Chapter 125: Heroes Walk the Path of Legend

"You know what I've learned? Imagination has no limits. If you can dream it up, there's probably a way to make it real."

Kurtz patted El's Light at his waist, looking rather satisfied with himself.

Ever since he had directly confronted the Goddess, he had been thinking about how to deal with her.

Ordinary magic could hardly harm a god; even if he developed magic that could destroy heaven and earth, it would be useless if it couldn't harm the Goddess's actual body.

Although Orger's attacks could harm the Goddess's actual body, Kurtz still hadn't figured out how to make his move.

Mainly, the Goddess wouldn't just stand there and let him attack; if she were to summon dozens or even hundreds of destructive light beams like last time, he probably wouldn't even be able to get close.

Orger's full-release attack could indeed cause damage to gods, but it had already been used once against the Skywing Clan, so the gods would surely be prepared.

If this move of his was neutralised by the god, then failure would still await everyone. He had to come up with a more reliable method.

And so, amidst much deliberation, Kurtz happened to glance at the barrier staff and suddenly had a brilliant idea!

That was to intercept the Elves' power of faith and pull the Goddess's true body down from beyond the world!

To be precise, he planned to transform the Elves' power of faith into a magic specifically effective against gods, like chains that could bind a god.

By then, this magic would be called God's Lock.

Once a god's power was bound, even if her actual body descended, it wouldn't cause destruction to this world, and his group would be able to wage a despicable but righteous god strike!

The relevant pieces had already been placed; now, they just had to wait for the opponent to enter the field.

"Only you could pull off something like this," Serie said coldly. "Anyone else? They wouldn't have the talent. Hell, they probably wouldn't even think to try."

This man's creative talent was truly abnormal, almost without any limits.

He could create magic out of thin air just by the power of imagination, even magic as unthinkable as intercepting the power of faith could be made by him.

This man was too terrifying.

"The power we've got now isn't enough, though," Kurtz continued. "That's why I asked the Elf King for that mass prayer thing. When do they all pray together at the right moment? That'll generate enough faith energy actually to pull this off."

Although the Elf King was very puzzled by this sudden request, he still solemnly promised him.

Olivia quietly looked at the barrier staff in Serie's hand.

She had just been guessing that the excess power of faith from the Elves over the past few millennia might have been stored in some container.

And then this container was discovered by Kurtz, which is why he conceived the idea of harnessing the power of faith to combat a god.

Otherwise, he wouldn't have this confidence.

And the only thing Olivia could think of was the holy staff, which, according to the Elves' legend, only a true saint could wield.

Only this staff, once used by a god, could bear such a vast amount of faith power.

"Wait, so you're planning to attack the Goddess with faith magic?" Somo asked, scratching his head.

He couldn't imagine any other use for the power of faith besides directly attacking a god.

Kurtz just smiled, the expression looking pretty mysterious in Orger's glow. He held up a finger to his lips.

"Shh. Can't spoil the surprise. Let's just say I've prepared a very special gift for our goddess friend, and El's Light here is going to be the delivery method."

"Delivery method?" Norn frowned, clearly trying to work out what Kurtz was getting at.

"Think of it as a key," Kurtz said, but didn't elaborate further. "A key that'll unlock our victory. But we're not there yet. First, we need to find where she's actually hiding."

According to Olivia, after the Life Goddess's will awakened earlier, she had been constantly vying for control of the body with the Fertility Goddess.

But the Life Goddess had been suppressed for too long and couldn't compete with the Fertility Goddess.

So, with her last shred of will, she brought the spiritual body projected by the Fertility Goddess to the Godfall Land and imprisoned it there, quietly awaiting the arrival of Kurtz, her fated one.

"Come on," Kurtz said, gripping Orger tighter as its light seemed to brighten. "You're all essential to making this work. The answers we're looking for are somewhere past all this black mist."

With that, he said no more, turning to continue leading the way.

Leaving behind his five companions, who exchanged bewildered glances.

Serie gazed deeply at Kurtz's retreating figure. The human who was once so naive on the path of magic had now grown to a point where even she couldn't comprehend him.

Was this what he had said earlier, to believe in humanity?

Serie's eyes flickered with complex emotions.

She understood how many things Kurtz had been plotting during that month in the Elf Kingdom.

Originally, not only was he researching the Pseudo-God Strike magic, but he had also set up a grand scheme to deceive the heavens and steal the power of a god directly!

Although she still didn't know what this "key" would ultimately unlock, this persistence for victory deeply moved her.

And she, precisely, lacked this persistence. Perhaps she should learn this from Kurtz.

However, the proud elf would never admit this.

Somo scratched his head again. "You know, the way Kurtz talks... It's got 'that' quality to it."

"What quality?" Olivia asked.

"Like he's already a legend. The kind of hero people write songs about generations later."

The young dwarf's eyes were filled with admiration for that legendary hero.

One must know that Somo's greatest wish in adventuring was to become a great hero adorned with honour, making all the dwarves in his hometown look at him with new respect.

And now, Kurtz was walking on such a path, making him incredibly envious.

Norn and Eric exchanged glances, both seeing the shock and solemnity in each other's eyes.

No matter how outlandish Kurtz's plan was, they chose to trust him.

The team continued to advance in silence.

The light of Orger was like a small boat swaying in the ocean, leading everyone towards the unknown end of the darkness.

And El's Light hung quietly at Kurtz's waist.

The power of faith gathered within the sword was like a sleeping dragon, waiting for Kurtz, the fated one, to pull the trigger that would decide destiny, using this special "key" to open the final act of god-slaying.

The heroes were walking on the path of legend.
