Chapter 70 - Chapter 70: Planetary Devastation

Holy Land Mary Geoise.

Rakuya had already disappeared twenty Celestial Dragons into his abyss, and the World Government's top brass remained oblivious. Their noble bloodline was having a very ignoble day.

"Momousagi, do you see this world for what it really is now?" Cloaked in black with crimson clouds, Rakuya stood with a cold, solitary air, eyes lifted to the sky.

"Mm." Her eyes were still rimmed red. She had cried for a long time; the color had drained from her cheeks.

Girls feel with their hearts first. Even Rakuya had to admit that. The Celestial Dragons' bloodlust and cruelty sent her into fresh rages over and over. At first he was the one punishing them. By the end, Momousagi couldn't bear it; she was the one swinging her fist.

"Do you still want to be a Marine? To protect those so-called nobles?" This whole trip had a purpose: shake her beliefs. He had burned two thousand points to cloak them; if this didn't work, he'd bash his head against a wall.

"No." Her gaze hardened with stubborn light.

"Then what will you do?" Rakuya asked, laying the last trap gently.

She had already come to loathe the Celestial Dragons. She could not fathom how creatures like that existed.

"I want to be a pirate." She said it loud and clear.

"What did you say?" Rakuya pressed, just to hear it again.

"I'll be a pirate. I'll act by my own sense of justice. I won't serve Marine Headquarters, and I won't serve the World Government." She lifted her face and declared it to the sky.

"Good." Rakuya smiled. The scales had fallen. From today, Momousagi was part of the Flowing Cloud Pirates, his very first female recruit.

"Put this on." He handed her the black cloak patterned with crimson clouds.

She didn't hesitate. Since she had chosen, there was no going back. She had already punched a Celestial Dragon. The Marines and the World Government would never forgive her. They would hunt her. She wasn't afraid.

She slipped into the cloak and took on a cool, untouchable beauty that drew a low whistle from Rakuya. This cloak really did something to a person's presence.

"Come on. We've got a big job."

"What job?" Despite the outfit, she was still adorably straightforward.

"Erase the Holy Land."

"System, strip the concealment from me and Momousagi. But I don't want anyone to see my face. Workaround?"

"Ding. Thirty minutes remain on your shroud. I can remove all concealment except a mask over your features, rendering you unrecognizable."

"Do it. For both of us."

"Processing. Ding. Complete."

A moment later, the haze around their bodies faded, leaving only a blur over their faces. Their presence flared back into the world.

Which meant the Five Elders felt them at once.

World Government, top floor.

In a lavish office, five old men sat around a round table. The square-jawed elder frowned. "Intruders."

"I feel two. In the Celestial Dragons' quarter," another said.

"When did they enter? How did all five of us miss them?" The long-mustached elder sounded genuinely surprised. Their Observation Haki swept everything. Almost everything.

"Look at their clothes. An organization?" The sword-bearer polished his blade, eyes narrowed.

"Doesn't matter. They set foot in the Holy Land. Kill them," the bald one said flatly.

"So be it. Who goes?"

They were the Five Elders, supreme authority of the World Government. While they debated, Rakuya lifted Momousagi and shot to three thousand meters above Mary Geoise.

"What are we doing up here?" she asked, baffled. The World Government sprawled below them. At this height, it felt like a declaration of war.

"Erasing the Holy Land."

Rakuya opened his arms to the sky.

"Gravity. Planetary Devastation."

A boundless tide of gravity burst from him. Suspended in the air, bathed in a golden radiance, he looked like a small sun. Beauty hid a terrible intent.

Boom.

Within a five-kilometer radius of Mary Geoise, the world groaned under a colossal force.

Darkness rippled out from Rakuya. Gravity spiked.

Crack. Crack.

The Red Line tore open in jagged scars. Peaks sheared away and avalanched. Entire ridgelines shattered, became boulders, and soared toward the glow gathering beneath his hands.

Roaring. Splintering. The land heaved and the sea howled.

The Red Line, the New World, the Sabaody Archipelago, even Marineford trembled.

From every direction within that five-kilometer ring, titanic stones ripped free and hurtled toward Rakuya.

The sky blackened, lightning stitched the clouds, and the ocean rose in towering columns under his pull. Cyclones clawed at the waves. Mountains collapsed. The world sounded like the end of days.

New World, Roger Pirates.

The instant Rakuya unleashed Planetary Devastation, Gol D. Roger felt the sea change. He turned toward Mary Geoise, grave.

"Captain? What's wrong?" a young red-haired Shanks asked, hat in his hands.

"The World Government…" Roger's words trailed off as waterspouts lanced the horizon.

New World, Whitebeard Pirates.

"Pops, what is that?"

"Over there. Something's happened."

At Sabaody Archipelago, Fleet Admiral Kong had been conferring with the vice admirals about capturing Rakuya when the whole room lurched. Glasses exploded where they sat.

"What happened?" Kong's brows knit tight. His gut said Mary Geoise.

"Holy Land," Garp said, eyes narrowing.

"The Holy Land?" The other vice admirals could not yet sense it.

Wind shrieked. Earth shook.

Over Mary Geoise, one man stood at three thousand meters.

Rakuya.

Countless boulders flew to his outstretched hands and crushed together under his gravity, veins of stone snapping and reforming until they became a single, world-crushing sphere.
