Eva was so scared she stumbled backwards, falling and hitting her head on the wall. She slid to the ground, the pain deafening and her consciousness barely holding on. She reached out and touched the back of her head. She pulled her hand back staring at her hand covered in sticky, metallic red before blacking out. "B…lood…" she let out as she went limp, slipping into the darkness.
Her eyes clenched as she woke, the sunlight crashed against her crimson eyes. She groaned before sitting up. She touched her head, the wound was gone but the dried blood in her hair and on the wall, confirmed last night's events.
She stood up to look at the mirror; she saw her reflection. A sigh of relief followed. She knew whoever it was she saw, was tied to whatever was happening to her. "Daughter? What the hell was that supposed to mean?" she thought as she washed the blood off her hair and walls.
A knock on the door pulls Eva from her thoughts. The door clicked as the knob turned. It opened up a bit and Jayne poked her head in. Eva looked around for anything out of the ordinary before adjusting her clothes and walking out of the bathroom to meet Jayne. "Morning, you were washing your hair?" Jayne asked.
"Yeah, I woke up this morning and my hair wouldn't stop itching." Eva smiled awkwardly, sitting on the bed. Jayne sat beside her and let out a deep breath, fondling with her fingers before turning to look at Eva.
"I was thinking-" Jayne stopped for a moment, like something caught her attention. She reached out for Eva's collar to get a closer look. It was a small smudge of blood. Jayne face turned pale as she looked at Eva for answers.
Eva laughed it off with a slightly awkward smile "Oh, this, i must've cut myself earlier. The itch in my hair was so bad, I scratched and scratched. I must've cut myself then."
Jayne let go of her collar, fuming. She kept quiet for a few seconds, her head was down and she clenched her teeth hard. "Am I some kind of joke to you?"
"What? No, not at-" "Then why are you lying, I am trying so hard so you can trust me, for you do understand I am your friend, but it seems that's impossible." Jayne yelled, the pain in her eyes were vivid.
"I do trust you.". Eva spoke, her voice almost a subtle whisper.
"Then why are you lying to me?" Eva opened her mouth to speak but nothing came out, Jayne just shook her head. "I was right all along; you're just like everyone else."
Eva knew she was in the wrong and that she had to apologize. But she decided to wait a while so Jayne could have a chance to cool off.
After noon, Eva left her room to find Jayne.
She looked around then she remembered when she said she and her parents stay on the top floor and that her parents weren't home, so that means Eva and Jayne were the only one on the last floor; aside the maids and other staffs.
She walked a bit and saw a maid leaving a room with food in a tray. Eva knew that was the room she was looking for.
She went ahead to the door and knocked before opening.
"I said I am not hungry" Jayne said not looking at who was at the door
"You can't starve yourself" Eva said walking into her room, Jayne looked up. "You! Who are you to even say that?"
"Your best friend?" Eva walked up to Jayne's bed where she curled herself into a ball.
"Last time I checked, best friends talk to each other and trust each other" Jayne scowled. "I know and I'm sorry. The truth is I slipped in the bathroom and hit my head on the wall. I bled a little but I'm ok now. I trust you… I didn't want you to worry" Eva said interrupting Jayne from speaking
Jayne eye widened from the revelation. "How? When?" She asked with a hint of concern in her voice. Eva just held her hand and sat her down, telling her not to worry that she was alright, Jayne hugged her and she hugged her back
"Don't ever hide things like that from me ok" Jayne said with a small pout and Eva nodded after she calmed down, she grasped Eva hand and dragged her out of the room. "Sulking works up quite the appetite."
They giggled and went off to eat after eating. Jayne bought her dress to Eva's room, Jayne and Eva watched tutorials on different makeup styles they tried it on each other they laughed and played
By the time they were done they wore their dresses, Jayne couldn't stop looking at Eva even tho ugh it wasn't her first time wearing the dress in front of her.
Jayne walked up to Eva with a teasing grin. "Keep wearing that and I might realize I'm into girls.". Eva's eyes widened "Heh!? What?!"
Jayne burst into laughter. "Kidding… I'm kidding."
Eva's face flushed. "Alright, let's go John texted me; he's already at the bus stop, what about your guy?" Jayne asked. Eva checked her phone and saw he hadn't replied any of her texts.
"Maybe he'll be waiting for me there, I'll ride with you." Eva said, Jayne was a bit annoyed but she decided not to show it… not yet at least.
Eva tried to take a jacket with her because she didn't like all the attention she would get but Jayne didn't let her.
The got to the bus top, John was waiting for her. The moment he saw Jayne, he walked up to her with his arms wide and a smile. He hugged her, kissing her forehead. "You look gorgeous." He complimented. Jayne blushed. John took her hand and was about to lead her to the car w hen his eyes fell upon Eva, he looked at her up and down "Eva is that you?"
Eva came closer with a shy smile. John was till in shocked all he could say was "Wow". Then he smiled "You look really beautiful; your date is lucky…". Then he turned back to Jayne "…but I 'm a lot luckier."
They all got in the car and zoomed off. Jayne and John talked all the way there, Eva still kept looking at her phone in case Jackson texted her. The car came to a halt and they all got down, walking into the school together.
They were walking towards the main building together when Eva's eyes fell upon a guy kissing a girl so intensely at the parking lot but she just looked away and went in with Jayne.
