Chapter 79 - Chapter 79: Bear God

At dawn, Leylin's mage squad, following closely behind the ranger troops ahead, arrived at the Farstrider Enclave. The devastated temple and blood-stained forest betrayed the ferocity of the battle.

The trolls, roaring with fury, received the forest god's blessing and launched a frenzied assault on the Farstrider Enclave.

The rangers and warriors had reached their limit, and the priests were exhausted. Only High Priest Vandellor and several of his students remained active on the battlefield.

"Accurate fire, quick!" Alleria's gentle expression faded upon entering the battlefield. She was a Ranger Captain, and on the battlefield, a leader was typically emotionless.

She focused solely on victory, for only victory represented her responsibility to her rangers. The rangers leaped from their hawkstriders and, with a single roll, nocked their enchanted arrows onto their golden bows.

Firing, uninterrupted. Enchanted arrows, imbued with flaming microspheres, exploded amidst the charging troll soldiers.

However, the trolls were numerous, and they continued their charge.

"Replace all the exhausted warriors and rebuild our defenses," Thalorien shouted from the side of the Farstrider Tower.

The elven warriors, wielding golden sun shields, shielded each other as they faced the trolls' frontal charge.

The battlefield suddenly became tense, the battle line stretched out, and the trolls were unable to capture this elven camp.

Finally, Nalorakk, the Bear God, could no longer contain himself. He roared and charged forward. His power seemed to cause the earth to tremble.

Indeed, from the Bear God's feet, a circular shockwave radiated from the ground towards the camp.

The Bear God paid no attention to the troll soldiers ahead, and the powerful shockwave carried them along, charging towards the elven camp.

The powerful vibrations struck the elven warriors' holy shields. A loud metallic clang tore through the elven lines, sending many warriors and their holy shields flying.

"It's our turn!" Leylin nodded to Thalorien.

Leylin led the charge, leaping into the area just affected by the Bear God's shockwave. Surrounded by flame elements, he raised both his hands and casted [Flamestrike] boosted with Multicast.

A burst of flame erupted beneath the Bear God's body, engulfing it completely. Its destructive power was so strong that it sent a shockwave in the battlefield. Trolls and elves alike were thrown back and it shattered everyone's formations.

Nalorakk, wailed loudly, its blue eyes focused on Leylin, wanting to tear apart this mage who managed to penetrate its [Thick Hide] though reduced most of the damage, it still burned most of its fur.

He should have realized that Zul'ajik had also relied on the Bear God's blessing. Fortunately, Leylin's destructive power is on another level and could actually damage its hide.

"More firepower is needed. Hmmm, alright better do a combo then." With a wave of his hand, Leylin's arms, even down to his shoulders, gathered more fire energy arcane energy.

"Aminel, Tyr'ganal, you hold it back while I attack." Leylin said.

Aminel was a dual specialization of frost and arcane while Tyr'ganal is an ice mage. They knew what to do when it comes to restricting enemies.

Aminel's spell proficiency was superior to Tyr'ganal's. She channeled her magical energy, slowly casting [Blizzard] to reduce its movements. Tyr'ganal immediately realized it was a massive [Blizzard].

"I'll buy you some time! She's about to unleash a powerful [Blizzard]" Tyr'ganal immediately realized the faint formation on Aminel's casting and the concentrated magical energy she was gathering.

Leaping and casting [Cone of Ice], Tyr'ganal slowed the Bear God's speed.

The [Blizzard] was quite effective, and the Bear God began to chafe at the trouble these ants were causing it. It began to shift its focus, unleashing its power on the mages.

Suddenly, the Bear God felt pain. It slapped the burning flame residue on its chest in frustration and charged frantically at Leylin.

The Bear God was enormous, snapping trees in its pursuit. Leylin's goal was clear: to lure this half-baked demigod away from the Farstrider Enclave.

In reality, Leylin succeeded, but at a heavy price; their team were so unlucky.

Aminel and Tyr'ganal followed Leylin's lead. Aminel looked exhausted; casting spells while moving required a greater expenditure of magical energy.

With a roar, the Bear God's vast palm slammed down on Leylin. Leylin had just used [Blink] and and its already on cooldown, so he immediately lunged forward dodging the smash.

As he moved a distance, then leaped, attempting to slip directly under the giant beast's body.

The idea was sound; below the Bear God's body was his best hiding spot, but also a blind spot for the Bear God.

But the Bear God didn't want to give him this chance. After rolling for a distance, Leylin stood up and wanted to jump. However, the beast's other attack had already arrived, and his palm whizzed down Leylin's chest.

Fortunately, he reacted quickly, and after a long sigh of relief, Leylin had to retreat back. Buffer for a moment.

As a cover, Tyr'ganal fired nearly a hundred [Ice Lance] in his hand. As a student of the Magister Senethir, his ice lances were shot at the beast from all directions in the air through various tiny magic circles.

The low temperature of the ice cones made the Bear God's brown hair covered with a layer of ice. Perhaps because of the low temperature effect of the frost spell, the speed of the beast slowed down.

Continuing to cast spells, Leylin unleashed a burst of explosive rotations, he used [Combustion] to boost his spell's critical chances, hurled [Fireballs] and [Fire Blast] in between plus some [Pyroblast]. These spells continued to charge at their behemoth, blasting it back.

The Bear God's massive paws smacked the residual flames on its head, and it shook its head, trying to maintain its balance and consciousness. But the damage has piled on, Leylin's continuous burst of spells dealt heavy damage against it.

"Get out of the way!" Aminel shouted, as she finished casting [Ring of Frost].

Leylin, upon hearing the sound, immediately stepped back. But he was still a step too late. A powerful magic circle spread from Leylin's feet, enveloping the Bear God's entire body at a speed visible to the naked eye.

Leylin stood only at the edge of the circle, but he could already feel the biting cold.

Almost instantly, frost elementals whizzed past, welcoming the powerful magic circle's closure, and the magical pattern was completely drawn.

Flakes of dancing frost and water elementalized, swirling and clinging to the Bear God's black fur, since Leylin's spell has made its pristine brown fur into black charcoal.

Frozen and imprisoned. A massive bear-shaped ice sculpture stood tall in the forest.

Oh, by the way, there is also a human-shaped ice sculpture at the edge of the magic circle.
