I stood frozen while his eyes roamed over me from head to toe. His throat clicked as he turned toward the wardrobe, snapping it open before pulling out a gray set of matching polo and pants.
I quickly looked away just as his gaze flicked toward me, my fingers fidgeting nervously against each other. Before I could steady my breath, the door burst open again. The guard returned, this time with Anabel. A chill shot down my spine.
The lady from earlier.
"Why is she so drenched and sticky?"
He didn't turn from the wardrobe, he didn't raise his voice, but you could tell from his body language that he was furious.
"I… I don't know… maybe she tried to empty the dirty water and tripped, pouring it all over herself," she stammered before turning to me. "Was that it?"
"Y… e… a," I muttered.
She winked slyly, then turned back to Alpha Enzo, who glanced between us before focusing on the outfit laid neatly on the bed.
