I felt something warm pressed against my feeble body. A warmth so consuming it felt both familiar and utterly repulsive.
The softness beneath me was dangerously mesmerizing, unlike anything I had ever experienced before.
My eyes snapped open. The room before me was familiar yet not mine. The golden reel on the ceiling sparkled above me, its glimmers mocking, hinting at only one possibility.
I jumped to my feet as realization struck me hard.
"Finally awake," his voice loomed behind me, and I turned, my heart almost running out of my chest at the expression on his features.
"What am I doing…" I dropped my gaze to the unfamiliar thick-layered duvet and the three-feet-wide bed I had been laid on.
My mouth dropped open as I stood up from the bed abruptly.
"Why do you always scream those words in your dreams?"
His voice lashed at me, yanking me out of the haze clouding my thoughts. My eyes darted up to meet his.
