Chapter 90: The End

As if sensing Kraft's piercing gaze, the Skywing Clan army immediately quickened its pace, yet those below failed to notice anything unusual. Their excitement blinded them.

Kraft's roar exploded like thunder across the camp, but it only caught the attention of a few people nearby. Most remained immersed in the euphoria of the Skywing Clan army's return, their cheers drowning out his warning.

The Skywing Clan had arrived; there was hope for the war, and victory seemed within reach.

Kraft suddenly drew the Elf longsword from his waist. He pointed it at the sky like an accusation. "They are demons in disguise! Prepare for defence!"

Kraft's furious roar instantly froze the soldiers closest to him.

More soldiers ignored Kraft's warning, instead casting reproachful glances his way. Only a small number of the allied forces' mages felt the wrongness creeping into their bones, secretly weaving defensive magic.

Some powerful mages also cast detection magic, but like Kraft before them, they found their spells repelled. Instead, they suffered a sharp backlash from the 'Skywing Clan' army's anti-detection magic, several staggering with nosebleeds.

"Captain Kraft, are you insane? That's the Skywing Clan!" A male Elf warrior frowned and rebuked.

"No! They are not!" Kraft's eyes were bloodshot. "Open your eyes and look at them, They are no Sky wings, they are demons"

He saw it! He saw that the massive 'Skywing Clan' army, after entering the airspace above the battlefield, instantly transformed its formation.

Dozens of the most central 'Skywing Clan' members broke away from the ranks, ascending directly above the main force, while other members made similar movements. The entire army shifted into a pyramid formation.

Then, all the 'Skywing Clan' members' magic power began to rapidly converge. The power coalesced into a colossal halo radiating energy.

"Not good!"

Seeing this, Kraft abandoned all attempts at persuasion. He sprinted toward the command platform, seeking the Dwarf King and Elf King.

The two rulers possessed magical artefacts capable of casting large-scale barriers; only powerful defensive magic could hope to withstand what was coming.

It was all too late.

Just as he charged forward, the fake angels in the sky completed their charge. From the halo, a terrifying radiance burst forth, light capable of devouring everything.

That was not the Angel's characteristic white light, imbued with divine blessing.

The core of that light was pure white of destruction, but its edges writhed with a dark tide as black as the void. Two incompatible forces were forcibly melded together, creating something that should not exist.

Mages with keen magical perception had already sensed the unique dark and chaotic aura of the demon race writhing within the false light.

These opposing forces finally transformed into a massive beam of energy, aimed directly at everyone in the allied forces.

At this moment, all sounds between heaven and earth seemed to be instantly choked!

The ecstatic expressions on the allied soldiers' faces had not yet faded before they were stunned into immobility by this sight.

The smile on the Dwarf King's face completely froze.

The Elf King's knuckles turned white, and his golden pupils contracted to pinpricks.

"God... God Strike?!" A personal guard beside the Dwarf King shrieked. "They are casting God Strike! Where is it targeted?!"

"No matter the target! Immediately deploy the barrier!" The Elf King's command rang out.

He still couldn't comprehend that the Skywing Clan had betrayed their alliance, betrayed the sacred pact witnessed by the gods themselves.

A powerful magical barrier unfolded above the allied forces like a shimmering dome; this was the Elves' most ancient and powerful defensive magic.

It was said that even gods could not easily break such protection.

Seeing the barrier rise, the leading fake Skywing Clan members felt some regret ripple through their ranks.

They had still missed the optimal attacking opportunity. Unless it was a perfect sneak attack, even impersonating those bird-people, they couldn't directly unleash God Strike on these prepared foes.

If that were the case, they would execute the second plan, one far more devastating to elven morale.

The twisted pillar of light, condensed with destructive energy, did not target the demon army on the front lines of the battlefield as everyone desperately hoped.

Instead, under the gaze of countless eyes that turned from astonishment to dawning despair, it slowly, with irresistible might, shifted its direction.

The pillar of light locked onto the Elf Forest!

It locked onto that sacred woodland, which had nurtured countless generations of elves, which symbolised the resting place and ancestral heartland of all elvenkind.

Time seemed to stretch and freeze at this moment.

The Elf King, witnessing this scene, no longer showed any trace of royal elegance on his face, only raw pain and despair of watching his people's souls being torn away.

"No!!!"

Kraft had just reached the foot of the platform when he saw this scene, and he immediately understood what these demons truly intended.

His voice was drowned out by the roar of the light pillar activating!

Boom----

The pillar of light descended, not with a world-shattering explosion, but with something far worse: absolute silence.

It struck the heart of the Elf Forest with precision. Even when the beam made contact, there was still no sound. Sound itself was devoured by this manifestation of destruction.

Everyone in the allied forces fell silent as well; the entire battlefield suddenly plunged into a deathly quiet.

In everyone's vision, there was only pure, ultimate white light.

Centred on the light pillar's impact point, the radiance of destruction spread silently and rapidly in all directions.

Wherever the light reached, whether it was ancient giant trees that had stood sentinel for tens of thousands of years, or crystal streams containing infinite life magic, or even the vibrant life force that had permeated the very air itself, everything gradually vanished within that terrible illumination.

That scene was a display of perfect destruction.

The elves who had witnessed the true Angel's God Strike were now completely stunned by this imitation.

The Angel's God Strike had always been more like purification, a manifestation of pure, cleansing divine power.

The 'God Strike' before them was pure annihilation, a terrifying force capable of erasing all life and the very land that supported it.

Everything in the Elf Forest did not burn, nor crumble to ash; it was simply, utterly erased from existence as if it had never been!

In just a few heartbeats, that ancient forest transformed into a massive, bottomless void. Any trace that elves had ever called this place home had completely vanished.

On the allied forces' position, deathly silence reigned supreme.

Weapons slipped from nerveless fingers, hitting the ground with dull thuds, but no one paid attention to the fallen steel.

The Dwarf King staggered backwards, his legs betraying him as he bumped into a stone railing. His lips trembled, utterly unable to process what his eyes insisted was real.

The Elf King collapsed to his knees, his spirit shattered. His crown slipped from his bowed head, rolling in the dirt unnoticed.

His golden eyes stared blankly at that vast void where his people's hearts had once beat, his body swaying slightly as he opened his mouth but found no words existed for this loss.

It was over! The Elf Forest, the root, the soul, the very foundation of elven kind, had been severed forever.
