Chapter 97: The Magic of Pseudo-God Strike
After gaining the trust of the two kings, Kurtz discussed how to deal with the demon army.
He could now go to Godfall Land for his battle with the Goddess, but the allied forces were in trouble, and if he left without helping them, Kurtz would feel bad.
Athos wasn't like Orger, a lost Dwarf treasure, this sword was sacred to the Elves, their strongest defensive weapon. He'd already taken one Elf treasure, so taking another would be too much, though the 'treasure' he'd taken didn't know it yet.
"We need to attack first! Lure out the demons and have Lord Kurtz blast them with Orger's light cannon."
The Dwarf King had seen Orger work and knew what it could do. Too bad no one could use it, until now.
With Kurtz controlling Orger, the Dwarf King suggested the same plan: find a chance to fire at the demon army.
The Dwarf King didn't know Orger's true power, but it had to be strong, maybe as strong as the Elves' best magic. He didn't dare think about God Strike, the world's strongest attack.
If he knew Kurtz had once used Orger to shatter the Skywing Clan's God Strike, he'd be speechless.
"Lure those demons here," the Dwarf King stabbed his finger at the map, "then Lord Kurtz blasts them with Orger's cannon!"
He pointed to a narrow canyon, perfect for an ambush where Kurtz's attack could hit the entire demon army.
"Too risky." The Elf King shook his head. "I don't doubt Orger's power, but the demon commander isn't stupid. He won't march his army into a trap."
He turned to Kurtz. "And can your body handle the magic needed to destroy the entire demon army?"
Kurtz was quiet for a moment. "Orger can't pull enough magic to cover the whole battlefield right now."
The Dwarf King's excitement died, his face falling.
Fighting the Skywing Clan's God Strike and the divine attacks afterward had damaged both Kurtz and Orger too much.
He wouldn't use such a risky move again before facing another god, as he wanted to be more careful.
This wasn't like the Dwarf Ruins, where back then, just a few of them had faced the Skywing Clan and a god, forcing them to give everything or die.
Now was different, since the allied forces had many mages who should help too.
Then Kurtz had an idea.
"Do you Elves have magic that can transfer power into another person?"
"Yes, but it's dangerous for whoever receives it." The Elf King frowned. "I'm worried about your body..."
The Elf King didn't finish, but his meaning was clear, this magic poured everyone's power into one person, letting them use several times their normal strength briefly.
The side effects were severe: at best, no magic for decades, and at worst, death. Also, the power difference between people couldn't be too large, or the recipient might explode.
It was dangerous magic that few Elves even learned.
"I don't want to put magic power into my body, but into the Holy Sword."
"We don't have magic for that."
Kurtz smiled. "Just teach me the magic. I'll figure out the method. I'll need some help, though."
He looked toward Serie and her group.
He would use the Holy Sword to unleash a move that once matched God Strike, and this time, he'd create new magic, something with the same devastating effect as God Strike.
He'd call it Pseudo-God Strike.
Using the allied mages as the base, with himself, Serie, and Olivia at the center, all magic power would flow into the Holy Sword, then release through its blade.
This would have power to match the legendary God Strike.
The Skywing Clan's God Strike involved everyone releasing magic power at once, activating the God Strike magic, then gathering and releasing all that collective power.
This needed perfect coordination, as any mistake would disrupt the entire magic array and could cause backlash.
Time was short, and even if Kurtz could copy the Skywing Clan's God Strike magic, he couldn't train all the allied mages fast enough.
He'd create a simpler way instead: have all allied mages release their magic power at once, with him controlling it, gather that energy into the Holy Sword, then use Orger's light cannon as the main force. This would create Pseudo-God Strike.
This way, neither he nor Orger would overextend like before, and at most, it would use up magic power and leave them tired.
This required one thing, they needed to repair El's Light.
El's Light and Athos would work as transfer stations to help Orger with the attack.
Since he was here, Kurtz would ask his favor, and the allied forces had many skilled Dwarf craftsmen, making this the perfect time to have them recast El's Light.
He just hoped that old man Duller wouldn't show up!
After Kurtz explained his plan, the Dwarf King slammed his fist on the table. "Good! I agree! I'll get our best craftsmen to recast the Holy Sword right away."
The Elf King nodded. "I'll tell our mages to prepare. I'll send you the spell books for the transfer magic immediately."
Kurtz felt excited.
"Then let's begin!"
