Chapter 33 - Chapter 33: Mrs Giacomo

My face and my lips hurt from keeping the false smile plastered as the mercilessly long guests continued to troop in and congratulate Francesco and I on the success of our marriage. My back muscles burned from standing so long, holding my posture as straight as possible. Not to mention that this crown on my head was getting heavier each passing second and it was nearly impossible to lift my chin.

"You're doing good," Francesco whispered to me in-between shaking hands and acknowledging insincere praises. "It'll be over soon."

"I hope so," I grunted and saw him stifle a laugh.

Thankfully, I was able to memorise the ridiculously long list of guests and learn about their family information and their connections. I even separated into groups based on what I had learned.
