Chapter 26 - Chapter 26: If I Were My Younger Brother, I’d Have to Kowtow to Myself

Chapter 26: If I Were My Younger Brother, I'd Have to give respect to Myself

If this were an anime, Jerry would have polished off the entire cheesecake in seconds, his stomach ballooning into the size of the dessert.

Reality, however, was less dramatic. Jerry struggled with the cake, fork in paw, wobbling with every bite until he collapsed backward, using the utensil as a makeshift cane just to stay upright.

Renji Miyauchi couldn't help but watch with both amusement and concern. "At this rate, you'll choke yourself to death."

Thankfully, after a short rest, Jerry bounced back, eyes bright with curiosity. He looked at the empty plate, tilting his head as though puzzled. Why had the cake been so hard to finish?

It dawned on Renji then: outside the slapstick world of Tom and Jerry, Jerry's cartoonish physics had weakened. Here, he was still extraordinary—but bound by this world's rules.

Renji fetched a ballpoint pen, broke the refill in half, and handed it over. Jerry tested it, then scribbled neatly on a sheet of paper.

"Thank you, generous human. That was the best cheesecake I've ever had."

Renji blinked. The words weren't in English—they were in japanese.

" Do you know Japanese? English?"

Jerry hesitated, then nodded, his expression oddly conflicted as he wrote again.

"I don't think I knew before… but now it feels like I do. Because of you."

Renji's eyes narrowed. "Because of me?"

Jerry's paw flew confidently across the page. "Anything you know, I should know a little of."

Renji rubbed his chin, intrigued. "Piano?"

"A little."

"Shooting?"

"American fighting style."

"…Fencing?"

Jerry promptly picked up a toothpick and executed a dazzling series of thrusts and parries, as if dueling an invisible opponent.

Renji sat back, dumbfounded. Skills from the cartoons had carried over—yet when he asked about witchcraft or magic, Jerry only looked confused.

Before Renji could press further, Jerry snapped his fingers, wiggled his hands, and broke into a surprisingly graceful hand dance before shifting into a ballroom step.

Renji nearly choked. "Wait, who taught you that?"

Jerry simply pointed at him.

Renji buried his face in his hands. "So anything I know, you copy too? Unbelievable…"

He exhaled slowly. No, this wasn't a weakening of Jerry's abilities. This was his true gift: to bind to a "Tom," always matching him fifty-fifty.

Renji muttered, half in awe, half in horror, "What kind of Platinum Star logic is this…?"

If this Jerry went to Hogwarts and bound himself to the other Tom, Dumbledore would probably beg him to become the savior.

After more testing, Renji confirmed Jerry's quirks: he couldn't use Ripple yet, but his breathing rhythm hinted he might eventually develop a "Breath of the Mouse." And when that day came—combined with his cartoon-born skills—Jerry could very well surpass him.

The thought made Renji sweat. Still, the mouse was loyal, clever, and easily bribed with cheesecake. A perfect helper.

And when Renji offered him food, lodging, and even the possibility of finding him a harem of female mice someday, Jerry flipped into the air in excitement and agreed on the spot.

"Work to Jerry, life to me," Renji said smugly. "What a perfect setup."

That night, Renji bought Jerry a set of tiny tools and contacted Koshigaya Takeru from Asahigaoka to build miniature furniture. Takeru didn't ask why, only promised to deliver by the weekend.

Finally, before bed, Renji grinned wickedly and dropped a bombshell in the diary:

---

[Temporary announcement: Today, I took on a new subordinate from another world. According to seniority, since I'm your teacher, when you see him in the future, you should call him Master Uncle. Below is your Master Uncle Jerry. You don't have to like him, but if you happen to see him strolling around, bow deeply out of respect. By the way, @Kasumigaoka Utaha, starting tomorrow, get ready for an experiment. Don't worry—it'll only take two or three days.]

---

Kaguya Shinomiya, lying in bed, stared at her phone in disbelief.

A mouse. A literal mouse. As their "Master Uncle."

The absurdity made her temples throb. Yet rationally, she knew: if Renji had chosen him, Jerry must have some extraordinary power. Perhaps even serve as his spokesperson.

"…So I might actually have to bow to a mouse?" she whispered, horrified.

Kasumigaoka Utaha, on the other hand, was beside herself with frustration.

"It's fine if you want to keep a mouse," she groaned, glaring at her diary. "But why drag me into this again?!"

She had just staged a spectacle at Toyosaki Academy today—cornering a first-year in full view of everyone. Now Renji was teasing her again with vague promises of "experiments."

Her pen dug into the paper as she muttered furiously: "Damn it, Mysterious Person… you really won't let me rest, will you?"

Meanwhile, Jerry, perched on Renji's desk, gave a smug thumbs-up before curling into his napkin-blanket and dozing off.

Renji chuckled softly. "Yeah… we're gonna get along just fine."
