Chapter 80 - Chapter 80: The Eve of the Battle

Because the [Ring of Frost] formation was somewhat closed, Aminel couldn't disperse it. Only after the battle at the Farstrider's Enclave ended and the witch doctors recalled the Bear God did Leylin emerge from the frost.

Leylin could have used his own elemental fire energy to melt the surrounding ice, but for the greater good, he chose to wait.

After the frost melted, Leylin immediately cast a constant heating spell, rapidly restoring his body temperature. Due to the drop in blood temperature, Leylin's movements were slightly slowed.

"A-choo! This is the first time I've felt the bitter cold of winter this year. I thought I'd mastered magic and living in Quel'Thalas that I wouldn't be affected by the cold anymore. It seems I was overthinking it." Leylin said with a helpless gesture.

Aminel chuckled and said, "Don't be sentimental here. Our mission is over. It's time to return to camp."

Leylin shrugged, his body still a little stiff. His steps were a bit uncoordinated. While walking alongside Aminel and Tyr'ganal, Leylin slowly regained control of his body.

Seeing Leylin's speedy recovery, Aminel and Tyr'ganal are shocked by his swift recovery. It was a powerful ice spell that incapacitates enemies.

Though he was at the edge of the spell formation, it was still enough to weaken the affected Tyr'ganal, a friendly and enthusiastic elf, naturally took advantage of this golden opportunity.

He quickly checked Leylin's body searching for a clue or something that could satisfy his curiousity. Fortunately, Aminel glared at Tyr'ganal.

Both knowing that there are some secrets that must be kept, and they should wait for Leylin if he would tell it to them. Leylin noticed their interactions and chuckled, "Yeah, I've got a strong physique it's no secret."

Tyr'ganal just laughed, "Well, you really are quite different, as far as I know, humans, I'm not saying anything bad but let's say some humans are inherently have weaker physique than us elves. So, knowing that you are quite different than other humans is a surprise."

"Yeah, far as I know, humans do have some surprise if were talking about physique then dwarves are innately born with a strong physique while for humans. Yeah, some do have strong ones but there are others as well who are let's say physically incapable such as the human mages in Dalaran." Aminel chimed in.

"Well, you can just say I'm built different." Leylin just smirked at them with a touch of flair. There were a few moments of silence until Tyr'ganal bursts into laughter while Aminel ignored his shameless declaration.

The group had a fun conversation about random things while walking back to the camp.

Back at the camp, Liadrin saw the returning group and immediately stood up from her resting area.

"Are there any wounded? Please enter the camp and wait," Liadrin said wearily.

Leylin shook his head and said, "I'm fine, no need for treatment. We're just tired from our long walk back here."

It was clear that Liadrin no longer had the blessing of the Holy Light around her. The numerous wounded had drained the Light's power from her body.

An hour later, Leylin's mage team condition finally recovered. Having completed his mission, Leylin should have found a place to rest; after all, he hadn't slept for two whole days.

However, night had not yet fallen, and Leylin had other things to do. He persuaded Tyr'ganal to clean up the battlefield in front of the Farstrider Enclave.

There were many corpses here, both trolls and elven warriors. The remains of the elven warriors would be properly disposed of, but the trolls were different.

Soon, the battlefield was left with only the bodies of the troll soldiers. Leylin and Tyr'ganal used magic to gather some of the bodies together and cremated them.

The living were a different faction; the dead were all souls. They all died fighting for their faction, standing for their country. They deserved a final resting place and at least a minimum of respect.

This was what the mentor had said to Leylin, and Leylin had always remembered it. The air was thick with the smell of burning, and flames shot up into the sky.

"The Silvermoon Council's reputation system doesn't include quests like this, does it?" Tyr'ganal asked curiously. He couldn't understand Leylin's approach; in Tyr'ganal's view, it was all pointless.

Leylin wasn't one for inspirational speeches. He looked at the towering flames before him and shook his head. "It was just a spur of the moment thing. Don't worry about it."

Tyr'ganal shook his head. In his eyes, Leylin could be easygoing at times, yet also eccentric at others.

As the night fell, Aminel brought back six loaves of bread and three bottles of water from the camp and presented them to Leylin and Tyr'ganal.

"The supplies are still in Tranquillien. The war broke out so suddenly, and they didn't have time to deliver them. This is all we have for today." Aminel pushed the bread toward Leylin.

Tyr'ganal took two pieces of bread, no more, no less, and wisely left the place. Picking up the two slices of bread, Leylin folded them together and began to eat.

After taking a few bites, Leylin looked at the female mage in front of him and said, "You should eat too. You might not be able to eat tomorrow."

"I'm not hungry." Aminel said, pushing the bread toward Leylin. Aminel knew Leylin's exhaustion today, the massive magic consumption and being frozen for nearly four hours.

She could imagine how exhausted he must be. If he didn't eat enough, given his fighting style, he might make a mistake tomorrow.

But what she didn't know is that Leylin's [Sage Body] has been refined even more through his daily routines of absorbing pure magical energy. His magical capacity is already fully restored, unlike other mages that took a long period of rest.

For him resting for a couple minutes or few hours is already enough to keep him back up. Still Leylin was no fool, he knew how good Aminel was to him.

Even though he had food today but no food tomorrow, Aminel still showed such support. It was easy to imagine how much she cared for him.

"You'll make me mad if you do this. So, eat, you need to recover as well." Leylin offered the bread to Aminel.

Aminel took the bread with both hands and said emotionally, "I know, but I still..."

"Eat first, we'll talk about this later." Leylin gave Aminel a gentle smile.

For some reason, seeing Leylin's smile reassured Aminel. She took a piece of bread and brought it to her mouth, quietly gazing at the mage before her.

For some reason, a tear as glittering as a gem rolled down from the corner of Aminel's eye.

To avoid Leylin seeing it, Aminel panicked. Luckily, Leylin was lost in thought. Aminel wiped the tear away and said, "Hurry up and finish your meal, and get some rest."
