My breath caught in my throat as a bile suddenly rose. What was Marco doing here? And where were Francesco's men? If there was anyone Francesco's sentinels would have immediately marked as a threat, it would be this snake standing in front of me, grinning, hands in pocket.

I hate to admit it, but she took those words out of my mouth. There was no way Marco wanted to help me. He had no reason to. If anything, I could be he wanted to use this situation to screw me over.
