. Under that venom, one cannot speak anything but the absolute truth."

The princess fell silent. She didn't know what to think or what to do. Her mind was torn by contradictions, every thought circling back to Einver.

What neither the princess nor Mai Na knew was that Einver had been born in another world. In that world, he had trained and mastered countless martial arts, studying ancient techniques long since forgotten—techniques powerful even in his own world. Centuries of decay had buried them in obscurity, and by the time of his birth, his world was already in decline, leaving little chance for anyone to study whether such techniques were even real.

But Einver had reached physical and mental perfection at a young age, surpassing the limits of humanity. And with the trauma of his mother's death, he shattered his mortal shackles. For reasons beyond his understanding, he was then brought into this world.

Now, Einver possessed a body of immense strength, a mind overflowing with combat knowledge and techniques, and within him, both light and darkness in perfect balance. This vast well of knowledge allowed him—even without learning the spiritual martial arts of the Realm of Earth—to fight those in the First Division as their equal.

What would happen if he truly learned the martial arts of this world and opened his spiritual sea? Without doubt, he would stand on par with those in the Upper Division.

Yet there was one truth known to all who had opened their spiritual seas: while the gap between divisions within a realm was vast, it did not guarantee absolute defeat for the weaker.

There were figures like Mi No, Mi Ni, Nan Wu, and the girl Nan Wei—cultivators of the Realm of Heaven, First Division—yet because of their laziness, their arrogance, and their lack of discipline, a diligent, intelligent cultivator of the Realm of Earth – Upper Division could kill them.

Einver possessed immense physical strength, a wealth of knowledge, and a darkness deep within. After rising to the Realm of Earth – First Division, the combination of all these, fused with his fury, propelled him straight into the Upper Division.

Yet his body, burdened by the intensity of his aura, could only withstand the power of the First Division. Having not yet trained to wield the power of the Upper Division, he had collapsed before.

Now he knew: he must train further, strengthening both body and mind to wield the true power of the Upper Division.

A soldier walked ahead of Einver, while little Mai Ko sat happily upon his shoulders, enjoying the ride.

The soldier stopped at a door, opened it with care, and bowed slightly:

"Please, honored guest."

Einver entered the room. It was of medium size, calm and beautiful. To his left, he noticed clean, folded clothes laid neatly upon a fine bed.

He gently set Mai Ko down, then stepped forward and opened the window. Night had already fallen, the sun sinking slowly into its final descent. Einver breathed in the beauty of the twilight.

Mai Ko waddled up beside him, trying to see through the tall window, but her small frame was too short. Hearing her frustrated sounds, Einver looked down and saw her struggling to climb. Smiling, he brought a small table from the room, placed it beside the window, and lifted her up to sit on it.

"Better?"

Mai Ko smiled sweetly:

"Yes."

Together they gazed silently at the sunset.

After a while, Einver stepped back, leaving the window, and approached his bed.

He examined the new clothes. They were fine and well-crafted, but he disliked them—embroidered far too heavily, in his eyes like garments meant for women, and their red color did not please him. With a quiet sigh, he carried them into the bath and shut the door.

Ten minutes later, he emerged, clad in the new crimson robes. His long hair was tied neatly back, his sword laid at his side.

Mai Ko looked up at him with childish delight:

"You look so handsome, brother… all the girls will fall for you."

Einver smiled, walked over, and tapped her lightly on the head:

"That's grown-up talk… don't say such things."

Mai Ko giggled, and Einver ruffled her hair gently before seating himself cross-legged upon the bed.

He told her not to disturb him, nor let anyone else interrupt. Closing his eyes, he sank into his spiritual sea.

The sight before him was unlike what he had seen before. No longer was it the desert world—it had become a world lush with trees and grass. He closed his eyes again, shifting his vision outward, seeing his inner world from space, its oceans and greenery spread across a beautiful sphere.

Opening his eyes within his spiritual sea, Einver whispered:

"No matter how I look at this world, it reminds me of Earth… my world. It almost mirrors it entirely. Now it has become a world where humans could live. But there is still something that troubles me…"

His thoughts lingered.

"First of all, what is that dark sphere in the sky?"

When he had created his inner world, Einver had, thanks to his uniqueness, forged a complete world—sun and moon revolving gracefully around it. Yet this dark sphere, vast and alien, was not of his making.

Closing his eyes again, he reappeared near it. The sphere was almost as large as his entire spiritual world, like a planet of its own.

Crossing his legs, he shut his eyes, trying to sense what it was.

Within him, light and darkness intertwined, the darkness swelling larger and larger. He placed one hand upon the dark sphere, drawing more darkness into himself. His other hand rested upon his world, light swelling in turn.

When both light and darkness had grown within him, Einver opened his eyes. In a single thought, he became an immense giant, his body forged of light and shadow merged as one.

His right hand gripped his spiritual world. His left hand grasped the vast dark sphere.

His form was like a colossal, translucent shadow, his human body seated cross-legged at its core.

The giant opened its eyes—its right eye burning like the inferno of hell, its left a swirling vortex of eternal fire. Together they embodied light and darkness in terrifying balance.

With a mere thought, the sun and moon drifted toward him, bending to his absolute will, moving as he commanded through the endless void.

Seated cross-legged in the center of space, the giant seemed the very heart of the cosmos itself, surrounded by a halo of blended light and shadow. Around him revolved four luminous planets, each shimmering with unique beauty, moving in perfect harmony like embodiments of the elements themselves.

Einver's eyes glowed with boundless power. He lifted his colossal hand, and with a single snap of his fingers, something miraculous occurred: from the fusion of light and darkness, a new planet was born. Formed by his deep understanding of their laws, shaped purely by his will.

In that moment, Einver became like an absolute ruler within his spiritual world—able to create or annihilate as he wished, shaping reality itself at his command. Every particle, every energy within this universe bent only to him, yielding without resistance.

His inner world mirrored his strength and will—an endless canvas of genius, depth, and magnificence unseen by any other being. Light and darkness, creation and destruction, all coexisted in strange harmony within him, making Einver something beyond human comprehension. A sovereign of his own realm, a forger of worlds from nothing, as though the universe itself had fallen beneath the banner of his supreme will.
