I stood there in disbelief as the maid gestured for me to enter.
When I first laid eyes on the woman, she was dressed in a short dress that fell just below her knees. However, now she was adorned in a long gown, and a crown rested elegantly on her head.
"Come in here," she instructed as I stepped inside. As soon as I entered, the maid who had accompanied me promptly exited the dining area, leaving me alone with her.
"I never would have thought that beneath that skunk appearance, there would be a pretty lady," she remarked in a blunt tone. I was taken aback by her words; she had insulted me and then, in a strange twist, complimented me.
The doors swung open, and the maids entered, bringing with them an array of food. They began to fill the table with an impressive spread.
