Chapter 98: Adding Restrictions
In the following days, the entire Allied Army began preparations, and the camp bustled with activity.
To create his magic properly, Kurtz asked Olivia to teach him the Skywing Clan's God Strike magic.
Olivia agreed, though sadness showed in her eyes, since the Skywing Clan had died out and she alone couldn't use God Strike anymore. The most powerful magic in history would disappear, only to be replaced by Lord Kurtz's creation.
Olivia had this feeling and looked forward to that day, thinking maybe something good could come from all this loss.
While creating the magic, Kurtz and Serie worked together as the core team.
Serie's talent was exceptional, so with her help, his creation speed would be faster. Kurtz also wanted her to learn this magic, ensuring that even if he couldn't find immortality later, she would pass this knowledge to worthy people.
At the Allied Army camp, Serie floated in the centre of a cleared space, while below her lay a complex magic array made of glowing magic lines.
This was the Pseudo-God Strike magic Kurtz had just created.
To make sure it would work during battle, Serie led a group of mages in testing, and when the mages below made mistakes building the magic array, Serie fixed them quickly.
Dozens of high-ranking Elf mages sat in a circle, focused as they worked to understand every magic structure Serie requested, with sweat covering their faces.
They looked shocked, having never seen such creative magic that changed everything they knew!
Who was Lord Kurtz? They were puzzled but didn't dare ask too many questions, only followed instructions with shaking hands.
"Here, you need to be careful." Serie's voice was clear and serious. "El's Light will be used as a transfer point, and Kurtz will control the magic array to guide power into it. You need to control your magic power so it merges with the array."
The mages nodded nervously, and soon the work was done.
Kurtz controlled from the side, eyes closed as he guided these people's magic power, then combined it with Orger, achieving the "Pseudo-God Strike" effect he wanted.
He sensed Orger's state with his spiritual power, then sent adjustment suggestions to Serie.
Finally, all the mages' magic power gathered into Orger, and using its light cannon ability, a powerful attack could be unleashed.
Kurtz couldn't unleash it now, though, if the noise was too loud and the Demon Race detected it, their entire plan would fail. He just needed this experiment to work smoothly.
During the real battle later, he would control not just these dozens of mages, but thousands of them, meaning the spiritual and magical power needed would be enormous.
After slowly ending the magic array, Kurtz carved special restrictive magic at several key points.
This was something Serie had taught him, the same type as on the Dwarf Kingdom treasury door.
The original blueprint for this magic was in the inner vault of the Dwarf Kingdom treasury, and both Kurtz and Serie had learned this powerful technique.
Kurtz modified it with his own ideas, turning it into restrictive magic and applying it to his creation.
He had to add some safety measures to this Pseudo-God Strike magic to feel comfortable, since with the Elves' magical talent, figuring out and learning his magic wasn't impossible. They had centuries to interpret it, and Kurtz didn't want to see a race that could use God Strike-level attacks appear in this world.
Now that the Skywing Clan was almost gone, it would be better to let this level of magic disappear from regular use.
Even if it was used again, it should only be during a world crisis like now, never for small conflicts or territory fights.
Kurtz's restriction was simple: this magic could only work when facing the Demon Race, during a battle to save the world. Otherwise, it couldn't be used.
Only he and Serie knew how to break this restriction.
"This is necessary," Kurtz explained to the Elf King, who looked questioningly at the glowing runes. "Its power is too great to be used casually. Think about it, if two magical races went to war and used Pseudo-God Strike on each other's territories, what kind of destruction would that cause?"
The Elf King, who had witnessed the raw power during their test, looked at the restricted magic and stayed silent for a long moment before finally nodding in understanding.
When things here were done, Kurtz prepared to visit the Dwarf Kingdom to check on El's Light's forging progress, walking carefully the entire way, almost tiptoeing through the camp, afraid he might bump into a certain someone.
He had recently heard that Duller, a famous Dwarf Kingdom forging artisan, had also come to the Allied Army front lines. He was precisely the person Kurtz most feared meeting, but unfortunately...
"Isn't this Mr. Kurtz! Hahaha! I heard you got Orger's recognition, that's truly amazing!"
A booming, familiar voice echoed from ahead.
Kurtz's steps stopped, dreading this moment—just as he feared most, it had happened.
Duller, the oldest legendary forging Master of the Dwarf Kingdom, was now walking over with his usual swagger, a heavy iron hammer still in his muscular arm.
"Long time no see, Master Duller." Kurtz tried to keep a calm smile. "I didn't expect to meet you here."
It seemed the other party still didn't know about his reforging of El's Light, small mercies.
"Hahaha, never mind that!" Duller waved his free hand, then delivered a hearty slap to Kurtz's shoulder that nearly sent him stumbling. "Did you properly promote the El's Light I forged? Although you're more famous now because you got Orger's recognition, my El's Light is no shabby work either!"
Kurtz's smile stiffened, and he moved Orger from his waist to behind him, hoping to avoid the dwarf's attention.
His small movement couldn't escape sharp-eyed Duller, whose hand shot out fast. "Is this El's Light or Orger? Let me see!"
Kurtz tried to dodge, but he hadn't expected Duller's reflexes to be so quick—the dwarf's thick fingers grabbed directly at his belt.
To avoid having his pants pulled down in front of half the camp, Kurtz quickly spoke: "This is Orger, don't pull down my pants!"
Duller awkwardly pulled back his hand, but his gaze stayed fixed on Kurtz's waist with burning intensity.
Feeling a chill from that stare, Kurtz quickly raised Orger, pulled it from its sheath, and held the gleaming blade before Duller's eager eyes.
"Tsk tsk tsk! As expected of the legendary holy sword, it's really magnificent!" Duller's eyes gleamed. "My El's Light is no inferior work either!"
Duller would never admit that his forging skills were less than those of the legendary Dwarf Kingdom artisans of the past.
